Private The Lost Base Mystery

Lucas Harvey-White Talohn Atar Talohn Atar
A strange signal started to transmit to anyone who could pick it up. Many were uninterested by the signal, upon realizing that it was undecipherable using any piece of machine available. The signal was leading somewhere. But where to? The only true way to find out was to follow the strange trail to its source. But who knows what it is. Could it be a trap, a sanctuary or even a distress call reaching out to the stars begging for help. There was no true way of knowing, until it was found.

The signal would lead anyone into the Unknown Region, an already unsettling place that caused many to turn back. But the signal finally ended within a strange mass of moons and asteroids around Mobus. The signal was strange and complex, as if asking to be found. But why show itself now? Or was it always there, hidden until it was finally discovered?

Who will take up this venture into the source of the signal, and what will they find?

"This is one hell of a signal." The droid stated, gazing down upon the panel they had in the passenger seat of the Barloz ship's cockpit. "I...i cannot decipher this. I can tell you this much. It is old. Very very old." Talohn, who had begun to follow the signal because he loves the possibility of good salvage, grins widely. "We could strike rich on this then. Provided the unknown regions treat us well." And so, the ship makes it's way through the asteroids, following the signal.

Madlad, the droid, keeps trying to decipher it, to no avail. "Likely some form of old ship. Clone wars maybe?" Madlad tries guessing. This causes some excitement in the cathar. "Oh, I hope so. If I could refurbish some clone wars weapons and ships, find some collectors, we could set ourselves up with credits for days. Hell, I could buy myself some beskar." He laughs.

As the signal's strength grows larger and larger, a strange base atop a massive asteroid comes into view. It looks very remote and powerless. Almost like it had been abandoned for decades, or even centuries. Once the ship reaches a certain distance from the base after it comes into view, a strange voice sounds inside the cockpit, talking through the Communicator. "iden-en-tify before landing-ing, or hositle action will be ta-take-taken." A glitching AI's voice sounds out, it's voice bugging out before silencing itself. A strange landing pad located near to a door, slightly visible from a far, begins to light up. No additional activity seems to be triggering the closer the Barloz ship gets.

The base itself looks like there is hardly any power in it. Like someone switched off the reactor and left barely any power to continue. The walls look slightly dented and damaged, but no holes exist along its almost black metal. The same AI voice come on again saying, "Identiy-y confirmed. Wel-elcome Master *&£$@~" The last word it full of static, denying any knowledge as to the name of this "Master" it referred to. All seems silent once again from the base.

The ship goes in for a landing near the base, and Talohn peers out the windshield of his ship at the structure, taking out a helmet to put it on. Madlad stares at the structure, using it's internal networks to do a structural scan. Once done, the droid speaks up. "Black metal, the shape and brooding aura. Definitely sith made. Best not to take this lightly." Talohn pulls on an airtank, linking the air supply to his helmet. After that, he picks up the lightsaber he got from a dead jedi. He always keeps it close these days. He puts it in his coat for safekeeping then puts on his belt, heavy blaster already in it's holster. Finally, he picks up his DP-23 clone war era laser shotgun, slinging it over his shoulder.

"Noted." Talohn responds to Madlad. The droid presses a button, bidding the ramp to open, before picking up it's own blaster. Both of them prepped to go, they exit the ship to begin warily making their way towards the base. Talohn always keeps his hand on his hip, ready to pull that blaster, and Madlad remains wary, ready to pivot his body at any angle and obliterate anything that gets close to them.

As the two explorers disembark their ship, the door across from them opens allowing them access into the large building. All the lights are dead within the building, lack of power causing them to have aged dramatically. Before the doorway into the facility is a long hallway with a single door on the far side. A key pad rests beside it, but it appears broken beyond fixing. Multiple blaster shots riddle it. The door is half open, with very limiting space to get through.

Through that lies a large room like chamber with silent tech, similar to that of a large console unit that many bases would have to monitor the base's statistics, power levels and many more. The same AI voice sounds out as it detects movement outside and inside the building. "It has been some tim-m-e since we last sp-p-oke-e Master." Low level energy has caused this AI like voice to deteriorate to a poor state. The computer at the console lights up, spitting up reports and diagnostics that the lack of power has had on the multiple systems across the station. More blaster holes stretch across the floor and walls near the doorway into the large room with what appears to be suits of armour by the console. The darkness of the room makes it impossible to correctly identify the type of armour it was.

The voice of the AI sounds out again, "Would you like to activate Project Phantom, Master?" This surprisingly isn't glitched as the AI seems to be correcting itself and going through dialogue that it seems to have done many times before, "If so, please make your way to the correct chamber and the process will begin. However, it has been some time since your last visit so it will take some time." The AI finishes, opening a door at a snail's pace at the far right of the room.

"I believe it's mistaken you for someone." Madlad states as they step into the old base Talohn chuckles, equally confused as his droid companion. "Yea... certainly odd. Do some scans on the area, see if you can find anything of worth. This place is a relic in of itself. If we don't find anything, we can log the location and sell it to anyone who might find it interesting." Talohn's always looking to make some side credits. Both Talohn and the droid cautiously squeeze through the door into the chamber.

While madlad proceeds with the scans, Talohn makes his way over to the suits of armor, activating the flashlight on his shotgun after unslinging it from his shoulder in order to get a better look. After getting a decent look at the armor, Talohn hurries over to that console. "Explain project phantom." He calls out. In failure of that, he begins trying to search through the system's files on the console to see if there's any info that hasn't been degraded beyond reading.

The Madlad conducting his scans, the sudden light from Talohn's shotgun flashlight shows a sliced up suit of gen 2 Clone Trooper armour. The singular long cut along its torso was almost clean through, with faint remaining presences of a skeleton residing inside it. When Talohn calls out to the AI, it doesn't respond. Either because it can't talk that way, or that it is refusing to.

Examining the system's files bring up some reports of what appeared to be a special project conducted by a single person, the name and half of the documents have seemed to be corrupted. However, the reports that are readable to make reference to the progress that "Project Phantom" is making and that it won't be long till it is ready for use. A single video log is present with a strange droid talking.

"The date is *"&%$$~~). The Master has authorized the creation of a unique Stasis Pod to be created for &$^%( ("&£#. This will be able to contain a individual for extended periods of time, longer than a typical Stasis Pod or even Carbonite Freezing." Multiple construction sounds are being emitted through the video. "If this Stasis Pod proves to be a success, the Master will be able to continue with his plan. What that is, I have no information on but it will be great,"

The video ends in heavy glitching and digital corruptions and the image turns black. A screen showing where power is located across the station appears, showing that it is active in two separate rooms: Main Room 1 and "Project Phantom". These appear to be the one that the two scavengers are in, and one room through the door to the far right and down another corridor. Multiple other rooms are listed as inactive on the screen: Training Simulation, master's Quarters, Weapon storage and Reactor. Everything else has been unreadable.

Multiple items dating to the Clone Wars and before hand ping up all over the room and beyond for the droid, Madlad. Power fluctuates briefly in the room the two scavengers are in showing that many, many more suits of Clone trooper and basic robes of what appears to be the workers of the facility lie everywhere around the room. Many of the Clone Trooper suits of armour, all Generation 2 style, have differing slashes and cuts along them. Some even have faint marks of a blaster shot as the killing blow to these soldiers.

Project phantom is...an individual....that's concerning." Talohn frowns deeply. It's overridden his excitement about the clone war era stuff, for now. "Something really bad happened here, for sure." Finding no more logs in the system. "Should we turn the power on?" Madlad questions. Talohn nods in response, prepping his shotgun. "You've got point. This tech is old, but perhaps we can get the power on, even if for a little bit. Let's hope the security systems stay just as broken when everything turns on."

"If they do not, I will rip and tear until it is done." Madlad states, detracting it's claws in the hand that isn't holding a blaster. The two cautiously make their way down the hall, peeking around every corner with their blasters in front of them, "This project phantom...." Talohn mutters. "Likely some fucked up force user related experiment. There was a lot of that in the clone wars era, on top of the screwed up amount of cloning in the first place." He doubted the control panel would actually function enough to activate the power remotely, so he wished to head directly to the source.

The long corridor that the two were in now was pitch black, save for some light that flickered on for extremely brief milliseconds before plunging the room back into darkness. The walls were once again, lined with blaster holes and strange marks akin to what a lightsaber would leave on its almost black steel. As the two move forward, three doors come into view. One has the words, "Reactor" written beside it. To its right a sign states that the right door is "Master Quarters". Opposite that, the left most door of the three has a very damaged and worn sign that says, "Pro"*£& *"&!tom". The door to the reactor is open with the other two doors being tightly shut.

The reactor room is easily the size of a large hall with a reactor that would put a fair amount of bases planet side to shame. A console is lit up with a simple question. "Activate Reactor? Yes, No?" The question appears to have been there for many years, because the remains of a robed skeleton lies on the floor beside the console reaching for it. Everything appears dead throughout the station, with many bodies belonging to the Clone Troopers as well as the ones who worked there. A strange droid, powered down with wires hanging off of its back is crumpled in the corner as if forgotten. It appears to be a form of medical droid judging from how it is constructed, but the shoulder mounted blaster on its shoulder could tell a different tale.

Talohn is able to guess what the worn sign says, judging by what he saw in the main room. Once he's in the power room, Talohn staqnds before the reactor. He scans it over, making sure the old machine is stable enough to actually start running. Upon finding that it is, Talohn does indeed activate the reactor. After pressing the button, Talohn and Madlad nod to eachother before hurrying out of the room, and down the hall, just in case the reactor decides go go insane or something. (Sorry for short post this time, there will be a lot more to do next post!)

With the reactor turned on, a loud whirring starts to aminate from it as it activates for the first time in many years. A loud voice sounds throughout the base as it start to power the base. "Station Power, Online. Life Support Systems, Online. Lights, Online. Exterior Turret Defense System, Online. Lockdown protocol, Offline. Engaging full power to internal Droids and Consoles." One by one the lights lining the halls and rooms activate covering the base's interior with light. The loud whirring continues for a minute before going silent, the reactor reaching a stable level. With the power activated, the doors to the "Master's Quarters" and the room opposite it become unlocked. The panels next to them light up as if waiting for input. The room with the worn sign opens quickly, the mechanical door creaking slightly as it opens for the first time is what can only be assumed as centuries.

A droid, designed for medial use, walks out of the room having just powered on. It walks into the corridor and with one look at the two new entities in the base, addresses them. "Please Identify," before a light scans over the two. The droid appears to be waiting for a response to its request as it's mechanical parts try to move with a large amount of rust over them.

The room behind it appears to be just as large with what can only be described as being an oversized Stasis Pod. It seems to be surrounded by smaller and less impressive designs, with the large one appearing to be the final product. The metal is shaped in a way that makes it look like a standard Stasis pod, but the front of it is much more reinforced along with no window to see inside the pod itself. A Console is active beside it that a droid appear to be tending to. It seems to be showing data of some kind that the droid constantly observes as more and more data goes across the screen with seconds for each sentence to pop up before being moved out of the way of even more data. It looks like it was collecting data ever since the station was powered down. The large pod must of been active all that time for that amount of data to have been collected. A large piece of writing is on the side of the Stasis Pod, simply stating, "Project Phantom".

"Whoo..." Talohn looks around, casting his hands up in the air. "Y'know....thise place would be pretty nice if it were all cleaned up. Might just keep it for myself or something." He chuckles. Madlad decides to point out a fact after Talohn states that. "We still don't know how corrupted by sith maguc this place is. Could easily be cursed." "We would have run int something by now if it were cursed." Talohn counters. Before the two van begin to argue, the medical droid walks up to them. They both look quite alarmed as they try to think up a way to lie to the droid. Talohn suddenly salutes. "We're not in the system yet, we're new transfers here to help with project phantom." Madlad speaks up. "I am a protocol droid, here to help with mechanical issues."

Should the droid find that to suffice, Talohn and Madlad wait for it to walk away before they make their way into the master's room. Talohn has pondered activating the project, but he first wants to see if he can find anything else on it, also there could be some real nice loot in a sith lords quarters, maybe even another lightsaber if he's lucky.

With the Lie told by Talohn and Madlad, the droid pauses before saying, "If you are to aid in Project Phantom, please speak to the Master in his Quarters for a brief of the project so far. After this, you will be granted access to the designated chamber." As it talks it raises and arm towards the door causing it to open. The droid then turns around and heads inside the Project Phantom room, the door closing behind it.

The "Master's Quarters" looks still in a descent state, with a large wall full of surveillance camera views and statistic on the base's activities that are currently going on. The cameras in the Main room 1 by the entrance, the reactor, Weapons Storage yet not one in The room the droid entered into after instructing them where to go. A large desk is placed at the opposite end of the room to the door, with a large cabinet beside it. Inside is housed what appear to be multiple trophies and items. All of them appear either heavily rusted, worn or decayed over the years. A basic console screen is lit up on the desk with a large chair before it. The chair itself was already vastly different from a usual one, with a high back and a keypad on the right arm. The computer screen simply shows a half written report about Project Phantom.

"Project Phantom log, 98.

The project is going extremely well. I have work for years on this and will be damned if I let it fail now. The Stasis Pod is holding up great and works effectively in all the right ways. So far, the only complication is that after too long inside the pod temporary effects take over the individual inside. She said that after 3 weeks inside the pod caused intense nausea, however it quickly fades and the task instructed to be completed was done. I will be continuing to test the limits of this pod and how long I can keep...........

The Report ends, seemingly never finished. A single draw is on the desk, holding a concealable blaster inside of it. The state of it is, at best, heavily in disrepair. A strange drink in what appears to be a crystal glass is sealed and stored inside the cabinet. Nothing else is within the room, as it seems age has taken care of most other items in it.

After the droid leads them into the room, Talohn looks about for anything worth taking. He decides to pick up the crystal glass, and hides it away in the satchel at his side. Madad, while it's companion searched the room, stood before the desk, beginning to read the log aloud. Once the droid finished speaking, Talohn spoke up. "Sounds like whoever project phantom is, they've been through the wringer, if they're even still alive in there."

Madlad sighs. "Gonna be one hell of a trip, getting let out...." Talohn nods in agreement. "Yea....but we should probably do her the favor of letting her out if she's alive. She's just a test subject for some stasis pod. That's not a fair way to spend the rest of eternity."

The droid chuckles wryly. "You're a bleeding heart, Talohn." Talohn waves a hand at the droid dismissively. "Oh fuck off. Let's head to the weapons room next, see what there is. Before we let out this project phantom." Hoping the droid wouldn't register their words, Madlad speaks to the medical droid. "We have it handled from here. Please go back to normal procedures." With that, Talohn and Madlad make their way to the weapons room to see what there was.

Darth Velox Darth Velox

With their next destination in mind, and dismissing the droid who moves back in to the Project Phantom room, the long hallway is theirs again. A quick schematic of the base's layout in the hallway which is displayed with a large screen, puts the weapon storage on the opposite end of the base. By going through the Main Room and the door at the far left of it, they'd reach their destination. On the way, multiple droids are starting to roam the area. Some are similar to the medical droid encountered moments ago, all the way to deactivated battle droids. These appear to have a strange design, with shoulder mounted guns and large mechanical arms.

The Weapon Storage room is tough to open, on account of the door hardly being able to open. But inside are multiple types of blasters, grenades, ammunition packs and one very large droid. A Demolition Droid. It seems powered down, since it was not needed at the moment. A long wire ran from the wall to it's back, presuming keeping it attached to the main system in case an attack is alerted. Aside from all of that, nothing else is within the storage room.

Talohn takes a few of those blasters, for certain. He even slings a DC-15a over his back. Such clone wars era blasters are rare beyond belief, and a bit of repair work would make this one work nicely again without too much work. He also picks up a few dc-15s small blaster rifles, stowing them away in his bag. "This'll sell for a decent profit." Talohn states, to which madlad nods in agreement. They decide to leave the droid be for now, best not to piss off the security systems after all. With all that they want in tow, Madlad and Talohn once again squeeze through the door.

"So..project phantom?" Talohn asks. Madlad shrugs. "Guess so." They hurry past all the roaming droids, looking as inconspicuous as they can so they aren't stopped for questioning. After sneaking about, they finally make it to the stasis pod. where Talohn makes his way over to the control panel. "I better not regret this....." He mutters. "You will." His droid companion assures, With a deep sigh, Talohn presses the yes button, activating project phantom.

With their way back unimpeded by a droid's question, walking into Project Phantom and with a mutter hitting the "Yes" button, the stasis pod activates. Multiple of the medical droids suddenly maneuver over to a work bench full of medical supplies and equipment as the pod slowly opens. First, six long horizontal pieces of metal unfold from the front, seemingly acting as a lock for the whole piece of technology. A long ramp starts to extend down to the floor in front of the Console unit Talohn was standing at. The last section of the pod's door, split into 3 pieces: Two opening to the left and right with the last moving upwards to point diagonally upwards to the pod.

Inside the pod, as the inside released what appears to be a mixture of icy air and steam like someone had just been carbon frozen, stood a Lethan Twi'Lek. Her skin was a dark crimson with black markings that a Dathomirian male would have across their face. Her outfit was slim fitting, but fully covering her body. Her arms had metal bracers on them with black gloves covering her hands. She was around 5,8ft with her "Tails" coiling around her neck. With a soft intake of breath, she began to raise a hand to hold onto a handle bar on the inside of the pod. Her intake of breath was followed by a bit of rough coughing as she started to leave the pod, eyes still closed. Her clothes here mostly black with some dark silver and grey across her belt, bracers and boots. A black Lightsaber hung off her right side as she walked halfway down the ramp before stumbling slightly. She instantly corrected herself before talking. "Master? Are you there?" the Crimson Twi'Lek spoke, her hand on her head as her steps ended at the bottom of the ramp.

Talohn and madlad stand there, prepped for a fight as the stasis pod opens. Madlad, being the one that can be repaired when ijured, stands closer to the pod, blaster in hand just in case. They watch the medical droids get to work. "Wonder if she'll wake up." Talohn says aloud. "Probably not." Madlad responds, using it's thermal vision to peer through the mist. "Wait.....Holy shit, I'm getting a heat signature. Someone is actually waking up in there."

Talohn slowly approaches the pod. "Well. the experiment worked I guess. It's just a bit overdue I'd say." Madlad chuckles darkly. "A bit, yes. Only a bit."
That's when she spoke, exiting the mist. Madlad, beinf fearless, kept standing before her. Talohn however, takes a step back. "Oh wow, uh..uh, yea, That's a sith, that is definitely a sith....a disoriented...confused...sith." He chuckles nervously, hand going to the blaster on his hip.

"I'm going to be completely honest with you...sith lady. I am not your master....Your stasis ended up longer than....intended. I think. Your master? Dunno who he was, but he's long gone from the looks of it. It's been a long time, very long. 800 years since the clone wars at least. Take it easy. You like... need some water or something? This definitely is a lot to take in right after exiting stasis." Talohn is concerned for the girl. Sith or not, waking up in a completely different universe isn't easy. He still doesn't approach her though, as he doesn't want to get cut down by a lightsaber.

Taking a couple more steps as she heard a voice that she didn't recognize speak, she tried opening her eyes. Two practically glowing pair of Sith Eyes glared at Talohn and Madlad. When the organic of the two told her that she had been in Stasis for 800 years, her mind almost froze. 800 year since she had actually stepped outside of that pod and conducted her master's work. When the organic offered something, she took a bit to speak before saying. "Did it work? Did my Master's plan work? Did we win?" The Twi'Lek asked, as she lowered her hand from her head. It momentarily touched the black lightsaber on her waist, checking it was still there before going limp.

Her body went from staggered and weak to strong and tall in a matter of seconds upon gathering herself together. "It doesn't matter either way. 800 years have passed. The galaxy has had long enough to recover. It's time I returned to it," She spoke, her voice stronger now as she looked fully at how Talohn and Madlad were posed as if ready for a fight. "It'd be unwise to try anything... What even are you? A Scavenger? Hunter? or...." She pauses before looking daggers at Talohn. "I can sense something. It feels like.... As if you are connected with the force," Her voice says, as her mind starts to run through multiple possibilities. Remembering what she was taught, she asks the Talohn, "Are you one of us? Or one of them?" Her voice sounded partly cautious but also questioningly. As if she was trying to get information from a prisoner. Her fingers of her right hand twitched as if waiting for an answer.

Talohn simply watches the Twi'lek stagger about. Madlad, definitely the more imposing seeming of the two, stands nearby, prepped to aim the blaster should she try anything as well. Talohn's hand overs above his own blaster as she feels her lightsaber, but he stops doing so once the hand goes limp again.
"I have no idea what your master's plan was. From what I picked up in the logs, it seems you were mainly used as a test subject for the stasis pod, nothing else." He states with a slight wince. "Uh, short answer to that is a deadly plague started spreading, destroyed most of the galaxy, took society a while to recover. There's sort of a historical gap there, because people spent too long coughing their lungs out to really record history." He states, putting his arms up in a shrug. "So, I am going to safely assume that they all died, and no one won. But the sith and then jedi are still around, fighting as usual."

When she asks him who he is, he offers his hand to shake. "Name's Talohn Atar. I'm a mercenary, scavenger, bounty hunter. I do whatever puts food on the table really." He thrusts a thumb in the direction of the droid. "That's Madlad, my protocol combat hybrid droid."

"I enjoy the the audible cracks when breaking the spines of my foes." Madlad decides to state as it's introduction. Talohn sighs. "yes...Madlad, very charming Moving on..." He senses her hostility instantly. "Me? I only found out I was force sensitive a few weeks ago. Manifested when I ended up fighting a sith. I don't make a habit of doing that, I don't even mind sith. But when you go around slaughtering children for fun....at that point you're just bringing shame to the name of the sith empire. Sith are expected to at least have some control over themselves. It's what differs a master from a mongrel." He seems to know about the sith. She may notice he's cathar, a location that is sith territory. She's talking to a citizen of the empire.
