Objective B: Privateering for Justice Shipping's allies

~

"Kiber, where do you think they might have come from?" asked one of the crew, as he checked over his blaster rifle in preparation for the coming assault by the droids.

"Obviously from someone who doesn't want us to reclaim the goods and return them to their rightful owner. But we will show them that Justice Shipping is not to be messed with, Period," the crew agreed with Kiber's statement; they would fight, even to the death if it came down to that particular course of action.

Suddenly, two droids on Single Trooper Aerial Platform's appeared overhead; they must be doing a reconnaissance for the others, telling them how many opponents they would be up against and such. They swooped in low and were possibly registering the forms below them on their scanners to send back to the other droids.

"Now!!" Kiber shouted; the crew sighted their blaster rifles on the STAPs and opened fire. The droids managed to avoid the first few vollies, but the third round of blaster fire brought them down.

They came crashing down to earth and lay smoking several feet away. Kiber approached slowly, cautiously, with his rifle raised and pointing at the droids. With two quick shots, he vapourised the droid's heads, destroying their scanners. But it was too late, the droids had sent their information back to the main body. One of the guards came onto the comlink and he said that he had taken cover inside an abandoned house - the droids had destroyed his outpost and were moving toward the crew and the ship. They appeared on the horizon and began to march down the dirt road, with several of them firing off blaster rounds to range their rifles. Several of the rounds impacted the Justice Shipping Limited freighter but they did no permanent damage to it.

Kiber lifted his blaster rifle to eye height and looked through the scope; there must have been at least eighty or so droids coming this way. He put the electronic sights on the closest droid, took a breath and pulled the trigger. The droid's head vaporised into pieces. The crew joined him and they began blasting away from long range, which meant they would have fewer to face if they came all the way to the landing zone. One by one, the droids fell and were trampled by their comrades, as they moved onwards and spread out in a line, with some of the droids breaking away and sprinting ahead of the group. They were brought down by more blaster rifle fire, but the droids just kept coming and showed no sign of stopping or abandoning their assault upon Kiber, the crew and the ship. It was going to be a long fight, that was for sure.

The chest of a man who till only a moment before had been breathing exploded into a room now equally devoid of gravity. The rest of the squad followed suit, bursting forth with a fury and violence that filled the air with the primal expression of unrepentant bloodletting. It was it's own special kind of beauty. One that you had to keep silent in after action reports when speaking to folk with shiny rank on their collars. A sucking chest wound was a hell of a thing to watch spiral about when it belonged to a competitor and not an ally.

Djark switched his attention off the dead man and further down the hall as the violent ballet continued. Another. Another. Another. All twisting with the force of the burst that caught each being. The small frigate had an unremarkable interior, typical of such craft, and without need of description. (And because the writer doesn't feel like it)

"Clear." He muttered through his com through a thin sheen of sweat as he took the controls out of the hands of a now dead pilot. Similar affirmatives echoed from the others as his world became automatic. Tunnel Vision. Frantic heart rate.

Life.

"One down James." He sent over a long range coms through a perhaps shaky voice.

Objective D: Droid Attack!

As night fell on Sernpidal, the droids attacked; Dion received the alert from the perimeter guard on the opposite side of town from his own post. Apparently, they were swarming in down one of the dirt roads into town, intent on plundering the heavy freighter. The cyborg heard blaster-fire in the distance, followed soon by the disparate shouting of men. This was it.

Dion assumed the stance of a sprinter at the block-- he’d been a swift lad growing up, champion of his hometown’s harvest dash, but his cybernetic enhancements pushed his abilities far beyond normal human speed-- and then he surged forward, sending up a cloud of dust in his wake.

He crossed town before the droids had reached its perimeter, but they were closing-in. The crew of Justice Shipping was eliminating them as fast as possible, but it wouldn't be fast enough to stop all of them from creeping into close range-- it took a good, clean shot to completely stop a droid, and that wasn't easy at night. Dion switched on his night-vision, his irises shifting to green, and soon sighted a heavily armored Mandalorian [[member="Kiber Thaxton"]] leading the firing-squad. Just beyond the perimeter, he could see a wave of sprinters-- droids who would suicidally charge into melee range-- bearing down upon the freighter's defenders. Dion had brought his rifle, but at this point he knew there would be close-combat, and so he drew a pair of his two-foot vibroblades. Upon activation, the blades thrummed with sonic energy. Dion's on-board targeting HUD gave him real-time feedback on enemy attack patterns, allowing him to see the gaps in the droid's defenses-- they were actually quite obvious and consistent if you knew what to look for, far more orderly than most sentient lifeforms, which made them predictable.

Dion intercepted the first few sprinters by meeting them at 100 yards beyond the town's perimeter, evading their telegraphed attacks, and systematically dismembering them with inhumanly quick strokes of his swords that sliced metal like butter.

More were coming, and fast-- he stood ready.

"I'm glad you could join us Dion," Kiber said between shots, taking down two droids with one disruptor round. They were continuously coming in ranks - it seemed that there would be no end in sight for the defenders.

He saw several of the battle droids running for the ship, so breaking out his battle axe, Kiber began to swing, taking down several of them with swift chops to the mid-section. They fell onto the dirt, their eyes slowly fading, as their electrical circuts were sliced. As wave after wave approached and was defeated, Kiber wondered who had sent them - it was obviously someone who did not want Justice Shipping to get their hands back on the stolen items, which were almost all loaded into the freighter's hold at this point. He had to feel sorry for them, because they had decided to take on Justice Shipping and would come out the other side much worse for wear than before the droid assault.

"Don't give any ground to those godforsaken droids. I know we can beat them," he shouted over the roar of battle, resuming firing with his disruptor rifle and swinging his mighty battle axe at another small group of sprinter droids who tried to make a break for the ship.

You can do this Kiber - you have been in tougher spots than this before.

"Copy that, Djark, excellent work," James replied from his wrist comm as he found his way back into the village. It had been a half an hour since his transmission. He hoped the intended message came across; he would fight his way with his small army if he had to through the worlds of trouble to help protect the innocent.

That was when he heard it. A firefight from the otherside of the village. He let out a stream of smoke as he muttered, "Fething hell...."

As his damaged side ached, the spacer grabbed his slugthrower rifle from a crate and began charing there. His body ached, his mind was exhausted, but he would do what he had to in order to protect the weak. That was who he was. That was the kind of man he was. A second later his eyes espied the droids entering the melee. He surveyed the sight and it was clear to tell the tactics: Numbers was the game and overwhelming force. He flicked ash from his cigarette stub and felt furry burn from in his soul. Fine. He would play that game.

With a roar he charged in. The butt of his slug thrower whipped into the head of one of the droids, knocking it a step back. He shoved his rifle barrel head into the spot between where the head and torso met. A quick squeeze of the trigger blasted them apart. Shoving past the metal scrap he saw another. He ducked low under a barrage of blaster fire, the barrel sweeping the droid's feet out from under it while the spacer moved. As it hit the dirt James pinned it down with one foot and shot a hole into its metallic skull.

"Captain, look out!" Shouted a guard.

The spacer dove down, his head turning in search for the next set of enemies. A massive volley of blaster fire tore into the patch of land where he had stood as half a dozen droids marched toward him, weapons ready.

Stardust had been at the village a mere hour before getting news of the ddroids

Feth this all"she said and started running seeing the droids marching many calling from blaster fire"awww by the fething force"she said and got on comms to [member="Echo Emerald"] "echo be prepared to make a emergency evacuation for wounded and civies and wait till I say to...if we need to" she said and started running jumping over the cover and activating her sabers blocking a few shots back toward the droids as she ran in and started slashing them to shreds"hahahah to easy "she yelled as a bolt caught her armored left arm thankfully on going through the armor as she pulled her sword out and started using the force to slice and dice using all three" hey James how ya doing"she said stabbing through a droid and using it as a shield

[member="James Justice"]

"Ma'am were detecting the infected fleet in hyperspace heading right for use." Echo froze as every personnel looked at her. She slowly looked across the bridge at everyone then clicking her wrist activating he comms to [member="stardust"] and [member="James Justice"] we can't have evacuation ready for yo but we are coming to you. Our scanners have detected the infected ships heading towards us we are unsure if.... if rose is aboard any of the ships but we cannot hold our defenses against that meany ships we are re entering orbit and using the mountains as cover to our advantage." You could hear echo yelling in the back ground. "Get this cruiser down into those mountains and rescan the surface for any planetary defense systems!" Once they got back into the planets atmosphere all that she dreaded happened they were here. Their intentions were unknown but leveling three city's and jumping and escaping. It probably wasn't their intentions to be friendly and she was preparing to kill everyone aboard the ships. AS the infected fleet exited orbit you could see it restarting it defenses but what was odd was no fighters were exiting the ships. She opened her comm again the jame's and stardust am i the only one seeing this?"

Infected Ships?

Friendly ships

James twisted on his back and saw as [member="stardust"] shielded him from the majority of the blaster fire. Other random rounds blasted into the dirt and left massive scorch marks in the ground. James whipped out his DeathHammer and laid down a heavy fire that ripped the remiander bearing down on him to shreds.

"Just peachy, sweetheart," he bit out in his sardonic voice as he rose to his feet in pain.

He narrowed his eyes. There was only one person he could think of that would devote this much to destroying something of his. There was only one that would devote this much to hurting James, and everyone else, all the rest--were collateral damage. Anger boiled over his body. He knew what that meant and what he had to do, but this spacer was sick of being a captive and being tortured. No, this time he would stand, he would not bend, he would let his forces carve their way and show that they were as strong as their leader.

"Stand firm," he ordered over his comm, "fight, do not flee, press your advantage and hold on."

He could hear Echo over the comms and saw the old prodigal ships enter the atmosphere. He bit his lip and subdued a curse. Could this day not get any worse? His HUD contacts calculated their landing trajectory quickly and easily. He shook his head and typed out a series of orders on his wrist computers. A few miles away the Lost Angel was powering up to his orders, waiting to become a massive, remote controlled killing machine.

James willed his legs to move as he jogged to the landing spot, "Feth you, Rose. Feth you."

"What the Feth?!" Kiber shouted as he saw ships approaching their position. He was almost taken down by a battle droid, but he fired point blank in its face and it exploded. The Mandalorian could see that the droids were definitely fewer in number now and would be done with in several minutes if they kept up the current rate of fire from their position. Ordering fully automatic, the bullets began to fly and the droids fell one by one, finally wiping out the last few. It had been one of the longest firefights of Kiber's career, but it was finally over. He had done it.

"We've eliminated the droid threat sir," Kiber said over his comlink, and looked across at the devastation he had wrought in the village; Justice Shipping would escape with the retaken goods intact and deliver them back to their original owner. He saw James Justice making his way to a landing zone and kept his eyes on the ships. They were gradually getting lower and lower and would touch the ground in a few minutes time.

Dion watched the last few droids fall from a distance, having eliminated the close-range threats with surgical strikes of his twin blades. He was no worse for wear after the attack, though his personal energy shield had consumed a lot of on-board energy and was running low on power-- he needed to recharge. As he thought this, he looked up to the sky to see ships descending.

Not good.

He decided to regroup with James at the Lost Angel, which he quickly reached by running at a cheetah's pace. He found a power station and plugged himself in to recharge his internal systems, awaiting orders.

Stardust blocked a few more hitting what was left in her sight with prescion before turning and getting James to his feet"uea your good if you can still be sarcastic "

Star looked to the sky and she paled....infected ships"great...frakking great"she said as she used her head to check it course"

She then followed [member="James Justice"] and looked around seeing the lost angel power up"OK James what's the plan?!"sge sid as she got into the mind set and anger bubbled up...and with that..cane that voice

*well hello...you beaat nee down....but..your mind is ubstaaableee...so I return..but...not noow..not yet*

Star grabbed her head as shook before falling to one knee then stood up slowly"

Rage boiled in James' blood. He wanted nothing more than to slaughter, slaughter, and send another message. One to Rose blade, one to the worlds, one to everyone. He took his seat in the control of the Angel, his hand hovered over the triggers.

Mercy.

He blinked twice. What was that? It was no thought he would have, it caught him on the blindside. Mercy. The civilians, the collateral damage would destroy the village. Mercy.

He shook his head. It went against every bone in his body--but it was right. He knew he had to stop this savage murdering. Yes, there was a time to help the weak, and a time to avenge them. But now, no now he needed to show mercy, to give the wrong-doers a second chance. Everyone deserved one, without it he would have still been in squallor, rotting away. He had to give a second chance. He had to. It was the right thing to do. It was--

"It what she would have wanted," he whispered before he activated the comm and pinged the incoming ships.

"This be James Justice, Captain Justice, head of Justice Shipping and leader of the ground Forces, if ye want to make it into tomorrow, you will declare your non voilent intent and surrender. If Rose Blade be there," he paused, "I will personally shred her."

Kiber looked back at the freighter and thanked the Mandalorian gods for keeping it safe during the firefight; there was no damage to her at all, and she was just waiting - waiting to get airborne again. "Alright folks, let's get our stuff together and head for home!!" the crew climbed back into the freighter, with the Mando hot on their heels. The ramp was brought up into the closed position and everyone went to the bridge. As he sat down in the captain's seat, he saw that the incoming ships had stopped and were not landing as he previously thought. With everyone on-board, it was time to get the hell out of here. He had come through without a scratch and would live to fight another day.

They fired up the main engines and thrusters. It hovered off the ground for a few minutes, before turning in the general direction of home. "See you back home boss man," Kiber said over the freighter's comlink as the hyperdrive was engaged. He was glad to be getting out of here, and he couldn't wait to get back to the Angel's Den and celebrate with a stiff drink. Kiber looked down at the others below him, and hoped that it would be a safe trip home for them as well. He wanted to be down there, but knew that he would have been personally told by James to get the hell out of here and he didn't want to make the spacer angry. "Alright, punch it!" and the freighter vanished from sight into hyperspace.

As the ship was maneuvering though mountains she looked out to the fleet noticing the ships weren't move nore was any of the weapons coming online. Then hearing james over the comm's she opened hers to james "I don't think there's anybody on board those ships. We aren't detecting any life forms nor any of the systems are switching.,,"She was then interupted by a recording that ran over every channel.

Roses laughter in the background by the sound of her getting closer. "Sorry but i know you would have made a threat to me right about now but sadly for you i'm not on the ships i sent them back to echo also under certain circumstances they all will be knocked out of dead but hey! That's not my problem." You could hear expositions in the background as if she was still on the ship she was blown off of. "Oh and james i will be back for my stuff so if you really want to find me i suggest to keep them locked up and under heavy guarding But i did leave you a present just for you on one of the ships hope you like them."

The recording had stopped and the hanger doors opened to all the ships. "Send every ship we got to the ships and over ride every piece of technology on them." She then turned towards were the rest were located. 'You can leave. Your not needed to take over the ships. You can return home. But you won't be allowed on the ships till we can take it all over.' She then turned towards the doors and started to walk to the hangers.

Unaware of a second transmission going to [member="stardust"] sneaking past everything they got. "You can feel it too master. We both can don't try to fight it. It only makes it worst when it takes over. I hope you make the right choice master you and echo were the best thing to ever happen to me and i wanted to say i............." The transmission ended due to a clone had woken up and opened the channels to see whats happening.

[member="James Justice"]

James oversaw the quick reassembly of the clones into his fold. It took all night for the tech to be scrubbed, maintained, and cleared from any of the foul android's tampering. The more he heard her voice, the more he hated it with all his heart. It was getting time to teach her a lesson. One she would never forget and one that would make such an example of the foolish woman, no one would ever dare try to steal his stuff again.

That was how James operated; those who angered him and hurt his own, he ground to powder. Those whom he loved, he would protect fiercely. They were not two sides of a coin, they were two sides of the same equation. That was what had motivated this mission in the first place.

As the sun rose the weary man climbed aboard his Lost Angel. The blaster shot on his side ached with agony. But the women were safe, the supplies had been secured, and the village was safe. The people had food and James' clones had come home. He pat Reed on its metallic dome head and collapsed on his bunk, too tired to drink or even smoke

"Get us home, mate," the spacer murmured as he drifted to sleep.

The faithful astromech droid trundled into the cockpit and did as he was told. Soon the ship was back in hyperspace on its way to LC-2.

Stardust had stood and got in with [member="James Justice"]"hmmm the ships got nothing on them.....why send them"she said and then listened for the other transmission as she recorded it before frowning them walked out of the bridge you her quarters listening the entire way....when she reach her quarters she stopped as she got in and closed the door as she felt anger rise up and threw a mouse droid against the wall as it squeaked then fried itself before sparking as she sat on her bed and looked down before pulling the thing over and began working on it while thinking... How long could she last with the voice...had she failed...she failed herself for not noticing her pawadan turning....yet the last part...it hurt her....she sent the record to James... And then started meditating
