Hierarchy: The hierarchy of the Knights of the Sunlit Temple is very reminiscent of the traditional hierarchy of other Jedi organizations. The major difference within the temple is the lack of a council. This is largely due to the fact that the Knights are a tightly knit group, and refuse to have a ruling body of masters presiding over the order. Their grandmaster is democratically chosen from among their ranks via an open vote, and as such, is considered to be a proper representation of the organization within the great sprawl of the Knightly Orders. The other notable difference in hierarchy is the lack of young padawans. This is because the Knights feel that children are a risk to their secrecy, and therefore are not allowed to join the ranks until they reach a certain age.

Membership: Due to the secretive nature of the organization, the Knights have kept their numbers low in an effort to remain under the radar. There are only roughly two hundred members within the order, including non-Force user support staff.

Climate: The Knights are a very tightly-knit group, seeing each other as family more than colleagues. They emphasize the brotherly aspects of the order, hoping to create incredibly strong bonds between members in an effort to build a better trust. They are also highly regimented, as they view organization and rigorous training as incredibly important processes for maintaining their organization.

Reputation: Within Ashlan Space, the Knights are highly regarded as incredibly devout followers of Ashla. Outside of Ashlan Space, however, many don't know that the order even exists. This is especially true within NIO Space, as the Knights hope to keep their operations away from the prying eyes of the NIO and their iron sense of order.

Curios: Since the Knights of the Sunlit Temple wish to keep their operations under wraps, they don't keep many trinkets or curios. The only thing that many carry is the iconic Ashlan rosary, which symbolizes their faith more than it does their membership to the order. This is because, if the rosary were found, it could be written off as a mere trinket of faith , rather than a sign that they belong to a specific organization.

Rules: The rules of the Knights are largely in line with those seen within Ashlan Space, revolving around tenats of Ashlan faith and law. Despite this, they place their own spin on Ashlan lore, choosing to view it through the context of their own Thyrsian beliefs. As such, their is a heavier emphasis on combat and training for battle. They are a martial organization through and through, and as such, they maintain a heavy focus on keeping one's mind and body in good order. Training is incredibly hard on students, but they result in the creation of some of the strongest knights within the Crusade.

Goals: As a knightly order of Ashla, the Knights are focused on bringing an end to the Bogan's influence in the galaxy. This is their primary focus, and they will do whatever needs to be done to see that goal accomplished. Beyond this, they seek to provide a place for Ashlan believers among the Thyrsians a safe place to practice in secret without the New Imperial Order watching their every move. The Knights also wish to eventually bring their organization into the open, and often pray for a day where they no longer need to hide in the shadows.

The Knights of the Sunlit Temple are, in many ways, a spiritual successor to the Sun Guard, though they have chosen a path of Light, rather than the darkness chosen by their ancestors all those years ago. The Knights were originally founded by a now-forgotten Jedi, a man that had sought to establish a Thyrsian Jedi temple in hopes of finding redemption for his people. The order had taken on several forms through the years, being dismantled and rebuilt through calamity after calamity. Wars, internal strife, and the Gulag Plague all did damage to the Knights in some form or another, causing them to become more insular as time went on. This was only exacerbated by the New Imperial regime that eventually took control of the planet. Over time, the order slowly grew into something different from its original iteration.

The Thyrsians within the order began to ponder thoughts of spirituality, and as they discovered Ashlan faith, they found striking similiarities between it and their sun god worship. Taking this into account, along with the lunar goddess of their Echani cousins, the Knights eventually concluded that the sun god and lunar goddess were one in the same, and in fact, were a representation of Ashla herself. This pushed them further into Ashlan worship, changing them from a regular Jedi order and into a proper order of Ashlan knights. Today they are completely converted, and are among some of Ashla's most devoted warriors.
