SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Kuras Enclave
  • Classification: Enclave
  • Location: Kuras III
  • Affiliation: The Kuras Blackguard Chapter | Oran Shule
  • Accessibility: Kuras III is a hostile world of tectonic activity, harmful bacteria and airborne poison. It is lethal to all but the most resilient of life forms. People who wish to visit the enclave need to be either in high-grade environmental hazard suits or utilizing vehicles (ships or otherwise) to make their approach in a safe manner. Few people know about the Enclave, so the secrecy around it adds another layer of security.
  • Security: For the most part the enclave relies on the planet itself to secure it, few people come here and those that do need specialized equipment or ships to actually move around there safely. To prevent being immediately detected the facility is coated in Nightshadow and uses extensive sensory bafflers to prevent being detected by sensory equipment. A state of the art Holoshroud is installed to prevent visual detection, but this is turned-off by default because of its power requirements. A standard deflector shield exists that moderately protects against orbital bombardment. But the facility cannot have both the Holoshroud and the shield enabled at the same time, a choice has to be made here. Outside of some internal defenses; a few turrets, heavy bulk-doors and internal shielding the enclave is not really suited for anything combat-related. Any serious military force will have no issue breaching this. An underground comm line runs for several kilometers to a subspace transmitter with ion-scramblers, after which the signal bounces through a couple of system-scale subspace networks before it gets to the HoloNet. This ensures that the Kuras Enclave has access to the HoloNet without immediately being a target for everyone monitoring the Net. This grade of security does mean there is a noticeable lag between input and output, which is less than ideal for fast browsing.
  • Description: The Kuras Enclave is a futuristic facility that seems entirely out-of-place with its current occupation by the Blackguard. This is not a coincidence at all. The building is sleek, situated around natural occurring lava pools and gaseous geysers that create a lot of background interference. The parts that rise up from the bedrock is only part of the facility with much of it constructed deep into the rock and disappearing downwards. The entire facility is shielded and has extensive protocols to avoid breaches that could allow entry to the toxic atmosphere that exists outside its walls.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Hangar Bay - The only safe entry point for those visiting the enclave. It is embedded deep in the bedrock, instead of being an integral part of the upper levels of the enclave.

Vaults - The only way to enter is through a sacrifice of blood and pain, all knowledge has a cost and the vaults of Kuras revolve around this price. The vault door that leads to the interior possess a single hand-print embedded into the metal. Touching it can cause immense pain and saps you of your strength. The vaults themselves are lined with nullification resin to isolate any residual force energy and keep it contained within the vaults.

Library - The library consists of elaborate digital and analog records the Enclave has collected over the years of its existence.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
It is unknown who build the Kuras Enclave or for what purposes.

By the time the Blackguards moved in and made it their home all the records had been cleaned out, the servers empty and no traces remaining of any former occupants. The first Blackguard theorized that it was some kind of clandestine government outpost, pre-gulag era or maybe a remnant that tried to seclude themselves from the ravaging of the Gulag plague during the 400 years of darkness.

Too much time passed for anything more than theories.

The group found the facility some decades ago and have been using it as a secluded enclave and outpost ever since.

From here they research the Force to increase their understanding, observe the Galaxy and attempt to gain more knowledge for whatever purpose it might be. Secluded from the rest of the Elrood Sector by the Drift there is little in the way of interaction between the facility and the Galaxy proper, outside of the individuals send to gather knowledge.
