"It's all gonna fall apart if we try to give it our all now. But once we've got a couple hours of rest in us… We'll go all out. Do something crazy. And then tonight, after that, we'll do something even crazier… Something to make sure you won't forget me while you're gone."

Something even crazier than what we’ve been doing… like going on a ‘real’ date?” she whispered with a soft snort. His hand on her hip and his lips against her neck made her sigh. “I won’t forget you.

She lay still for a time, savoring every inch of him, until she carefully pulled away and turned over on her other side, spending a few moments just drinking in the sight of him tangled up in the sheets. The more they got to know each other, the more attractive Cato became to her, his flaws fading into the background as her feelings for him grew. She was certainly in love with him by now, though perhaps she couldn’t say she loved him yet. Not everyone knew the difference.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Maybe separating the two of them for a little while would be good in some way. They had already skipped all the prerequisites to a relationship, unwilling to keep their hands off each other. A fire like that could burn up quickly and fizzle out. If they took a break and kept the fire going in the meantime, it would last longer. A more sustainable love.

She was looking for silver linings, trying to find some hidden blessing in it all. Hugging up to him, she kissed his lips and let her head rest against the pillow, closing her eyes. She wasn’t sure if she could sleep now, but it was worth a shot. If not, at least she would be with him.

Cato laughed, "Guess that would be pretty crazy," He sighed, "I'd offer, but there's not exactly a lot of date-worthy places around here." Maybe if they ever managed to find some time outside of Narsh for themselves, it'd be a worthwhile investment.

They laid there like for a little while, until Inanna pulled away, and turned to face him. Cato just stared back, unsure what was happening at first. He blinked, and felt a swell of confidence, as he realized she was admiring him. He was doing the same he supposed, his gaze sliding along the curves of her body, now tastefully obscured by the sheets. But he wouldn't be feeling the way he did if she was just a smoking hot piece of action. She was certainly that, and it didn't hurt, but Cato had become so smitten with her because of who she was as a person. He had become so used to the gritty reality of Narsh, that seeing this woman show even a semblance of altruism piqued his interest. An interest that was well-placed, thus far.

But now they were being tested. He hoped the dream wasn't coming to an end.
