Bounty Hunter Extraordinaire
Objective B: Privateering for Justice Shipping's allies
~
"Kiber, where do you think they might have come from?" asked one of the crew, as he checked over his blaster rifle in preparation for the coming assault by the droids.
"Obviously from someone who doesn't want us to reclaim the goods and return them to their rightful owner. But we will show them that Justice Shipping is not to be messed with, Period," the crew agreed with Kiber's statement; they would fight, even to the death if it came down to that particular course of action.
Suddenly, two droids on Single Trooper Aerial Platform's appeared overhead; they must be doing a reconnaissance for the others, telling them how many opponents they would be up against and such. They swooped in low and were possibly registering the forms below them on their scanners to send back to the other droids.
"Now!!" Kiber shouted; the crew sighted their blaster rifles on the STAPs and opened fire. The droids managed to avoid the first few vollies, but the third round of blaster fire brought them down.
They came crashing down to earth and lay smoking several feet away. Kiber approached slowly, cautiously, with his rifle raised and pointing at the droids. With two quick shots, he vapourised the droid's heads, destroying their scanners. But it was too late, the droids had sent their information back to the main body. One of the guards came onto the comlink and he said that he had taken cover inside an abandoned house - the droids had destroyed his outpost and were moving toward the crew and the ship. They appeared on the horizon and began to march down the dirt road, with several of them firing off blaster rounds to range their rifles. Several of the rounds impacted the Justice Shipping Limited freighter but they did no permanent damage to it.
Kiber lifted his blaster rifle to eye height and looked through the scope; there must have been at least eighty or so droids coming this way. He put the electronic sights on the closest droid, took a breath and pulled the trigger. The droid's head vaporised into pieces. The crew joined him and they began blasting away from long range, which meant they would have fewer to face if they came all the way to the landing zone. One by one, the droids fell and were trampled by their comrades, as they moved onwards and spread out in a line, with some of the droids breaking away and sprinting ahead of the group. They were brought down by more blaster rifle fire, but the droids just kept coming and showed no sign of stopping or abandoning their assault upon Kiber, the crew and the ship. It was going to be a long fight, that was for sure.
