Faction The Raggedy Edge [SJO OPA]

It was bad enough that the Silver Jedi were involved let alone a group of unexperienced Padawan’s with a master who had been known to be an of a hubristic sort of man with a known reputation on Kashyyyk. The Padawans weren’t ready for a mission like this. It was basically setting them up to be lambs to be slaughtered . Not only did he have to come up with some plan to help save Kyra Perl Kyra Perl but ensure the rest of the Padawan’s didn’t go and get themselves killed. On top of tracking down the Rodian? That was going to be one hell of a tall order to fill even if they had help of the Outer Planets Alliance.

When the blaster fire shots rang through the air Lon lost his chance at keeping hidden there was no point in holding the force cloaks surrounding everyone anymore. The room broke out into pure chaos as the Jedi master fell to the floor lifeless. Almost in an instant the room sparked into action. He lost that chance at being subtle the minute the the other Jedi had interfered. If master Qul’Dor had just kept his mouth shut and stopped being an overconfident jerk it could have turned out differently and he wouldn’t have ended up dead. So much for being subtle.

Throughout the ensuing chao tables were thrown, masses of people began scurrying away to save their own skins. Typical low lives Lon thought, when life gets tough they run away. Lon used the ensuing chaos as a cover grabbing his lightsaber from the clip on his belt he thumbed the switch. The saber humming to life he ran towards the rest of the group using his saber deflecting the continuous of barrage of blaster bolts. The situation needed to be contained before it escalated anymore otherwise they would have lost their chance at finding the other captives.

He had to fight his way through the remaining crowd only to find Kyra Perl Kyra Perl holding a lightsaber to the Hutt’s neck

"Let them go. Or I'll kill you myself."

Bodris began to laugh, no doubt to spite the Padawan who was chained up in a scantily clad dress. It was all a sick twisted game that the Hutt. Lon had to talk her down. One wrong move and it would just make a bad situation even worse. In most circumstances even the most dire ones Lon knew that Kyra wouldn’t dare be in a position to kill someone unless she was desperate and given the circumstances he didn’t blame her one bit.

“STAND DOWN Kyra Perl Kyra Perl ” His voice boomed drawing the attention of the others in the room Lon didn’t care for the glances that were thrown around as he began running towards them. Right now he only had two goals in mind keeping the integrity of the mission and making sure Kyra Perl Kyra Perl didn’t do something she was about to regret. “If you kill him we lose our only solid lead at finding where the rest of captives are, not only that but you risk teetering on the edge of darkness. Do you really want that?” removing the hood that covered his face pleading with the Padawan.

The Repertoire shot out of Hyperspace just as Connor Harrison Connor Harrison had tried to contact the other members of the Order, and while Caedyn asked Lexus to try to identify the IFF Tags of the Dynasty Class Freighter, he also found himself waiting for a response from Master Qel'dor...-Which never arrived.

"Connor Harrison, this is Caedyn Arenais on approach from your port-side. I'm meant to rendezvous with the rest of our people on the ground, and you're welcome to join us. I know your name well, as did my Father know the Heavenshields. I'd be grateful for the company, Master" Caedyn referred to Connor by his former Jedi title as a form of respecting the past and his previous dedication to the Silver Jedi.

Having said this, he could not shake the feeling of concern in that the Comm's remained silent from their team down on the surface of Altor 14. "Lexas, nevermind the Freighter, I know who that is. Try and locate Master Qel'dor or Kyra...-Any of the others".

The Jedi Knight's Corvette came up alongside the Dynasty Class Freighter, the thrusters slowing to an even drift alongside Harrison's own vessel. "Master, it appears as though Master Qel'Dor's last point of reference was recorded in the coordinates of the Palace of Bordris the Hutt" Lexas informed Caedyn, his jaw setting in tight as this more or less confirmed his suspicions. Something really felt off about all of this.

"Relay those coordinates over to the other ship, please Lex" Caedyn replied to his droid co-pilot, "I'm probably going to have some company heading down there. I've a feeling I may need it".

Over on the other vessel, should Connor approve of the transmission's arrival to his vessels comm-systems, the coordinates of where their peoples last known location would be displayed upon access. It seemed as though the old Master of the Silver Jedi had returned at pivotal timing. The Force truly did work in mysterious ways.

An odd sort of silence fell across the room. The angry hum of lightsaber continued, but the Jedi were for the most part surrounded by weapons. Many unfriendly. Some were members of the OPA that merely seemed unfriendly. The silence felt as fragile as sugar glass.

Bodris the Hutt laughed with as much confidence as a slug with a lightsaber to its face could be.

"Bodris does not care for these jedi. If you lower your blade I will not harm them. They can be sold at the next slave auction. Along with you," translated the droid.

He waved one stubby hand towards Eldin Daine Eldin Daine and Veino Garn Veino Garn and more of his loyal - relatively speaking - guards to take the Jedi padawan away. He eyed Kyra, daring her to strike.

Acaadi lowered his saber, thumbing it off. He couldn't quote believe how suddenly and irreversibly this had gone wrong. His gaze fell to the robes of the departed jedi master, then looked back up at Kyra.

"Lower your weapons," he hissed to his fellow padawans. If they were carried away there was still a chance they could escape. They weren't fighting their way out of this.

Spinning slightly in the pilots chair, looking out of the viewport, Connor didn't miss the Corvette moving towards him. There was no danger, and thankfully a return message crackled through as he watched the impressive ship come beside him. It was the Jedi's name that caught him off guard. Caedyn Arenais, son of former Queen Kay and the late Veiere. Had NPC Treasury NPC Treasury contacted him and told him - or warned him? - about Connor making contact?

His mind raced as Caedyn continued to speak, but had to put their meeting in the hands of the Force. There was no other explanation. If Caedyn was here with "his people", he would mean the Silver Jedi. It seemed the one string he hadn't been able to cut was that of the Silver Jedi he knew from their founding days on Voss.

A small smile tugged the side of his lip as he received coordinates and instruction.

"Copy that Caedyn. I'll follow you down."

Keeping the Corvette in his sight, Connor flipped control back to manual and would follow to the coordinates and see just what was going on.

"I'm not too sure, I once saw a Jedi shoot light out of their hands." A serious demeanour quickly tucked itself away into the back of his heart as Amani Serys Amani Serys ducked behind the table with him, something he had learned to do from a young age. "Bodris could always be a rave baby."

The amount of blaster fire and lack of Bodris dancing quickly disproved that theory, blaster fire lighting up the area around the table like a pizza with some lights around the edges.

"But yeah looks like we might have to get comfortable here."

A winning smile hardly helped to make his incorrigible attitude more acceptable under the circumstances. At least the pair wouldn't be stuck behind the table for a particularly long time. Mostly because some nerf herder managed to take Acaadi Acaadi hostage.

All Kiegan could offer the Mirialan was a shrug as she sat there, perhaps some of the anger boiling under his skin if she was savvy enough. Either way, all Kiegan could do was lift himself and throw his lightsaber to the floor below. Master Qul'Dor wouldn't want Kiegan to risk the lives of others for revenge, a wise man dead too soon.

"You tell Bodris to double chip me, droid!" A cocky smile that didn't seem to fit his sharpened eyes. "I have a thing for comeback stories."

If the threat wasn't lost in translation, Kiegan hoped cracking his neck and knuckles would help get it across.

Atasihd didn't need a droid translating to understand what the Hutt was saying.

Krasst.

The hand fell away from his face, and he ground his teeth, set his jaw. Becoming a slave wasn't something he ever wanted, but it was still better than dead, and there was a chance they could escape with the smaller number of assailants escorting them out, much as Acaadi Acaadi realised. As such, he tucked the knife back away in his robes, to join the other knives hidden in other locations on his person, frowning as he did so.

Don't like feeling helpless.

He was going to have to dive into as much training as he could get away with, if they got out of this... with a grimace, he carefully rose to his feet, a short wave of dizziness washing over him, causing Sid to stumble a tad backward, then put himself forward again, one hand on a barrel to steady himself until the feeling passed.

Born standin' up and takin' back.
There was a slight sense of hope in all this, Bodris at this point, did not suspect the OPA so Eldin’s half assed plan had worked, for now at least. He did not waist any time just in case Bodris changed his mind. With a wave of his hand toward Veino and the other operative to gather up all the Jedi and move them out. Acaadi kept a firm eye on the girl chained to the Hutt, Eldin had noticed the pull on the force between the two, and recognised familiarity, so the girls a Jedi too.

But first things first, they needed to get out of here before they could work out a plan to go back for her. “Come on, move out”, he pointed his pistol in Acaadi’s back, he hoped none of the other Jedi would do something foolish and try to make a stand.

As soon as the moment allow, Eldin leaned close to his ‘captive’. “I’m OPA, keep movin’ and we’ll get outta this yet”. He hoped somehow this Jedi would signal to the others to stand down until they could get to safety. And then OPA can find out exactly what SJO are doing all this way out here, surely they didn’t need all these Jedi to rescue one padawan.

There had to be more to it.

Amani joined the others in surrendering her saber, gently placing it on the ground without having even used it. She stood slowly and tensed up, the recognition of just how terribly everything had gone wrong finally hitting her. None of the heroic Jedi tales she learned growing up ended in such an undignified way. And like most people, Amani had no desire for her life story to end with an abrupt career change into slave trafficking.

But, she also really didn’t want anyone else here to die. She saw no other options. The padawan glanced around at her peers one more time as if to confirm that this was actually happening, before looking back down at the ground dejectedly, waiting to be further escorted by the guards. Countless thoughts with varying degrees of realism raced through her mind as they proceeded, still unaware that there was a chance they could get out of this yet.

Being a slave was gonna suck.

===========================

Veino slipped behind the rest of them, following along the bundle of padawans, with the scattergun still on his shoulder, but his free hand rested in a hidden pocket of his coat, until they were far enough away, and then he sent a ripple through the Force and a message to those amongst the padawans who had the means to receive telepathy- Veino Garn. Saarai-Kar of the Jensaarai and ORION operative. We'll help you all out.

He didn't know for sure who would be able to hear it, but they should all be able to feel the ripple of friendliness through the Force. His eyes darted from side to side and as they turned corners, he would pause to look behind them. But there wasn't much yet that he could do until they all figured out what they were doing here, what they hoped to accomplish, and a plan for extraction, not to mention the other one left behind for the moment, and whoever else was on this rock. If anything, he preferred a steal infiltration and extraction mission. Gas the chamber with a sleeping agent, sneak in, get the girl, and get out.

Granted, Hutts were not easy to knockout, but they could take on a single Hutt.

Kyra wavered, her confidence brought down as her peers, one by one, surrendered their weapons. ... Okay, that wasn't helping her here! Acaadi's firm demand that she drop her own was met by a watering look of disbelief.

"But-"

Amani dropped hers. Kiegan. Atasihd.

Kyra stood as the only one with a saber out, and it took a long moment for her to accept that this would have to change. She grimaced, the saber snapping closed and her force barrier whisping out. The saber slipped from her fingers, clattering onto the floor with all the rest. ...She could still retrieve it again...

Her gaze was dark and ruminating as she stared at the man holding a gun to her best friend ever!- 's head. A foreign voice entered her mind. Her eyes widened.

Veino Garn. Saarai-Kar of the Jensaarai and ORION operative. We'll help you all out.

The darkness disappeared in a puff, a bit of wild hope flickering across her as she watched her friends get rounded out and escorted out. Without her. It her was her turn to shake her head at Acaadi, a firm gesture not to resist. Leave her here. Take the lifeline and go.

No thought for herself entered her head, the girl doing all she could to stand tall under the panicked gaze of her peers as they began to get escorted out. She was petrified. Unreservedly. But she kept it in, a part of her knowing that if she showed any sign of need, her friends would turn around for her.

And they'd be slaughtered.

But as the group began to be escorted out, a set of hands moved in for her. You dont just threaten a hutt then sit there unaddressed. As Acaadi stepped into the dimly lit hall, the sound of her cry and a thump would reach him. To the two still hidden in the room, her sister and the boy toy who would TOTALLY NOT HAVE KYRA'S APPROVAL-- they'd see the bounty hunter bring the but of a blaster over Kyra's temple.

Once the padawan was down, they knelt to secure her hands.

"Put her in the pitts." Ordered the hutt, as the tension slowly began to disperse out of the room.

The hand slipping around Yula’s waist was enough to unbalance her. The hand on the carbine stopped mid-raise, and she nearly growled as Enlil whispered a warning into her ear. He was right, of course—launching into the offensive right now would put them all at higher risk and drive up the casualties.

But seeing her little sister in chains shook her to her very core. Kyra was in imminent danger, and her strongest instinct was to secure her sister’s safety. Yula wasn’t bad with operations that required a reasonable measure of patience, but even waiting a few minutes made her incredibly unsettled.

“Get off me, weirdo.” She shoved the blonde with her shoulder after reigning in her immediate impulse to headshot the Hutt. “That’s my baby sister chained to that thing.” She hissed, lowly enough so that her words only drifted between them. Mom would have already painted the walls of this place, right? Yula wasn’t sure how that woman worked.

The mood in the room shifted, blaster bolts lanced towards the Jedi, and the low thrum of lightsabers being drawn gave way to an eerie silence. Then the surrender.

Now relieved of their master, the padawans were being rounded up for slave fodder. Her eyes searched for Kyra just in time to see her knocked unconscious by the butt of a blaster, and Yula suppressed a noise of distress.

"Put her in the pitts."

Oh no.

Still sticking to their scoundrel role, Yula tilted her head towards the scene and strode forward, one hand on the carbine. She cast a glance down at the unconscious Zeltron, fortunate that the helmet she wore concealed her grave expression.

“Looks like she’s got some Zeltron in her. Wouldn’t she be worth selling?”

She looked to the other bounty hunter—the one who'd knocked her out—and shrugged. Her trigger finger itched, and she'd meander along to wherever they were taking her kin, waiting for an opportunity.

Kyra was unconscious, but she reached out to her anyway, whispering through the Force.

“Idiot.”

The first impression he had of Jedi was contemplative, calm, and level headed. Caedyn Arenais and the King spoke at length on the circumstances of the modern Galaxy, on the nature of Sith, and of the Jedi Order. He was fast finding that there were no hard and specific rules governing their true nature. While they were expected to uphold a general code of conduct, as long as they did so there was a certain freedom they could enjoy within those boundaries.

That led them to a scantily clad girl chained to a massive slug. Kyra Perl Kyra Perl stood in defiance of her captor, lightsaber ignited and fighting spirit ablaze until the blunt end of a weapon snuffed both. When Yula Perl Yula Perl pushed him away, he opened both palms upward and took a step back to show his innocence in the matter.

"Sister?" he looked between the two, though the armor Yula adopted for this mission put her at a stark contrast with the underdressed female slumped on the floor. "I can't see a resemblance," he muttered quietly as his eyes rolled. Be nice if I could, he mused.

The truth was, there was a flame just like the other girl's in her elder sister. Yula just had someone step in before she let it burn her. Enlil noted that the calm never returned to the woman he'd come here with, and he wasn't about to relax while that was true.

These Jedi are impulsive. He looked between the group that surrendered and back to Yula. He gestured toward Veino Garn Veino Garn to get the others out of the room and regroup. Meanwhile, he had to make sure his partner didn't leap before she looked.

"It's going to be fine," he told her. "Men don't chain women to themselves who they intend to kill, do they?"

Acaadi felt his heart leap up and into his throat when Kyra shook her head at him. He tried to reach back down along the connection, to try and reassure her that everything would be alright. The connection was abruptly severed.

He felt a flash of panic. The last ray of hope before he was truly gone was catching sight of a familiar zeltron. Yula. Kyra's sister. She had to help.

"What are the OPA doing here?" he hissed out of the corner of his mouth. This wasn't the first time they'd crossed paths accidentally. They had both been working to the same goals, but not together, as Kessel.

He stretched out with the Force towards Amani Serys Amani Serys and Kiegan Lysle Kiegan Lysle to try and reassure them.

Lon’s words fell on deaf ears as the room grew to a standstill, the hutt still had the lightsaber against his throat. Kyra Perl Kyra Perl had no intention of heeding the more experienced Jedi’s advice. The room sparked in action again as the padawan turned off the lightsaber and dropped it on the floor, the other’s following her lead. They were going to surrender? Given the circumstances it was the best course of action but knowing Kyra she wouldn’t go down without a fight or unless someone told her to, someone she respected enough.

Lon looked around the room as he eyed Acaadi Acaadi then it started to click. He was the one who told her to drop their weapons. The Padawan’s had escaped within an inch of their lives. Lon thumbed off his lightsaber making a show of dropping it on the ground but secretly tucking it into his boot. At least he wouldn’t be going in their completely defenseless.

Lon had skills within the force but he knew he couldn’t exactly rely on them he wasn’t as great at using them offensively except for their supplemental uses. He knew that since the Outer Planets Alliance was involved they must had a contingency plan in place. The best thing to do was follow their lead.

The Repertoire descended upon the outskirts of Bordris the Hutt's Palace; Caedyn Arenais none the wiser over what had become of his Padawan and the rest of the Jedi team there on Altor 14. "This is Caedyn Arenais to any and all Silver Jedi Personnel. Do you read me. Over." the Jedi Knight spoke into his commlink over a broad-range public channel as he strolled down the landing ramp of his Ship.

It would be mere moments before Connor Harrison Connor Harrison would touch down nearby, and Cae felt quite openly relieved to have the company of another Master of reputable experience along side him.

Clanking his way down the landing ramp behind Caedyn came his droid co-pilot sounding most concerned for their new locale. "Master Caedyn, We seem dreadfully close to the Palace. Do you not feel she would relocate to somewhere more...Discrete?".

"I appreciate your concern Lexus but I want them to know we're coming" Caedyn replied, turning his gaze towards the Hutt's Palace with something of a dry, skeptical look. "This isn't exactly friendly territory and if anything's gone wrong, Master Harrison and I may be forced to deal with it but before we know for certain, I think it's best they see that our team have friends on the way", he also had an almost insulting sense of honesty in situations like these.

Caedyn didn't like the idea of hiding their presence as it proved to be deceitful from the beginning and would likely encourage hostility more so than anything. Yet there was the other side of the coin in that their arrival might also serve to intimidate their soon to be Host.

The feeling of assurance that Acaadi Acaadi sent out was block by the rising anger and frustration that the Hapan felt, a gun being driven into the small of his back hardly helping the feelings. A muffled grunt of pain that Kiegan couldn't fully suppress came out, the area being pressured on the opposite side of his recent brush with death.

His arm twitched for a second, only the small part of his brain that knew the others would pay for his actions preventing him from driving his elbow into the soldiers helmet.

But as much as he wanted to make threats, ones he would live up to or not, there was a padawan girl beside him. And if his upbringing taught him anything, reassuring your friends was better than aggrivating your allies.

"Well, worth a shot eh?" A smile cracking through his lips as he turned to Amani Serys Amani Serys . "I think I'll look great in a slave-kini at least."

Humour was always a reliable ally, even if it had to press through the well of anger Kiegan was holding on to.

A couple of clicks from Bodris’ palace, The Hearse cargo bay filled with cages housed the last of the slaves from Silver Jedi space. The cattle from Outer Planets Alliance had already been transported hours ago, this was the last run. And now the ship only awaited its captain.

There was hesitation in the man, he looked on the proceedings within the main palace room with great interest from the alcove in the shadows. His presence masked to those that are fuelled with the force, of either side of the spectrum. He was no friend or foe to either side, all of them self-righteous in their beliefs, pandering to their sense of justice and forgiveness. Especially the Jedi, they sickened him the most. There is only one way to deal with sin and it is swift. The Jedi need to be punished, for their lack of fortitude in this regard. They perpetuate the problem with their weakness to put an end it.

The OPA were here, now that was a problem. They had been hunting the Dark Judges for some time now, and although he and his colleagues had alluded them, now they are getting too close for comfort. His eyes narrowed, darking with the lack of light and the curl of his lips exposed hardened teeth. The girl chained to Bodris, had been promised to him, to have at his leisure and he was going to have her slowly. Soup of the lightside is the most delectable of all. He snarled and turned away at the thought of his loss.

Through a back corridor, he walked with pace as the tension in the main room thickened. He was not interested in lived or died, his only thought was to get the slaves out before the OPA and SJO caught up with him. He was about to leave when before him stood a Jedi Padawan in his path, a little young thing, a girl, pretty too. “Hello my dear”. She did not answer him, but ignited her saber.

So quaint.

With one hand he pulled the saber from her hand, the other held her in a choke and lifted her off the ground. Slowly he walked toward her, allowing just enough air through to her lungs to keep her alive. He had to give her credit for trying, for having the fortitude to confront him and what was even more delectable was she wanted to kill him. Prove herself maybe. What a life she would have had in front of her. Oh, so strong in the force too, master material of this was going to be delicious.

He was only inches from her face, she was faced with the reality of it and fear surged through her body, her heart and soul. “Oh .. don’t spoil”, fear is so corrupting to the younglings and sours their soup. The Undertakers proboscises issued from his face and plunged into the pretty padawan, he would have loved to have savoured it more, drink in the girl’s essence with time.

Her body fell to the ground, she was dead. He arranged her neatly, placing her legs straight, hand folded across her chest, and he place two OPA Talons over her eyes. He stepped over her body and left.

Amani received both the telepathic message and Acaadi’s reassurance, sighing in relief as the new opportunity came to light. The muzzle of a blaster nudged against her back, and the padawan quickly postured a bit more tensely again, not wanting to come off as suspiciously content with her circumstance to any of the Hutt’s loyal guards.

Amani turned and glanced at Kiegan concernedly, sensing that he was suppressing his anger behind his quips. Still the mirialan played along, snorting quietly and giving him a bemused smile, “I was hoping we could skip past the slave-kini part of the job altogether, actually.”

Her eyes occasionally flicked back over to the others, trying to get any sort of insight as to where they go from here without drawing attention.

They were led to many of the side Chambers in the vast Palace. Acaadi stopped and looked around. Apparently the OPA had a whole host of people inside the Palace already.

"We already found out where the slaves are going kid," Eldin Daine Eldin Daine announced.

Acaadi visibly deflated. Not only had they barged I here unannounced, but the job had already been done by someone far more competent working out here in wild space. And now Kyra was being shipped off too. He didn't feel angry or sad, he was blocked by a wall of sheer shock.

Then came a ripple in the Force as T The Undertaker ended the life of a jedi padawan as he escaped. Not a quick death like their master. He could feel the anguish of this life being extinguished.

"We have to go after them!"

OOC/ time to wrap this one up. We will be starting a new thread for the next part tomorrow, where we go after the slavers and try to rescue Kyra.
