The Paecian Empire: Q&A

iCIFdwm.png

Welcome to the Faction Advertisement and Q&A of the Paecian Empire. Here you'll find some of the answers to the more common questions; and you're more than welcome to ask more below. Hope you enjoy!

What is the Paecian Empire?

The Paecian Empire is a political entity that once dominated a portion of the Galaxy during the Old Republic era. During the height of its existence, life within the nation was considered to be utopian; despite the existence of a caste system. However, the Paecian Empire began to crumble when civil conflict produced significant, internal weakness; and full collapse was caused when the neighboring nations took advantage of this grievous opening.

Reduced to little more than its capital, the Paecian Empire withdrew itself from the face of the Galaxy. It adopted isolationist policies and relied solely upon the fruits of its capital world for survival. For eons, the Paecian Empire silently awaited an opportunity to reveal itself to the Galaxy and to reclaim that which it had lost. That time is now.

Under the leadership of its monarch, the White Empress, the Paecian Empire has resurfaced with a single goal. By fire, by sword, by war and conquest, they shall reclaim that which is rightfully theirs: the Galaxy.

How is the Paecian Empire organized?

At present, the Paecian Empire operates on a feudal system of sorts. The White Empress holds power supreme over the whole of the nation, and her station is maintained without question from those below her. The next rung in the ladder are the Five Ministries. Each Ministry, headed by an aptly-named Minster, oversees a major sphere of the Empire's operations. These consist of:
  • The Ministry of Relations
  • The Ministry of Intelligence
  • The Ministry of Finance
  • The Ministry of Justice
  • The Ministry of War
In brief, the Ministry of Relations handles the creation and maintenance of diplomatic relationships for the benefit of the Empire. As such, it's minister is the chief diplomat of the entire nation and is easily one of its more public faces. On the other hand, the Ministry of Intelligence revolves around a much more covert goal. Its goal is the monitoring of the domestic masses for potential dissent whilst also gathering useful information regarding the foreign powers of the Galaxy. To this end, the Minister of Intelligence is one of the most informed individuals in the whole of the Empire.

The Ministry of Finance fulfills a much more benign role within the Paecian Empire. Management and Distribution and of the nation's funds are dictated by this office. As such, significant projects such as daily operations, infrastructure construction, and militant development are all well-funded. Likewise, the Ministry of Justice is charged with the judicial proceedings of the Empire. Those who disrupt the Empress' Peace and are insubordinate to her will are apprehended, tried, and sentenced accordingly. Of course, sentencing may be considered harsh in the eyes of the Galaxy at large; but such is the cost of maintaining the Empress' Peace.

On another note, the Ministry of War is the sole office that sees a change in the role of Minister. As opposed to a single individual holding supreme power over the militant forces of the Empire, the position has been divided amongst four exceptionally talented persons. Known as Overlords, these individuals each command a major portion of the Empire's militant forces. In addition, each Overlord is granted the distinct honor of ruling a quadrant of the Empire's territory in the name of the White Empress.

Ministries aside, the Paecian Empire does not house an explicit order of Force sensitives that exist separate from its regular divisions. Instead, wielders of the Force are integrated directly into the ministries' chains of command with positions based upon ability (i.e. Masters as Generals.) The Empire, as a whole, identifies with the Dark Side and professes itself to be of Sith beliefs. However, the code governing its beliefs is different than that which is commonly uttered by Sith Galaxy-wide:

"Peace is a Lie, there is only Conquest.
Through Conquest, We gain Strength.
Through Strength, We gain Power.
Through Power, We Gain Victory.
Through Victory, Our Enemies Fall.
The Force Shall Conquer All."

-The "Imperial" Sith Code

In light of this particular profession, in addition to emphasizing traits different than the "common" dark siders, some have taken to identifying themselves as "Imperial Sith" to differentiate themselves from the masses.

What sets the Paecian Empire apart from other Dark Side factions?

We aspire to build a stronger generation of Sith through exceptional character development, rather than follow the trend of activity-based promotions. Ours will be those who have tasted the Dark Side, actively grown in its tenets, and will overall be better Sith.

We aspire to be a faction which places an emphasis on the personal goals of its members. Rather than be an entity with a single agenda, we will place priority on the goals of those who have chosen to stand with us. No aspiration is too small and no idea is out of reach. In essence, we aspire to be built and shaped by our members, rather than make their goals a secondary thought.

Lastly, we aspire to be a faction that literally every demographic of character can call home (except Light Siders.) As opposed to expecting any degree of conformity to happen upon joining, the Paecian Empire is organized in such a way that anyone can come as they are and fit in as well as a puzzle piece. From Sith to Smugglers; from Mercenaries to Spies, everyone will have a place within the Empire.

What are the Goals of the Paecian Empire?
  • To Reclaim the Galaxy
  • To Build a Stronger Generation of Sith
  • To Emphasize the Goals of Our Member Base
  • To Blacken the Sun with Our Swagger

The Land of Tacos.

In all seriousness, the Empire operates out of its namesake world: Paecia. A planet submission is currently in progress that will quantify its placement on the Galaxy Map. Of the potential locations that have been discussed, the prime candidate is right off the coast of Neverlan-

Erm. I mean...Bottom right ish area of the map.

Personally, I would like both of our factions to become a little bit more established before a potential alliance could be made. Furthermore, I would have to sit down with my members and discuss whether or not they want an alliance and the pros/cons/plausibility.
