Heinrich hadn't been to this area of space, save for one time long ago. As such, he was largely a stranger to the area. Nevertheless, upon receiving the distress call, he knew he would have to dive into the unknown in order to help those trapped within the colony. He knew little of the threat, but given his recent encounters, the Essonian felt that he was ready for anything. As he drew closer, Heinrich could sense that something was off. It wasn't like Ty to be this concerned in a fight, and the tone of his voice in the transmission left Heinrich feeling uneasy. If someone with Ty's strength was struggling, then what could he possibly be up against?

As Heinrich managed to land his shuttle in one of the open landing bays of the mining colony, he opened a channel, hoping to reach whoever may still be alive.

<<To all survivors, this is Heinrich Faust, Grand Marshal of the Ashlan Crusade. I have touched down on the colony, awaiting further instruction.>>

With those words, he opened the doors to his shuttle, taking care to keep his wits about him. He had become accustomed to expecting the unexpected, and he didn't plan to be caught unaware in this particular fight if he could help it. As he stepped out of the shuttle, his hand instinctively reached for his lightsaber, igniting the cyan blade as he began searching the area for signs of life.

He just hoped he wasn't too late.

A sharp, and loud beep from his console brought Tovald out of his nap, the sudden movement of his head startled one of his many cats, the tabby Bloby Cat clung to his scalp in fright, with her claws out. Which wasn't exactly fun for the Cat and the Ubese.

<"Owch."> Tovald whispered while wincing as he gently pried the animal off his bald head and set her down. The scratches were shallow and only caused welts.

Putting on his helmet he turned to the angry-looking flashing button. As soon as Tovald pressed it the frantic message played, it sounded like a dire emergency. He could not recognise the voice. Civilians needed help and he was on a pretty big ship that could hold them. He was able to pull Coordinates from the message and keyed them into the navigation console, it was a Mining Colony somewhere called Null.

Tovald had wondered if any lava would be involved in this adventure. But if that roar was anything to go by lava would be the least of his worries. Once the location was set he put the Venomoth into Hyperspace for a rescue mission, helping people had a better reward than hurting them.

Frank was on the far end of the shuttle bay near several installations of sandbags. bodies of unknown creatures and humans were strong across the decks playting some torn asunder others looked half-eaten while the sandbags had somebody slumped over the side of a few sandbags with long bone-like spikes protruding from them. "Oh great we asked for help and the people to show up were the papist's lapdog and a cat lover. No offense I'm sure your both strong but if your both the only help that's arriving id advise you to leave before sundown I don't need more bodies on my mind and neither does Ty." Frank let out a shaky breath as he lit a cigar his body patched up with stitches and bandages from a few of those bonelike spikes. and something that slashed him.

soldiers in heavy plated hazmat gear moved bodies to one side and began torching them with flame throwers. as frank put out his cigar on the plasteel wall he looked at the two arrivals before pointing down a hallway. "Go that way and head up the staircase to your left it will lead you to the war room where Ty is currently reviewing the losses we have suffered after the third week here.....I'm sure he'll have something for you." Frank spoke to them through telepathy since his undead body would be incapable of forming words.

Heinrich recognized the man that greeted them, though he didn't feel the need to sound friendly. Though he was tough in the way he spoke, Frank was only trying to be practical. Whatever him and Ty were fighting, it was serious. Heinrich just rolled with the comment, eyeing the corpses and spikes as he spoke.

"Well, from the look of it, you could use the help."

He could have called for back up; there were several jurors in nearby systems. Heinrich would wait, however, as he didn't want to deter them from their own missions. Besides, he needed to know more of the threat they were facing before he committing more crusaders to the fight. He turned to the other individual that arrived, offering him a slight nod of acknowledgement.

"I'm Heinrich Faust, Grand Marshal of the Ashlan Crusade."

After introducing himself to Tovald, he started for the staircase, eager to meet with Ty. Something strange was going on, and if both Ty and Frank were involved, then Heinrich could only imagine what could possibly be awaiting them...

There would be only one way to find out.

Well, it was a surprise to see Frank again, after the Bryn fiasco, they both dropped under each other's radar, except for when they met at the valley, after that they went their separate ways for a while. The last two months were rather busy with family and preparations for the annual market. But it can wait, this needs to be dealt with first.

Tovald scowled at Frank's remark but let it slide, Frank's comment was true, he did love cats and he was certainly proud of it. But that wasn't why he was here, Tovald replied to a distress signal and he wanted to help. After all, he knew Frank, even if this time the Human/Corpse looked worse for wear since then. He refrained from a retaliatory comment about Frank's appearance, Tovald was better than that. Instead, he focused on the problem at hand, the roars in the background of the message.

Those need to be identified and planned for. They sounded most unfriendly and by the looks of it had a taste for Frank already and the dead bodies in equal measure or was it Frank's snack time ... doesn't matter.

He then nodded in greeting to Heinrich, <"Tovald, gun for hire, Hunter and swordsman."> He says sharply and to the point. As they need to assess what they were up against. So now they await the briefing or any clues on what it was they were facing. Hopefully not giant Spiders.

standing in the war room was a echo of a man, Ty sibo. His skeletal body clad with a biomechanical muscular suit paramilitary bdu's and a anti material rifle effortlessly held in one hand. whisps of blueish smoke came from his eye sockets as he used his telepathy to talk to the various hades corp indiviuals in the room. a risen Minock perched on his shoulder as his archaic power pack gave off a hum of life for his protosaber attached to his belt.

"what's the sitrep to decks four through 8?" he askes to one of the hades corp soldiers on a consol. The man turned to him and said. "we lost contact with deck 8 but four through seven are holding them back. also burnout crews are finishing up burning the infected in sector 5."

Ty nodded his head turning slightly to Heinrich. "ah good to see a old friend, sorry for my abrupt leave from the crusaders." looking to the other person in the room he chuckled. "You must be Tovald Frank speaks highly of your skills, He doesn't often do that so your already held in high regard. I assume you want a explanation?" after a brief moment he layed the situation out for them. "Abeloth has awoken and her first attack from her forces was here at this mining colony they found a gateway artifact to the pool of knowledge. one of 3 total artifcats to her fortress and pool of knowlage you need all three to access it. I've done what i can to hold a defensive here but were starting to be pushed back and with nightfall aproching im not sure how long we can keep holding out agaisnt her Von and world enders. I need help evacuating the civilians as they take priority and if you can get any reinforcemnts here secondary objectives is moving on deck 8 to secure the articact.

Ty would press a few buttons on a holodisplay to show them the enemies they were dealing with as well as information surrounding them.

mini Vixus (world enders): miniature VIxus's created to spread the Vongspawn virus to make more of Aboleths army and terroform the world and colony into a place were she may walk among us in real space.

looking to Tovald Ty spoke again. "Frank mentioned how your good at killing giant spiders so ill be tasking you Heinrich and frank to go with the burner crews to clear their nests near the spaceport that would make extracting civilians a problem...any questions?"

Tovald was chuffed that he was talked about, it's nice to be remembered. He felt even more pleased knowing how rare of an honour it was. He nodded in satisfaction and with a confirmation that they are ready to hear the lay of the situation at hand.

<"Oh, joy."> He grumbled quietly and snippily once the Wyyyschokk's image appeared.

His idea of a spider-free mission deflated rapidly as the Holo-Images appeared. Spiders, spiders and more spiders. Tovald kept calm on the outside but inside he was not all too pleased, he was far from it. Small ones he can look without goose-pimpling, but anything bigger than his head or himself, he has problems with. He just about recovered from the last Spider Related Incident, but then the Ubese began to realise that this was too convenient to be just a coincidence. He quickly glanced behind him, and towards where Frank was currently. A deepening scowl spread across his face, well he will be wanting a word after the brief, that's for sure.

Turning back towards the Holo-Images, pointedly ignoring the Wyyyschokk for the moment, as the priority would be the civilians, which he can use the Venomoth for, it had a lot of space. Ty was right, it will be 6 hours before civil twilight, so they had to get ready and into the mission quickly.

Heinrich offered a smile when he saw his old companion, though he looked a little worse for wear compared to their last meeting. It had been several months since they had spoken, and though Heinrich wished to catch up, there wouldn't be time. For now, there were much bigger things to deal with. He shot a look at Ty at the mention of Abeloth. The entity was the source of much of Ty's pain, and Heinrich had promised he would do what he could in ending that pain. Perhaps it was Ashla's will that he answered the distress call.

"Ty, good to see you, though I wish it were under better circumstances."

He looked over the projections, doing his best to assess the situation. In short, it didn't look great. The longer they remained, the greater the chances of being overrun. Heinrich did what he could to get the lay of the colony before speaking again.

"If we can get the survivors consolidated, they may be easier to move. Are there any possible choke points between them and the landing bay? If so, we can attempt to concentrate our defenses there while we conduct the evac. I'll attempt to send for back-up, though I'm not sure they'll be here in time."

Heinrich shot a look to Tovald.

"My ship doesn't have much space, but I can take a few. Maybe your ship will be better suited for that."

Turning his attention to Ty, Heinrich let out a sigh of frustration. This was going to be a long day.

"How many men do you have left?"

Every single one would be needed before the day was done.

"Ty, good to see you, though I wish it were under better circumstances."
Ty nodded "As do I." He would jester to the door for tavold. "By the looks of it you need to talk to Frank so you may while I talk with Heinrich."
Keying the coms he would order all units to consolidate at the entrences to the space port. before turning back to Heinrich. "the colonists are consolidated to the ground floor of this building Nix and the scarecrows are looking after them here. as for how many units i have left not many weve been trying to hold out for about a week out ships were slagged upon landing and after being here for a week weve suffered 90% casualitys But if it comes to it Im willing to die holding the line to get the civilians out of here." once Tovald left the room Ty would sigh before looking back to heinrich.

"Since aboleth has awoken I've lost my immortality since I'm going up against her blatantly. so if i am to die ill stay dead and shell get my soul. Its a sacrifice im willing to make if it comes down to it but I hope I dont have to before shes put to rest permanently. Im headed to the defensive line You should meet up with frank to clear up the nests. Have you gotten time to practice using your power I gifted you? if not this would be the best time to do so."

with Frank
Frank would be getting on his armor with the burner crews. The burner crews were 6 what seemed to be ex Eternal empire units from before Ingrids time sporting fireproof hardsuits and flame throwers, incidiary granades and Krack rifles as backup weapons. Frank even replaced his shoulder mounted E web with a flame weapon. Looking to Tolvad he smirked knowing he was probably gonna get yelled at. "Just like old times eh? for the record if i would have known Ty would task you and me with this i would have kept my mouth shut. but hey thems the breaks....did you like the blobby kat gift?"

<"Yes, I need to pick the bone with him."> He replied, tone clipped and snippy.

The scowl stayed as he left the room, this is not going to be a fun job, but he won't say no to it flat out either. He'll need to make an emergency rest area in the Venomoth's cargo hold. He'll need portable bedding and food rations. But all he could do was think about spiders, big ugly bigger than him spiders. Then he blew out a breath and just sighed, his irritation surfacing freely. He should have known this was coming, the fact that he had issues with spiders, well big ones at least. Bryn certainly ignited a spate of Arachnophobia in the Ubese.

Those things were big, they were big and they wanted to eat him, that leaves an impression that doesn't fade. Sho he was certainly going to scold Frank for getting him into Spider Duty. Having re-entered the hanger, Tovald made a beeline towards his comrade. Ready for a scold.

"Frank, you dobbed me in it, spiders, after the Bryn fiasco? But since we are fixed on the assignment, I won't complain,"> Tovald scolded, keeping his volume the same, there was no point in raising it, the assignment's been made. He paused mid scold to smile a little. <"Yes, thank you for the gift.>

"I see. Well, hopefully it won't come to that."

Heinrich was aware that Ty had lived a long life, and though he understood that such a long and tortured life would likely make anyone ready for the sacrifice, he hoped it would be on his friend's own terms. If they could at least see the quest to kill Abeloth through, Heinrich would see that as a small victory. But first, they would have to get through this day.

"I'll attempt to get a signal out shortly. Even if I can't get reinforcements here on time, I can maybe at least get more transports. I want to make sure we have room for everyone, including however many of our troops are left."

He thought on the power that Ty spoke. It was a strange power, and though Heinrich had been getting the hang of it, he was still attempting to refine it. Luckily, so long as he wasn't near the others, he wouldn't have to worry about friendly fire.

"I have, a bit. Still a bit unpredictable, but I've learned enough to make it useful."

His focus shifted in the direction of Frank and Tovald, leaving the room and joining them as he relayed a transmission to whoever may be able to receive it. As he approached the pair, his hand instinctively reached for his lightsaber.

"I hear there's nests to be destroyed. Point me in a direction, and I'll get it done."

5m5qOKV.png

The three burner units directed frank Heinrich and Torvald in the direction of the nests moving through the access tunnel. with a decent ways to walk They started mild small talk. "So did you see the new guy Ty recruited for this crusade?" one of them nodded before jestering to Frank. "I did yes but didn't he try to kill frank when they first met as well as Ty?" Nodding his head the burner troop responded with. "He did though what do you expect supernatrual creatures don't exactly get along I mean Frank here and Ty hate each other."

As the group started walking down the maintenance shaft sines of struggles as well as webs could be seen. the group would soon come across a few bodies of scarecrow troops. bending down the third burner troop moved them aside to remove each of their dog tags. noticing a child underneath their bodies. "wait one." keying his coms the burner troop called out "Burner troop squad leader on nest duty requesting a medic and escort civilian child found unconscious but alive....no not infected a trio of scare crows bioroids seemed to have shielded them from their own explosives." the other two burner crew members began dragging the dead troopers to the side as sounds of feet were hurrying from where the group came.

a hum from the leader's flame weapon sounded as he aimed it at the bodies and coated them in the incendiary flame. "Rest Ahead of us boys well see you again one day." as they kept marching as the child was eventually carried away by the medical team. The walls started being more covered in webs and corpses the sound of chittering and movement could be heard coming from further down the tunnels, coming towards them.

"I did yes but didn't he try to kill frank when they first met as well as Ty?" Nodding his head the burner troop responded with. "He did though what do you expect supernatrual creatures don't exactly get along I mean Frank here and Ty hate each other."
Frank made a growling noise at the mention of the new hire. "Yeah the new guy has tried to kill both me and Ty in the past. he was able to hold his own with Ty rather well while splitting me wide open. though what do you expect from the unoffical Son of Empress Ingrid." walking forward. he only stopped to turn back to the two men. "I'd advise you both to shut your mouths on something you dont understand lest there be a accident while were down here that you guys don't come back from." Frank Threatened the Two of them. turning his head slightly to look back at Heinrich seemingly sizing him up.

As they come across the bodies and the child. Frank spoke up. "damn CIvvies getting our troops killed. This is were me and Ty differ in opinion. we dont hate eachother for the record we have just lived long enough that we get on each others nerves way to easily. hell im not even apart of hades corp and im helping you all with this."

"Yeah why is that?"
Frank turned his armored head in the troopers direction. "In short, Im responsible for him being cursed...I cursed him by sommoning aboleth out of revenge of what she did to the planet, it was stupid im aware...But were as Ty chooses to save life whenever possible Im not as kind I get the mission done by whatever means nessesary. If hundreds of civilians have to die in order to complete The mission I'll do it." cutting their conversation short frank would aim his d16 slugthrower down the hallway as the sound began to get closer.

Tovald for his part stayed out of it, he shouldn't even be listening to the conversation. So he drowned it out to focus on what awaited them, knowing his track record, slap bang in a nest full of eggs, the mother and hatchlings. He was pessimistic, he thought about what could go wrong in everything, this also allows him to think of a workaround, and the job is done, and he doesn't stay up all night with all the lights on and a slipper in hand, waiting for a big toenail sized arachnid to appear from the corners and grates. He never flattens them, most nights, he places a glass over them and leaves them there.

Tovald never enjoys missions where Civilians are in the crossfire, yes they get in the way and they panic. But he often gets them at least away from the epicentre of a conflict. He helped move the bodies and at least covered them up with a cloth to help with the burning. The noise of a very large creature made him draw his disruptor in the direction of the noise, it has to be the spiders, after all, use vibrations to hunt for prey and/or intruders. He did watch a holovid on them once, not a good thing late at night.

He could feel smaller ones run over his feet, this is quite a mission he found himself in. But he kept the unease to himself. No weakness.

Heinrich followed the others, making his way down the vacant halls as he listened to the others. He knew the history between Ty and Frank, but opted to keep his mouth shut, as it was not his place to speak on their history. Ty had seen it fit to confide in Heinrich about his past, and to him, that was enough. He had only worked with Frank once before, though only through the mutual effort of taking Ession back. The same battle that cost Heinrich his arm. In the end, Heinrich would dismiss Frank's practical indifference, as he knew that it came from a place of effectiveness above all else.

He brushed the webs aside, ignoring their presence as best as he could. When you had seen the horrors that Heinrich had seen, such things began to appear less threatening. He wouldn't let it dull his scenes though, for he knew just how dangerous of a task laid before them. He turned to Tovald, offering a bit of comfort, or at least, as best as he could.

"Spiders are never easy, but we'll face these creatures together. Just make sure to keep an eye out."

He turned toward Frank as they pressed forward.

"It's never too late to make up for it. Looks like you may get your chance soon."

5m5qOKV.png

As the sound of the rumbling got closer a screech was made by the bugs as they charged forward. Swiftly they were met with flame throwers from the burner squad and a hail of gunfire from frank forcing them back but only breifly as the floor underneith everyone began to buckle and give way causing the flame troopers and frank to fall below leaving tavold and Heinrich to face the spiders alone.

what remained was a few large spiders and one small one. two of the large spiders would jump and heinrich leaving the last one to jump at tovald. the small one seemed to cower in the corner on the hallway not fighting.

Below ground

The sound of flame throwers and gunfire resinated below before another monstuos bellow of a unsean beast similar to that heard earlier was heard. as the sound of gunfire stopped one of the burner crews shouted "it got him it got frank! what do we do man?!?"
"Keep fireing or were next soldier!"

The soldiers opened fire on the spiders, burning them away as fast as they could. Though their efforts seemed to yield results, it only lasted for a moment. The ground gave way beneath them, and they fell below. Heinrich wished to jump down after them, but he had to destroy the rest of the spiders ahead. His head snapped to Tovald as he stepped forward.

"Watch my back, I will need to concentrate in order to deal with these beasts."

Another step forward, and Heinrich called out Ashla, his hand outstretched as he said his personal mantra. At first, nothing noticeable happened, yet he kept up the chant. The spiders began to close the gap, scurrying down the hall with alarming speed. As they grew close, Heinrich's prayer grew in volume, building into a bombastic shout as warmth began to coalesce around his hand. Closer and closer the spiders skittered, almost nearing their prey...

Suddenly, flame erupted from Heinrich's hand, propelling itself down the hallway toward the spiders. It scorched the walls and ceiling as it cascaded across the room, leaving blackened durasteel in its wake. Heinrich was still learning how to fully harness this power, and at times, it had proven unruly. In this encounter, however, there was no concern since the others fell beneath the path of the flame. He kept his chant going, continuing to push the flame further down the hall, burning all spiders within its path. This was a desperate fight for survival, and he had to move quickly if he wished to help the others.

The disruptor was doing its job, and so was the fact he was disengaged from the horde that was coming for them. He found that easier than to just freeze or run away. He would hate to be considered a coward. He shook a spider from his leg and stomped on it, flinching at the goo now covering his leg. That will be dealt with later, he has a very good detergent, gets rid of stains and keeps clothing fresh.

Then the tunnel quietened down before a torrent of shaking hit them and the floor gave out, which left him and Heinrich to deal with the eight-legged monstrosities, they were coming fast now, Tovald shot them when they dared to get close.

He nodded to Heinrich in response, sniping those that get too close, he would have just stared at the fire but he knew he had a task to do. Slowing down will get him eaten. A very big Spider loomed over him, which exposed the softer underbelly. Hefting his sword, Tovald buried it to the hilt in the monster's belly and raked it as he ran from under it. Guts spilt everywhere.

<"Go on a rescue mission they said, it will be good for you they said."> He muttered under his breath as he squished the eggs, no eggs no hatchlings. which means no infestation. He wondered how Frank was doing, he was sure that they would be fine.

Muzzle flashes and Horrifying wails echoed down the hallway as spiders were bbq'd and ripped apart by Heinrich and Tovald. while cut off from the flame units and Frank, having delt with the spiders a Individual can be seen in the darkness. Saying nothing but watching their uniform and gear looks outdated like several centuries old. The visor on his helmet is caked in a dark substence, but he shows no hostile intent his armor and uniform has definatly seen better days and the insignia patch on his shoulder doesnt seem to be from any known nation currently. as he stands watching the two of them. "your going to save us right?" Walking forward He stabbed a anchor for some rope into the deckplating before dropping a rope down for heinrich and Torvald to use. as screeches could be heard further down the hallway the person looked back to them both. "make us whole again." he said before racking the slide on his slugthrower and walking down the hallway twords the oncoming spiders.

Down below The wallks and floor were coated in a thin film of mucas and strange growths eating into the deck plating. terraforming it. pods of yet unborn spiders rest in the hundreds along these vainy growthes as charred corpses of spiders and Von lay scattered across the ground. Behind Heinrich and tovald the culprite to the floor falling out from the other units lay crushed under the weight of several hundred tons of deck plating. the three flamer units would be arguing while near a set of doors.

"Im telling you lets just get the heck outta here this is hopeless!" however their arguing was cut off as the sounds of frank pounding on one of the doors from the otherside pleading for help. the door caked with more growths keeping it from opening.

"Hey let me outa here please! anyone! Tovald im sorry!" frank pleaded as the monstrous roar from the audio message Ty sent out could be heard on the other end of the door. "no, nooo!" gunshots could be heard before a crunching and gurgling sound."
