Special Features: Fires a strip of duct tape that can potentially adhere to the target's mouth. Tape is laced with a numbing agent to make speech more difficult.
Strengths:
- Can silence a noisy protégé from across the room.
- Can fire three strips of tape in rapid succession, just in case one isn't enough.
- Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.

He didn't know what to expect, but it's safe to say that even if he had an idea, he would have failed to anticipate Lok's inability to go for more than a few seconds at a time without asking a question or making a snarky remark. Though he's not tried to confirm, he suspects she asks questions even in her sleep.
Fearing for her safety and his sanity, he used his extensive experience in designing weapons to create a device that would rectify the problem, at least temporarily.
The Lok Silencer is, at heart, a simple air cannon. A cartridge containing three strips of a special tape laced with a numbing agent is loaded into the weapon. A strip of tape is folded in half around a narrow wedge, sticky side out, and a counterweight is attached to each end. When fired, a jet of compressed air launches the strip of tape out. The counterweights swing outwards, ensuring that the tape presents as broad a profile as possible to the target to guarantee maximum coverage. On impact, the weights ensure maximum wrappage, and once a small accelerometer located within detaches them. They drop harmlessly to the floor, and can be reused if they can be collected.
A solid hit will form a tight seal over the target's mouth, effectively preventing them from talking. The numbing agent makes everything it contacts numb and clumsy, making it even more difficult to talk, or to use one's mouth to remove the tape. It wears off after about five minutes with no ill effect.
NOTE: The Lok Silencer was developed in collaboration with Lok's writer. We thought it would be hilarious if Rusty were to develop a weapon to get her to shut up.
