The Instant Message of Desolation [Adekos]

The battles of Balmorra and Contruum were long lost memories to Darth Vornskr now, his mind already attuned for the future and what lay hidden within it's writhing confines. However; he had been informed of a particular POW that had been moved through his sector, and was currently being held at an undisclosed location deep within the Unknown Regions. His reliable informants told him it was [member="Spencer Jacobs"], former Sith apprentice to Darth Decimus and if he recalled correctly the wife of [member="Ashin Varanin"] depending on whether or not it was common knowledge to those who had known both of them for an extended period of time.

If it had been anyone else Kaine would've just waved off the report and possibly punish the peon that had delivered the news for wasting his time, but now this provided an interesting turn of events that would greatly interest those who considered themselves the old guard of the Sith Empire. So, he brought up his communicator and quickly tapped a secure and encrypted message out with swift keystrokes aimed towards one of those old guards who he kept in regular contact with.

Heh.
Did you hear?

TELTI
UNKNOWN LOCATION

The foreman ducked, narrowly avoiding the datapad as it flew threw the air. Instead of his face, it smacked into the wall. The foreman was skeptical that this was going to be the last object thrown at him, so he scurried for cover, ducking behind a cylindrical power generator. It was presently deactivated, and with the fuss Darth Adekos was making over it, it was unlikely it ever would be activated. "You simpering idiot. Who told you to put that there? This entire room is going to need to be torn apart and rebuilt! This is coming out of your paycheck."

Truly it would have been impossible to ask for a more simple floor plan, yet now it was all mucked up. If Adekos had known this would be the result of hiring locally, he would have imported someone competent from Coruscant. This would have cost the foreman a whole lot more if he had been working for someone else. Projectile datapads were fine. If it got out that Adekos murdered people who didn't do their jobs properly, no one would work for him. There was only so much that could be compelled through fear before it stopped being counter productive.

"Get your crew back in here," Adekos continued, gesticulating angrily at the power coupling the foreman was hiding behind, "And fix this mess at once! So help you, I-"

An irritable buzzing, coming from the communicator in his pocket, cut the Umbaran's rage short. Someone was texting him. He scowled one last time at the foreman, or the pylon obscuring him, and stalked out of the room. No one had texted him in nearly twenty years. Truly this must have been important.

Heh.
Did you hear?
Well, this ought to have been good. Especially if it was coming from Vornskr. Adekos' response generated and sent itself without Adekos actually having to type anything.

No.
Execute another political dissident today?

No.

Execute another political dissident today?

That was yesterday, actually.
If Kaine recalled correctly his bloated body still hung outside of some square or another.
Naw man, naw.
Word is that Spencer Jacobs was captured during the Republic's strike on Balmorra.
Now she's the Sith's princess.
Wait a minute. Kaine squinted at what had scrolled out across his communicator's view screen, disbelief plastered across his macabre features as he tried to comprehend what he apparently just wrote.
He groaned. Accursed autocorrect! He quickly typed to correct his monumental error.

Prisoner*
Sorry, typo.

Spencer Jacobs? Wasn't that the Queen of Eshan or some other lunatic planet? She'd also been the lover of the Sith Empress back when heads of government were tangible entities. She did... Battle meditation. Probably. The closest Darth Adekos had ever come to interacting with her had been at Roche, the magnificent catastrophe that it was. Frankly, Adekos had forgotten she existed- along with Varanin. The two of them had been the center pieces for the Fringe Confederation after giving just about everyone else the finger. He assumed when that government expired, they went with it. If only it were that simple.

The Umbaran grinned when Vornskr referred to her as a princess, only to find it wasn't a dazzling display of sarcasm, but a typo. Disappointing, to say the least. Again, Adekos' response came promptly and without any physical interaction with the device.

Where is she being kept?
I imagine Varanin will break her out within a month, no?

Secret.
No point in spilling all of the beans to Adekos just yet, besides it was all the more fun to keep him wanting.
And I suspect that our old friend will pop in for a visit very soon.
Very soon indeed.
He'd make it a point to be there when Ashin brought the hammer down.
Although he wondered how involved he'd get in that little lover's rescue.
He did have an itch to fight Ashin again, perhaps put her in the dirt for good.
Maybe.
Just maybe.
I'll be sure to tell you when it all goes down.
