The Republic Counter-Invasion of Prakith [Republic vs. One Sith]

The wild one would be flung back, but so would she in the shock wave that would follow.

Yet it wouldn't be met without a measure of victory.

The tight grip that the woman bore upon the wild one would have tainted her. Marked her for her own. Blood in, blood out. Her laughter would follow, amidst the sudden shudder of the foundations as the temple ground would open like the maw of a sarlaac.

You'll never be free of me.

Would scretch the words of the Chosen of Vahl upon the Wild one, imprinted and seared to her mind.

Nihil smokestone and obsidion would crack, shift, uplift, and sink.

Isolda's body disappearing under the dark.

Korr watched the Eye of the Dark Lord vanish, swallowed by the earth itself. He held his breath, waiting to wake up from the dream, but as the ground settled and Isolda did not re-emerge, Ryan began to hope that the nightmare was over.

Then the ground began to quake. The very foundations of the temple shuddered and groaned.

He yelled at the top of his lungs, voice barely audible above the grinding of stone. "Quinn! Jaxton! We have to get out of here!"

Alarm ran shrill through the Force as the remaining soldiers of Isolda fled, or died beneath falling rubble.

Ryan rushed to Quinn's side, ignoring his bruised and beaten body's screams of protest. A swift-flying shaft of hurt slipped between his ribs and pierced his heart at the sight of her blood-slickened form. He couldn't tell if the blood was hers or not, but he wouldn't be leaving until she did.... even if he had to carry her out.

You'll Never Be Free of Me

Skin crawled, head rang, eyes burned. Red threatened to creep across and stain the green in here eyes. She felt the beast of the dark even as Isolda's voice echoed within her skull. Blood-slick hand reached out for something to steady herself. Ebony-fingers wrapped around Korr's shoulder as her lithe-body leaned into his.

She would never do this with anyone else.

His mere presence was like a flash of heated-lightning cutting through the storm of darkness threatening to swallow her whole. "Go," she croaked out. Eyes swept the room for the blue-sith that had helped them. "We leave now." She doubted Isolda was dead and she knew from this moment forward, she would be hunted by the sith like a wild tuk'ata.

Her weight pushed against him and his heart hammered so hard he felt as though it would tear from his chest. Rubble trembled from the ceiling and crashed to the floor not a foot away, but Ryan remained frozen. The blood and grime from her hands and body seeped into his robes, yet he found himself wishing those tattered garments would soak scarlet just for another second, another breath, another heartbeat to hold her close. Even with the world crashing down around them.

Korr looped an arm about her waist and moved as fast as their wounds would allow toward the nearest exit.

The ground quaked, the ceiling groaned and it felt as if the whole planet was coming to pieces around them. But they'd done it. Quinn hadn't given in. She'd beaten Isolda. He felt a surge of intense pride and grinned fiercely, whites flashing from his soot covered face.

"Jaxton, come on."
