Valery chuckled, the sound soft and warm as her fingers curled lightly against his cheek. "Well, in that case, you better start planning the cake," she said, tilting her head. "I know for a fact they'll still love it if their dad bakes it."

There was a flicker of something mischievous in her smile, and she leaned in just a little closer. "But if I'm being honest, I don't think I'll ever really get used to them growing up either." Her eyes sparkled with amusement now. "So… what do you say we just make more babies?" She laughed, full and unfiltered, then gave him a quick kiss on the lips, wearing the kind of grin that meant trouble.

But whatever she was about to say next never made it out. Her brow furrowed, and she blinked as she looked past him, eyes widening slightly. "Aurra?" she called, voice shifting sharply as she stepped around Kahlil and made for the edge of the balcony. Sure enough, their daughter was dangling off the railing with the kind of confidence only a Noble child could pull off.

"Aurra Noble, how did you get up there?"

"It's okay, Mommy!" Aurra beamed, little legs kicking gently in the air. "They have me!" Valery looked down and found Adam and Aeryn below, hands raised, brows furrowed in concentration as they steadied Aurra with the Force.

Aurra flashed a big smile. "We heard something about cake!"

Kahlil was going to agree, without any hesitation at that, on making the cake for their children. Even had a witty flirt lined up for her suggestion on them to just make more babies. All that sort of fell to the wayside as he blinked and looked behind him to whatever had Valery wide eyed with worry to find Aurra floating there.

Listening.

He'd laugh if not for the brief panic of danger that flashed through his mind. He was quick to move, taking up Aurra in his arms right away so the pair below didn't have to focus as hard as they were. It was dangerous for all three of them for different reasons, and yet once that danger had passed he couldn't help the smile that had formed.

Noble Teamwork, at it's finest.

"With how good you three seem to be at spying, perhaps you can help mom and dad. We're going to throw a party for Aris and Vera's birthday. Why don't you three try and figure out what they might want? Without the floating each other, mm?"

Aurra let out a delighted squeal as her father scooped her up into his arms, her little arms instantly wrapping around his neck in a tight hug. She giggled into his shoulder, clearly proud of herself, even if she was technically in trouble.

"I'm okay, daddy!" she said with the innocence of a Noble.

Below, Adam and Aeryn let their arms fall, the concentration leaving their faces as the strain of holding her up with the Force passed. The moment Aurra was safe, they took off, their small footsteps echoing as they ran back into the house, up the stairs, and straight through the room until they burst out onto the balcony.

"We wanna help too!" Adam said first, Aeryn right behind him with an eager nod.

"Yeah! Gifts!"

Valery glanced between them, arms folding loosely as she watched the three gather around their father with wide eyes and excited grins. Her heart swelled with love and affection. "Dad's on cake duty," she said with a smirk, eyes flicking to Kahlil before returning to the trio. "So that means it's up to you three to figure out what Vera and Aris might want."

"Yay!" they all shouted in unison, hands shooting into the air like they had just been assigned the most important mission in the Galaxy. Valery laughed and shook her head as she leaned against the railing beside Kahlil.

"I don't know if we'll survive the birthday planning committee."

"I'm sure we'll weather this storm, like every other."

Force knows that when the triplets had an idea like this they could very well be a storm. But it wasn't going to be Valery or Kahlil that would have to face it head on. Aris and Vera were in for it now, and he was perfectly fine with it. He lowered Aurra down as he'd then pat the top of Adam and Aeryn's heads.

"Really, though, no more lifting like that. If you loose focus, people can get hurt. It's important to not hurt people."

"But daddd," Adam groaned with a dramatic pour.

"We had her!" Aeryn added, crossing her arms and puffing up a little. "We're strong, just like you and Mommy!"

Valery snorted softly and raised a brow at Kahlil. "That's definitely your genes speaking." Her eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched the two troublemakers try their best to look tough. They were Nobles at heart, so they were very much gremlins, nearly impossible to control.

Valery stepped forward and leaned in slightly, a hand brushing through Aeryn's hair before ruffling Adam's. "Alright, birthday command squad," she said, a smirk tugging at her lips, "Go find Vera before she starts missing you three, alright?"

"Okay!" they chirped together. Like a well-oiled machine of chaos, they turned and bolted, their voices echoing back into the house.

Valery waited until the last little footstep disappeared, then turned to Kahlil, her smirk softening into something more fond. She stepped closer and leaned her hip lightly into his side.

"Now that we've sent the whirlwind off on a mission..." Her hand found his. "I was thinking maybe I could steal a little time with my husband." She looked up at him, her voice teasing but warm. "Before cake duty calls."

Chaos incarnate, those triplets were. The fact that Aurra was now part of this spoke volumes on just how much chaos they'd end up causing. He watched them for a moment longer, where they'd run around the corner, before he glanced down to Valery and just smirked quite the wide grin. He knew all too well what she was getting at, and without a response right away he lifted her up in his arms.

"I've a duty to only one cake right now, my dear."

Unable to help himself he chuckled, flashing her a wink.

Valery yelped in surprise when he lifted her up, laughter escaping her lips as she squirmed a little in his hold. Her arms looped around his shoulders, and her cheeks flushed the second his words landed. Then came the wink, and her blush deepened until she couldn't ever hide it anymore.

"You're impossible," she muttered, trying to keep a straight face but failing miserably. Her eyes were warm, locked on his, and there was no hiding the way they softened even more. "But I love you so damn much."

She relaxed against him fully then, letting him carry her off, the sound of triplet footsteps long gone, leaving the house in their wake. For once, it was just them. And right now, she was more than happy to let him have her all to himself.

The bedroom was waiting.

The bedroom was not waiting long.

Kahlil just smirked as he watched her blushing face before he stepped right off towards the bedroom, keeping Valery aloft in his arms as he did so. "I know." He kept that same smug grin even as he started to close the door behind him, finally looking back down towards his beautiful wife. He leaned right over, barely stealing a kiss.

"I love you too."
