The Resurgence

"Right then, thanks." He nodded to the three, stepping towards the tent and raising a hand. "You will let us through." The men seemed to completely ignore him - such was why he entered the tent to find a small wooden chest, the one he had stored the relic in. "They stole the chest too... I wonder if they even know what's inside of it."

Perhaps they did. It would be up to Maja to watch his back and make sure nothing happened as he moved to pick it up.

Maja was here to locate the artefact, whatever it was. The contents of the chest were immaterial. It could be a woman asleep for millennia for all she knew or cared.

So she turned her back on Vitor and kept a gentle but persistent bit of mind control running. The sentries were alert and focused on a spot in the distance, where they were sure they saw movement from a short while ago.

It was simple stuff and she could keep it up for a while. Enough time for Vitor to see if what he was looking for was still here.

As he slowly pulled the box up, a smile on his face, he turned around to Maja. "Let's go." Carrying the chest as best he could, he backed out of the tent, looking to see if the SIth was following him as he cautiously moved out. Hopefully, they wouldn't follow him - if they did, well... this could get ugly. "Well, that seemed simple enough, didn't it, Maja?"

He smiled. She really was quite a pretty woman.

Maja liked simple plans. In truth she preferred no plans and to just make it up as she went along. But there was a nagging thought at the back of her mind that this was too simple.

So she encouraged the two guards stationed outside to investigate a noise from the area behind the tent and then opened the flap to allow Vitor to exit. "After you," she smiled, "I'll make sure that we're not followed."

"Thank you." He smiled, knowing that Maja would keep the guards occupied even as they moved to make their escape - an escape made easy by the lack of mental fortitude and weak will of the Zahat who had stolen the treasures within. "We work as a good team, Maja. I'd love to make this a more long-term sort of thing. When are you considering heading out?"

Perhaps he could join her.

Maja shrugged. "I never stay one place too long. I have an agreement to meet up with someone but after that?" She waved a hand in the air dismissively. "I'm a creature of circumstance. I tend not to plan ahead. Things tend to come to me as a rule."

"Well I don't suppose I can come to you for a longer-term, more pleasurably financial arrangement?" He smiled - after all, he did have a good amount of cash saved up from all his archaeological digs, and she did seem like someone to keep around. Why so, though... well, she may have been a Sith, but her common sense and proper behavior was definitely something he appreciated.

Quite a bit, in fact.
