"Automation is heavily a necessity." Damien began, nodding his head at the inorganic, "So you will have a large part in this." He then turned too the one speaking of armed forces, "Your choices i will love to hear. I wish for this planet to be armed tooth and nail with defenses, including policing forces. Whatever you believe will be best, sounds amazing for me. Please, feel free to make some selections, then bring me the ideals behind it."

It was then he turned to the remaining group, "You all, I would like to hear thoughts on the matter. What could you bring to the table? You mention new, and this intrigues me." To the whole group he also added a fun fact, "By the way, your companies will for sure have a home here should you want it. Free of charge being as you are assisting in this endeavor."

Then he stepped toward the group, "So, what are your thoughts? How should i go about this? I know i am planning a multi-layered planetary shielding project, requiring several gates to open to provide access to the planet. But i am also thinking heavy turreting and like." He arched a brow, "So.."

He glanced back to Ashin, "Would you please get in communications with Silk? I believe you would get better results than a random pleb like me."

"May I offer a slightly out of the ordinary suggestion, chairman?"

"The IMF focuses mainly on the production of droid based ships, and with what you've just suggested, I'm sure we could create some sort of node field capable of sustaining a -- if temporary -- orbital shield, capable of stopping projectiles, and most importantly, enemy forces from entering. This would require the effort of more than just us, however, for the investment, it would be a capable weapon that would surely secure your place as a galactic trader."

Gesturing once more, the Neimodian spoke.

"The best defense is a mobile one, and with mobile turret emplacements, I'm sure we would be able to secure a future for everybody, and possibly even galactic powers."

"Indeed. If anything, I would say that with all of us currently at the table right now, this task might not only be feasible, but possibly could be re-sold as a powerful tool for individuals, for possibly millions, or even billions, of credits."

"What do you say?"

Ardgal pursed his lips, running the requirements through his head. He could, and would, use his tanks for the required business contract, that was not an issue after all. Droids seemed to be very well covered, as did interplanetary defense. But for the ground level, he would add a new layer of defense, one that would be hard-pressed to be beaten.

"Most planetary assaults do end up making it to ground level," he said with a wry smile. The general tapped furiously for a moment on his datapad, quickly bringing up a series of prototype blue prints he had in mind. "In my personal opinion that is where the real problem takes place, since they can not only destroy your things, they can steal them." He tapped for a moment more as he spoke, "Insurance can handle damages, losses, and things like that, but theft? That is another story. The idea then, is to create a network of defense on the ground."

He tapped a button on the datapad one last time, and a holographic display of a city appeared, high lighted in red, purple, green, and yellow were several different defensive batteries.

"A network that overlaps each other, with anti-tank, anti-infantry, anti-bomber, and anti-orbital capacities," he said tapping the table, "Manned by droids, if you wish, and and concentrating on the locations of your power plant, head quarters, and any other hard point you feel is needed in protection. The key is massive decentralization, so that taking down one hard point doesn't send your whole system crashing, and the overlapping method means even doing so is highly costly--if not impossible. But your going to have to think of a way to provide that much power, I am afraid."

Sensors popped, signals came in, another ship exited into the nearby space. Unexpected, or tremendously late, a Royal-class patrol frigate had entered the system. "This is Royal-class 'Throne' requesting permission for entry, continuing on requested coordinate vector from Castle Galderra, on behalf of King Eddak and Galderra Royal Treasury, over," a pilot chirped up over the radio. "King Eddak, on behalf of Galderra Royal Treasury has arrived per request of assistance; always willing to lend a helping hand to the lesser knowns of the galaxy to defend against those who want to control you. Requesting landing or docking guidance and clearance when ready, over."

Eddak stood on the bridge as he looked out the window, "I think they want to put a bunch of factories here," he continued, pointing out at the planet, "what do you make of it?" he asked the couple of engineers he brought with him. "It's certainly suitable for a ring station, as long as the gravitational pull isn't too strong or too weak, but you aren't planning for us to actually stay here and build, are you?" Eddak chuckled and crossed his arms, grinning, "of course not. We're too busy at home to leave you here. But we will have you slaving over a table and painstakingly draw up plans for hours on end so that we can make a profitable deal and a strong friend out of this situation." The group chuckled a little, one engineer shaking his head. "Let me know when I can meet the mastermind, crew," Eddak said loudly to the bridge crew, "I want to shake the hand of the man that will share a dream with me."

Mobility, overlapping, autonomy. Those were three areas that Ultimatum was certain in. The danger an enemy that made it to the ground could be minimized in a single stroke. The galactic warfare in recent eras had evolved to the point that it was hilariously reliant on starship support. Without access to aid from starships, invading armies were incapable of obtaining supplies, weapons, communication, and more beside. The Achilles heel of the entire combat form of the present day was that it heavily relied on that one element. The fact that defenders only had to maintain a strong air defense and the landed enemies would be severely limited in their abilities.

While a landed force could cause much damage left to it own devices, the fact that when an army landed on a new world they had no support, method of obtaining supplies, or any foundation upon which to work, made it necessary to be completely reliant on their lifeline to their fleets and allies. Air-defenses were a high priority then. It worked towards two advantages, firstly it made an enemy force landing all the more difficult and then when a force did manage to penetrate the defenses would find themselves in a more precarious situation than they had been in previously. More importantly, since they were building defenses rather than invasion forces, it was possible to build far larger equipment. Mobility always took away from firepower. A cannon built onto a star destroyer would be more limited than one built into a mountain.

"Perhaps as a defensive world it should have a heavy focus on anti-starcraft and other forms of airships. Obviously other defenses are a must, but with an outstanding air defense nothing could break through the defenses and anything that did would find itself alone and without support." Ultimatum meant it as an idea, little more. In the current standing he knew that his advice would be heeded, whether or not it would be acted upon.
