Private The Prince...of Parrlay...

"Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires."

--Niccolo Machiavelli

Much had been fretted about in the build up to bring Prince Veruna over for Dinner. At first, the question had been whether or not to bring him aboard something larger, grander, like one of their warships.

But Politics was a factor Nathan wasn't used to. Bring him aboard something too large and you risked coming off as showy. Bring him aboard something too well armed and you risked making him feel threatened. Bring him aboard something too small and you risked insulting him. Bring him aboard something too common and you'd come off as such. Bring him aboard something with no teeth and you'd come off as weak.

In the End, The Family had decided that the best middle ground was their newly furnished Summer Retreat, a mobile if slow luxury space station called the Solace of Atrisia. It was currently hovering directly above Naboo's star at a safe enough distance that no special shields would be necessary, nor was any ship that approached in danger of being dragged into the star's gravity, nor would they need special shields either during approach.

The Station was essentially a giant estate for the Bloodscrawls, made for Diplomatic gatherings and hosting such men. There was a Gothic Spendor, dissimilar from Naboo Sensibilities. Luxurious, yet somehow grim at the same time.

Vera delicately trimmed Nathan's hair and beard in the privacy of the gigantic luxury Refresher that doubled as a Barbershop in one section.

"Everything must be picturesque, my dear Husband..." the biological abomination he had married said delicately as she trimmed him (Provided Thel showed up, she would have offered to give him a slight but precise trim also). "We must look our absolute best for a visiting dignitary. And we must suppress our inherently bizarre natures."

"It feels odd, doing all this. I'm no politician, Vera. I dunno how to be." Nathan said.

"From what you told me, you got his attention. Often, all it takes is being yourself. You must simply project confidence, competency, and strength more than normal without overdoing it. Men like Veruna do not suffer fools gladly. But you are likely one of the first Jedi who ever openly agreed with his views. That got him intrigued...good job..." Vera assured.

"I'm glad you're with me. All of you..." he said.

Vera kissed him. "So am I..."

Soon, Nathan was fully trimmed and as ready as he was going to be. He made one last inspection of everything through the security systems before proceeding to the hangar to await Veruna 's arrival, Vera around his arm. Nathan always greeted guests in person.

Sera joined him first on the route.

"Can I pick Interior design or what?" Sera boasted quietly.

"Oh yes, Daughter...very much..." Nathan said. Sera had become indispensable in their family structure. Nathan adored her completely...

His adoptive Mother, Magdalena, joined them on the journey to the Hangar next.

"Remember, My Son, this Man is extremely Dangerous. He sold out his own father. Any weakness will make him bold. He may have a point about what is necessary to safeguard the Republic, but do not forget his capacity for treachery lest we all end up at his mercy...of which I suspect he will have none in that scenario..."

"I'll be careful, Mother..." he assured.

All three of his blonde, artificial sisters were the last to join him. Whatever thoughts they had were kept to themselves as they at last reached the Hangar, which had the same Gothic design scheme as the rest. Hopefully, his adopted Son and Daughter would soon be here.

But whether or not they showed, soon, The Prince's ship would arrive, with whoever he wanted to bring in order to feel safe.

"Prince Veruna. I welcome you to my vessel..." Nathan said with a nod. "You've already met my daughter, Sera..."

"A pleasure, Prince Veruna..." Sera said with a shark like smile she had learned from the Prince himself. Even with the fall of the Core, Sera was recognized as the heart of Galaxy Wide humanitarian efforts, evacuating millions from the Core so far.

"Allow me to introduce you to my Wife, Vera..."

"A delight..." Vera said, her curving smirk hiding secrets. She was infamous not too long ago as one of the most skilled lawyers in the core worlds, having never lost a case.

"My mother, The Jedi Master Magdalena Bloodscrawl..."

"Greetings, Prince of Parrlay..." Magdalena said with her warmest smile, though her eyes studied him clinically. She had gained a reputation as a very powerful Force Healer in Republic Space.

"And if course, my Sisters, Melissa, Meleena, and Melinda..." Nathan said, the sisters themselves having gained a reputation as skilled warriors after only a few months in Republic Space.

"An honor, Prince Veruna." Melissa said, with a Nod.

"Welcome aboard..." Meleena said with a slight bow

"Hi!" Melinda chirped enthusiastically, having never met a Prince before.

The Naboo yacht, ferrying him to the Solace of Atrisia, presented a striking contrast. It was sleek and ceremonial, yet bristled with concealed weapons and was escorted by a Veruna Guard squadron in polished obsidian armor. He strode down the ramp with the confident ease of a man who had never known denial.

His royal attire, Naboo silks tailored close and dark with black threads, seemed practical despite its elegance, catching the hangar's light. A subtle shimmer near his collar hinted at the discreet energy field of a personal shield generator.

Behind him, Veruna Guards fanned out in a disciplined formation. Their gleaming helmets stood out against the station's Gothic splendor.

Aurelian paused at the ramp's base, his eyes sharp with curiosity as he took in the gathered hosts. Nathan stood at their head, possessing a Jedi's bearing, though his posture lacked the typical rigidity. Aurelian found the man's presence refreshingly unorthodox. Next to Nathan was his daughter, Sera. Aurelian's smile lingered on her, recalling their first exchange, her keen mind and practical nature. He studied the others in turn: the wife with her lawyer's smirk, the mother with healer's hands and predator's eyes, and the sisters, sharp like blades freshly forged. A strange, dangerous brood, he thought, and he liked that.

When he finally spoke, his voice was courtly and easy, yet carried an undeniable undertone of command. "Nathan Bloodscrawl," Aurelian said, his syllables touched with wry amusement. "You honor me with such a reception. And Sera, ever radiant."

He descended the few feet, inclining his head just enough to acknowledge Vera, Magdalena, and the sisters. His gaze was measuring but polite. "And this must be the family," he continued, his smile curving with charm and a hidden edge. "It's rare to see a house so united. Naboo could certainly learn a thing or two." One of his guards stepped forward as though to intercept, but Aurelian lifted a hand, stopping them. He preferred to walk into the lion's den on his own terms. "Shall we, then?" he said lightly, a dangerous grin flashing as his eyes darted to the vaulted doors of the Solace. "I'm most curious to see what you've prepared."
