Valery chuckled, the sound soft and warm as her fingers curled lightly against his cheek. "Well, in that case, you better start planning the cake," she said, tilting her head. "I know for a fact they'll still love it if their dad bakes it."
There was a flicker of something mischievous in her smile, and she leaned in just a little closer. "But if I'm being honest, I don't think I'll ever really get used to them growing up either." Her eyes sparkled with amusement now. "So… what do you say we just make more babies?" She laughed, full and unfiltered, then gave him a quick kiss on the lips, wearing the kind of grin that meant trouble.
But whatever she was about to say next never made it out. Her brow furrowed, and she blinked as she looked past him, eyes widening slightly. "Aurra?" she called, voice shifting sharply as she stepped around Kahlil and made for the edge of the balcony. Sure enough, their daughter was dangling off the railing with the kind of confidence only a Noble child could pull off.
"Aurra Noble, how did you get up there?"
"It's okay, Mommy!" Aurra beamed, little legs kicking gently in the air. "They have me!" Valery looked down and found Adam and Aeryn below, hands raised, brows furrowed in concentration as they steadied Aurra with the Force.
Aurra flashed a big smile. "We heard something about cake!"
