Careful steps were taken as he didn’t want to rush his pace and end up encountering a pack of Maalraas on his way. He found those to be the most obnoxious creatures to deal with on this forsaken moon. At least the other beasts he could see and fight them with ease, but those nighthunters? Better odds fighting a Rancor than a pack of those predators. Everything else he fought on Dxun, and he’ll gladly pass taking on a Maalraas.
Not a hill he’d like to die on.
Vilaz’s sophisticated scanners started picking up movements and life forms in his area as he approached the fortress with every step he took. He followed to see what his scanners picked up and then from the distance he saw a zakkeg and a Mandalorian. No doubt the zakkeg saw Obran as lunch, for there’d be no reason for a wild beast to be near a sentient. Either it was hungry or was protecting its territory.
Time to give a fellow warrior some help.
The disruptor rifle was raised and aimed at the direction of the zakkeg, taking a few moments to precisely aim at the armored body of the beast and then firing a deadly blast that would vaporize some part of the creature, either killing it or wounding it for it to retreat and heal itself. It’s shell was like durasteel as you could use a whole cartridge of slugs or a pack of blasters on the animal and it would not dent it.
“Amateur hour for not bringing heavy duty weaponry. You were gonna fight it with those...knives?” bewildered by the fact that the Mandalorian carried knives in his hands to take on the zakkeg.
”Surprised you’ve survived one minute on this world. Wishing for a death sentence?”
