Public The Kessel Run [SJO] [OPA]

Born standin' up and takin' back.
He thought about her words, ‘the same old business’, he supposed that to her it would appear that way, but the reality was different. Eldin did not really want to get into the differences of his past and what brought him to the present. He had been on the wrong side of the law most of his life, and to get a second chance at something that would not end up with him behind bars and to live a life he chose not dealt to him by the hand of fate, was something he was not going to throw away. Besides, most likely he would not see this girl again, so it didn’t really matter. He just scoffed before downing his drink to her toast.

“To badges and smugglers”, he grinned including her in the moment.

Eldin suddenly found himself almost falling to the floor of the cockpit as the Bucket come out of hyperspace. His mind groggy with sleep and aching from the booze. Somewhere through their trip he had fallen into a whiskey induced sleep and had not buckled in, not that this was the first time. His mouth felt like the bottom of an ashtray, dry and thirsted for water, but first he steadied the ship.

Bespin was on the horizon, Cloud City a welcoming sight as the lights of the place twinkled in the night sky, and the ships converging on the landing pads. It was nice to be home, and he looked forward to his hole in the wall apartment and his own bed. It was not much of a place, but it was his.

Where Vyri had gotten herself, was anyone’s guess but to sure he checked the control panel for the upper level, it was still secured, he chuckled to himself. Bespin control pipped through the comms, clearance for landing given by a familiar voice which directed him to land at pad 13a and informed him, OPA medical was happy to see him with the goods.

“Good to be home control”.

He always liked to fly manual when landing, even with a rough head.
