Name: The Primeval Prisoners

Image: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Merc-349248555

Intent: To supplement the Primeval army

Affiliation: Primeval

Availability: Uncommon

Type: Infantry

Strength: 100

Description: As their namesake describes The Primeval Prisoners, are indeed prisoners of the Primeval who would normally be kept in the Imperial Dungeons on Bastion. But these aren’t just your run of the mill, K-mart blue light special prisoners. They have been plucked specifically by high ranking officers of The Banners - the Primeval Army and Navy forces - and trained to be gladiator-style to be warriors for the various Primeval religious crusades. After inspecting the caliber of the prisoners which were being incarcerated into the dungeon, the Banners thought too many strong and capable men were being locked away and executed. These recruits are given the choice - fight for the Primeval or be executed. To help strengthen their loyalty, the Banners will also try and indoctrinate them into the Primeval religion and hope that through their newfound zealotry they will remain ardently devoted to battle.

Once the prisoners are turned into warriors they basically become battle-serfs, trading room and board for their skills in warfare. They will never truly earn their freedom by they are well-treated and occasionally honored with feasts and accolades. They are geared with anything available in the Primeval armory. The Primeval prisoners are mostly male, human, near-human and with some alien races.

Strengths:

- extremely strong, powerful and well trained by the Banners to be fighters
- since the alternative is execution, they are willing fighters and will sometimes fight to the death

Weaknesses:

- prone to desertion on the battlefield in order to gain their freedom
- depending on who they are fighting they also may surrender to try and also gain their freedom or a better life
- the more sociopathic ones, which were already incarcerated for murder are at risk of turning on each other

Okay a few things, and thank you for the links to their equipment :)
  • Are there multiple divisions of 100 or is it 100 men total?
  • Can you list out their strengths and weaknesses in a list style please?
  • Can you add into the description why these officers wanted to conscript and train these men when they would know these men would not be the most loyal forces?

Edits made. Specifically to the third request: After inspecting the caliber of the prisoners which were being incarcerated into the dungeon, the Banners thought too many strong and capable men were being locked away and executed. These recruits are given the choice - fight for the Primeval or be executed. To help strengthen their loyalty, the Banners will also try and indoctrinate them into the Primeval religion and hope that through their newfound zealotry they will remain ardently devoted to battle.
