The Makings of a Master

There were times when even the most unwilling of Sith Lords or Jedi Masters found themselves stuck with some sniveling whelp that tugged at their robes and begged to be taught, or begged to be spared in the cases of most Sith. It was rather disappointing when they were generally children, not much older than the younglings of the Jedi Order, with no physical ability to simply lift a lightsaber, much less direct it with purpose. But for a Sith Lord it was extremely fulfilling, and yet scary, to be placed before a younger version of themselves. Not quite a carboncopy, yet not so unlike they remained completely dissimilar in all manners of the word. Rather they mirrored each other much like a mother to a daughter or a father to a son would, in the most eerie of ways. And for Silara, this woman gave her the most interesting of chances yet - though she regretted having to turn away her younger sister some years prior.

They had met during the takeover of Khomm, a planet fueled by a cloning industry that not only flushed it fill with credits but literally acted as a lifeblood for the planet in question, and though she had been completely blind at the time without the force, the galaxy at large had seemingly returned to its proper state for the time being and allowed for Silara return to her ways as a Sith. It was a humbling experience, a break from her fanatical lifestyle with dedication to the Dark Lord absent at the time. She had found love, weakness, and she accepted the burden to give herself something to keep her guard up. [member="Syss Rembala"] was a comfortable change in pace for the Sith Lord, at least in her daily routine. She lacked the enthusiasm others held for going through apprentices like used napkins, much more interested in finding a suitable permanent apprentice to last her until one or the two meet their ends. It was an adaption to the rule of two, which she dreamed of some day bringing back to the galaxy - a future she had foreseen following the fall of the Republic in the coming months. Collapse gave way to instability, and due to the nature of the One Sith it would suffer from such a plague. She, of course, would persist as she always had, and always would. With or without an apprentice, though she'd prefer to retain one if possible.

Enter Syss, an Umbaran Sith acolyte whom was a running contestant for her attention. Between the return of the force and her private engagement with [member="Alric Kuhn"], she wasn't sure where her time would go, but she figured that their first lesson would be symbolic and easy, as well as serve for an ice breaker between the master and apprentice.

Above the planet of Coruscant, floating just beyond orbit, was the massive living ship known as the Aarshlût and sitting in the meditation sphere deep within its bowels was its master Darth Vitium. For the last several years she had faded from the limelight, only to return to duel her previous rival, Graxin Rade, and to allocate a loss on her record during a crucial invasion on Kashyyk. Although the rest of the Sith perhaps did not understand the significance of her defeat, outside of the Voice of the Dark Lord nearly facing death - which was calculated and avoided, in that her stalling of Republic forces by exerting her waves of darkness had been the sole engineering factor in keeping the Wookies and other troops from uniting together to take the shore and resurge back to the tree. But her words had fallen on deaf ears, even her closer allies - [member="Darth Carach"] - having given her a look of disgust, or at the very least disappointment, perhaps anger. However it was within this chamber that the use of the dark side of the force was far more incredible in its effects and even an acolyte could find themselves performing rather interesting feats.

While she awaited the arrival of the Umbaran acolyte several materials were laid out in front of her, each item and part duplicated to allow her apprentice to both observe and work in unison with the Sith Lord. If one was familiar with the inner workings of a lightsaber it was clear that most of the materials laid out were indeed the mechanical portions of such a saber, although there were far too many pieces for the exterior hilt for every piece to come together to form a single saber. Her goal was to allow the apprentice to create a lightsaber that suited her own tastes, fit in her palm, and weigh as much as comfortable, for the lightsaber would be the only constant companion the acolyte would retain through the years, perhaps even into maturity as Silara had retained her own. The major difference between the two piles, however, were the lightsaber crystal assortments laid out for the pair to use. Nearest to Silara was her own Lignan crystal, a black crystal that absolutely reeked of the dark side from being in possession of such a corrupt Sith Lord, while the crystal awaiting Syss was a Dantari crystal, one suitable for an inexperienced wielder of the force due to its properties capable of easing the fatigue caused from using the force.

(I really should have started this earlier, hopefully this will make up for lost time)
