Built originally during his time as a Jedi, this weapon served Cairan throughout his service to his Jedi Master. It served him during his slaughter of the same master just after his Knighting Ceremony. It then continued to serve it's creator and served Cairan when he left the Jedi Order and fell further and further into the darkness and into the madness that would grow to consume him.
Eventually, the crystals inside would be corrupted with the powers of the darkside and begin to emit a red glow instead of their usual green. Eventually, the entirety of the green blade would become a red plasma blade, a sign of Cairan's complete fall from grace and fall to the darkness. It was at this time the weapon would be painted by it's creator from it's metalic silver to the black that it would become.
It would recieve damage at the hands of a group of Jedi Padawan's who were executed by Cairan when they recognised him. One of the padawans managed to successfully secure a slight hit on the weapon with their own lightsaber leaving a gash through the hilt. Whilst it could have been repaired, Cairan never bothered as the damage to the weapon symbolised the damage within him.
