The Light Of The Lanterns .. [Boo]

The words and the scene that played before her was something wonderful to behold, for once there was joyous news in their lives, again and the smile on her face began to ache, she could not contain it. Thurion was so happy, as she was but it was this little boy that had influenced their lives before, now stood doing so again but her heart melted when she turned to him after Thurion had embrace their son so very proud of him. But Boo stood crying and is was this that propelled her forward and she took Boo in her arms, as she kneed on the floor in front of him, and in a loving embrace she cradled his head gently against her shoulder as she soothed him while he cried.

The poor boy as a mixture of confusion and disbelief at what just unfolded in his life. He and Theo had been thick for a while, it was a relationship built over some years and it was familiar to him and although Boo knew of Thurion and herself, the whole ideal of family was not familiar at all. "We were indebted to you before when you save our boy, now we are indebted to you again .. because now you own our hearts".

Coci gently pulled back from their embrace enough to cup Boo's face in her own and she placed a soft kiss on his forehead. She turned to Theo now pulled to the floor wrapped in his father's arms and she smiled before a breathy laugh broke from her. She reached to her son, leaning in to place the same loving kiss on his cheek equally as proud of him as his Papa.

"I see your friend is missing out on this wonderful occasion .. will you teach me how to hold her properly?", Coci indicated to Azi, now indignantly eyeing them all in protest. "And you must tell me her name".

For in this time, all the pain in his heart and his body fell away as his father took him in his arms. The clock turned back some twenty or more years as Theo felt like a small boy again, he always did when his father did this and he rested his head on his father's broad strong shoulders. "Thank you Papa", he whispered unable to say much more with all the emotion in him that had ebbed away.

He looked into his father's face all awash with tears of joy, his own face not much better. "You .. you shaved your beard", what a thing to notice or say in this time. And although he suspected that his mother loved this, to have been able to look upon her husbands face, Theo thought it horrible. A cheeky grin pressed upon his lips, "You look bloody awful, grow it back". It was an attempt to avoid the topic of shared parenting, and although he wanted to tell his parents about Ylva it was not the time, not yet.

"Thank you both, I will be sure to call upon you when I need help", he turned to look at Boo hoping he was alright with this, hoping that finally this young man would find something he had never had, a family that will love him and take care of him. It was going to take some adjusting for Boo, he understood that, but over time he hoped that this moment, and moments like these to come, will be turn into second nature for him. And it would prepare Boo for the day he would meet his aunties.

"Where is Thirdas?", he suddenly asked. "Where is my brother?". He wanted to see that scallywag.

[Thurion Heavenshield]

Thurion couldn't help but raise a hand to his face at the mention of his beard, or in this case the lack thereof. "Yeah, sorry about that," he chuckled, noting his son's well-groomed facial hair. He glanced over at Coci and beamed a smile her way. "Figured it was only fair your mother got to see the face of the man she married, for once." He then gave Théo a subtle wink. "It'll grow back out, don't you worry." Truth be told he did miss it, silly as it sounds. If only because he misses being able to stroke it in order to look wiser than he really is.

Wiping the remainder of his tears with the sleeve of his shirt, Thurion stood back up along with his firstborn. "Thirdas is... around. Somewhere," he shrugged. "That boy tends to do as he likes, whatever comes to mind first. I seem to recall seeing him disappear on that favourite horse of his, galloped straight through the gates and out of town." He gave Théo a light punch on the shoulder. "Sounds like someone else I know, before he became a man with responsibilities..."

"That being said, he should return soon enough. He knows what time we usually have dinner... Dinner!" Suddenly his eyes went wide and he froze in place, before rushing off to the kitchen to see to his culinary masterpiece still on the stove. "The sauce! The sauce!" With all the tearful news and reunions he'd quite forgotten about it. There was a deep sigh of relief when he noticed it hadn't been ruined by his neglect. "False alarm," he informed them from inside the kitchen, this time remembering to turn off the stove and set the saucepan aside. Wiping his hands on his pants, he returned to the living room.

"I am... learning how to cook properly. Slow process, you can imagine." Looking now to young Boo, Thurion stepped towards him and settled a hand in his blue hair as he kneeled down before him to look him in the eye. "Boo? Are you okay with all this? I don't want things to move too fast for you, I imagine this is all quite new to you. If you need time adjusting, it will be given to you."

Sniffling, the boy looked up as Coci came over.

The biot immediately perked up at the subtle mention. Particularly since this was the Pancake Lady. Pancake Ladies got all the amphistaff love. As the serpentine form slid across Boo's frame, the snake-like alien looped from one arm to the next. "Her name's Azi," Boo noted, as he found himself juggling snek as the amphistaff shifted her weight around.

"You... you don't really, like... you don't really hold her," the boy noted, as the biot glided over closer toward the woman. Boo was trying to reel the amphistaff back, but the biot just slid forward again each time he did. "She just kind of decides where she wants to go."

While he was talking, he heard Théo start asking about someone.

But who even were they talking about? Looking around the room at the three adults, the boy curiously asked, "Who's Thirdas?"

There couldn't seriously be another Heavenshield could there? And Thurion seemed to suggest Thirdas was a lot like Théo. So, there was another Théo?

Could the galaxy possibly handle a second? Or a first, for that matter?

If he was going to answer Thurion's question, these were probably questions he should have answers to.

[Coci Heavenshield]

The whole process of 'holding' Azi looked ungainly, but she was going to give this a try. Coci did not really fear snakes, she had just got a big surprise in kitchen when they first met. She watch Boo tangle with the biot, trying to reeling her in to no avail as the serpent was determine to coil around her. So Coci raised her arm allowing Azi to slide upon his skin, it felt cold but strangely nice to the touch, so soft.

"Thurion you must try this", she said after Thurion had come back from the kitchen and rescued dinner, she raised her other hand to allow grip and control on the situation. There was a smile on her face, but she knew this snake was dangerous, deadly so if there was a threat to Boo in particular. There was never a threat to him in his house, not in this family.

"Thirdas is our last born son, he is around your age and a handful at times. Hopefully he will be home soon". Thirdas is to be Boo's uncle as it turns out, but this could be a great chance for the two boys to become friends. Coci gave Azi back to Boo and stood up, "It is time for dinner, so lets go and eat", she knew the appetite of her sons, her husband and now this young wonderful boy. "This will be your first meal with us as family, Boo. And it shall not be your last, you can come here anytime you wish..".
