OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Some time after joining the Union and securing his place on various R&D projects Charles found his attention like a protective big brother to one of his subjects. A young girl named Mir began to slowly yet surely melt his cold and blackened heart. Despite his own rise in rank, there was always the worry that lingered in the back of the mans mind that if something happened then he wouldn't be able to move fast enough. In other cases he pondered over the simple fact that the girl could be in danger from what she was if he didn't collect more subjects. So he began to slip down that dark path again, until a simple suggestion came from the A.I. Tranquility whom Charles had befriended. The creation of a device that would allowed the two of them to communicate on a deeper level and help keep him from slipping back down that road again.
The creation of the Seance Device was something that Charles wanted to have handled outside of house. True it might be found out about in the future, but the parts and production needed to be handled by a company that his Master and those inside of the ZU could dip their fingers in less. Thus he again looked to Tranquility to try and help with this and the service of Tanlab Industries was offered. It seemed like a way that he could keep the designs of the device away from the NZ as he didn't want them to go snooping around what might be in his head. He may have trusted in his comrades in the ZU, but the Seance Device was meant to be one of his trump cards.
By the time it was secretly created Charles had formed a unit known as The 13th Division aka "The Zombies". Given their tactical operational style, he realized that they could be used as the prefect asset, if given proper warning time, to protect that which he was assigned to guard for the state and that which he cared about most. Thus was the full function of The Seance Device born as a method to get a hold of both parties when needed. Though subtly was the key and against his typical dislike of implants of this nature Charles allowed it to be install if he could use it to better protect Mir. Allowing for quick and quiet communications, that would lead to a quick and quiet relocation.
The surgery again like anything involved was done in secret, as there was only a few people the man trusted to do it. In this case a bunch of medical droids run by Tranquility, and a few well paid doctors who found that after the procedure that their minds were a bit... foggy... about what had just occurred. As such the Seance Device was installed, and for the moment no one else was the wiser, and if they were... well its multiple functions did allow for plausible deniability.

- Instant-Communications: The Seance Device was built to allow Charles with a few clicks of any single finger in the right combination to activate a communications device installed in his ear. The purpose is two fold, depending on the combination, he can either connect with the A.I Tranquility or the headquarters of the ZU Army Unit under his command known as 'The Zombies'. The second of these two communication features is currently facilitated through Tranquility given desire for high levels of security and the lack of a second device.
- Enhanced Hearing: In order to enhance Charles own abilities to listen without being seen, and to allow the device maximum effectiveness when recording conversation, it was connected into his auditory nerves. Allowing him to increase his hearing beyond that of a normal human, and back to normal again using a separate combination of clicks of fingers than he would for the communication device. It also has settings that can simply increase his own hearing without that of the recording device, and visa versa.
- Computer Connections: Through the instillation of a XR-02 the user is able to connect with computers and droids via the interface as well as to see a HUD. Given Charles personal paranoia about having the device hacked he has had extra encryption's installed that like other are tied to the movements of his fingers, but in this case tone based clicks of his tongue as well.
- Soul Communication: Because of The Seance Device's construction and connection to the A.I Tranquility it can be used as a conduit to speak to her via the various functions of the XR-02 when it comes to computers and droids. As well as a via long methods that could be used to contact the Zombies whenever they are required via the A.I's expansive network.
- Always Listening, Always Watching: With its connections to his auditory and optical nerves, the user gains the benefit of enhanced hearing that allow them to hear far above the range of normal humans and record anything that is heard for later use or download. The same is done with his optical nerves as well, though this is limited to the ability to record things. The real strength here is that it allows the A.I to see what the user sees or hear what he hears depending on what part of the device is turned on.
- Computational Delusions: Like anything else that is connected up to a computer, or is a electronic device like the The Seance Device it can also be hacked. Given the connections to both the users auditory and optical nerves, one could use it to cause the user to hear things that are not there or see things that don't exist. The HUD and recording devices can also be hacked in the same manner to distract or blind the user, or play loud noises in his ears while the settings are up if any recordings are still stored inside.
- The Port In A Storm: The Seance Device strength of being connected to an A.I like Tranquility is also a double-edge sword. In that should anything happen to her, or someone find a way to completely sever the link then the most of the functionality that is provided to the user is lost. This could also happen should the user in up in a place that is outside of A.I's reach or should its computing functions be focused enough on a task that it can't provide the encrypted communications.
