OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Hole in the Hull Bar and Pub
  • Classification: Bar/Pub, Restaurant, Living Space, Small Arena
  • Location: Floor 1313 of Coruscant
  • Affiliation: Owned by Ssalei
  • Accessibility: The Hole in the Hull is located deep within Coruscant, specifically in an area known as 'The Tunnels' which rejects the more standard underground city scape for winding passageways, rooms, and smaller more open theaters as if it had once been some colossal structure. This area is littered with criminal gangs and few civilians tend to go there without some kind of escort or who know their way around, leading to the Hole in the Hull being somewhat secluded.
  • Description: The Hole in the Hull is not all that it seems. A Bar? Yes. Available rooms for room and board? Yes. But a fighting pit for some up and comers in the underground fighting scene? Not exactly what you see on first glance. Many in the underground fighting scene of 1313 know of The Hole in the Hull and its small arena hidden under its floors, and many still seek to one day get to fight in that arena looking for sponsors or some quick cash to get out of level 1313.
POINTS OF INTEREST

The Pub

The Pub is exactly that, a somewhat large circular room dominated by a central bar and several smaller tables sprawled across the room. This area tends to be filled with some regulars, those from the surroundings gangs who pay well enough to stay here in safety as long as they keep the credits flowing and don't start blasting each other. Usually some music can be heard, low thumping techno-beats to keep the atmosphere alive when most of the patrons stay to themselves and whisper over their private tables. The bar is almost always manned by two protocol droids named C9-XL and LAX-1 both barely functioning constantly twitching and jolting. Although they speak as protocol droids usually would, as if unaware of their current task and surroundings, any question posed to them not in their base programming is met with the gruff voice of some unknown entity speaking huttese, leading to strange breaks in the conversation.

The Arena

The Arena is located underneath the main pub area accessed by several hidden ladders unlocked by twisted certain tables like dials of a combination lock. The Arena consists of the large central viewing area, and two 'ready rooms' located on two walls of the room. From these rooms is a small tunnel leading down and under into the arena. These ready rooms hold lockers, workbenches, droid repair stations, a small bar, and even a small armory of melee weapons. The Arena itself is host to a myriad of different events but mostly consist of small scale gladiatorial bouts between two to six participants all armed with what ever melee weapons they want or are agreed upon before hand. These battles are renowned for their brutality within the right circles, and death is not an uncommon scene within the steel cage. Often as these battles rage on there will be a variety of booths set up along the walls of the arena acting as betting stations or selling merchandise, drugs, or weapons that are harder to come by anywhere else this far down on the planet with each booth paying a tithe for every fight they're set up during to the Hole in the Hull's owner. Unlike the main pub area or even the private rooms for rent the Arena is far cleaner and polished due to constant manicuring to give customers the best experience possible as it is the main attractions after all.

The Rooms

The Hole in the Hull recently has renovated some of the closer connected rooms to the main structure, equipping them with beds, televisions, and a small kitchen and renting these out to whomever is willing to pay their rent and protection fees. These rooms are connected via local hallways, what these rooms were before is unknown but since the new owner has started taking more of an interest in the business of level 1313 he hired slicers to unlock the doors and clear out any previous programming in the local computers so they could be networked and connected to the Hole in the Hull to act as a central mainframe to keep track of what's going on. Thus the Hole in the Hull, these rooms, and the surrounding passageways are all watched over by security cameras feeding into the bar where the owner can keep an eye on the goings on for a significant distance around the bar in the old rusty tunnels.

SECURITY
Low:
Besides the security cameras in all the hallways leading to the Hole in the Hull and the "apartments" the business owns there is also a single heavy duty turret connected to the ceiling of the pub and on a rail allowing it to circle the entire room and aim at practically anywhere. But other than that there are no defenses, meaning any concentrated effort could easily invade the place.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Hole in the Hull is ancient, legend is that it used to be some kind of fuel reserve tank that an entrepreneur found and added a floor to divide in two thus creating the top "pub" area to hide his fighting ring underneath. Who ever this individual was has long since been forgotten, but the Hole in the Hull remains, being passed on from owner to owner for hundreds of years and continuing to carry on as if nothing in the galaxy has ever changed. Recently upon returning from Ilum, Ssalei purchased the bar from its previous owner, looking to find a way to start earning credits and begin actually making his way in this broad galaxy.
