  • Structure Name: The Hestia
  • Classification: Apartment Block
  • Location: Theed | Naboo
  • Affiliation: Locke and Key Mechanics | John Locke
  • Accessibility: The Hestia is one of the tallest buildings in Theed and one of the most eye-catching. There is no hiding it, and no attempt has been made to, instead, the Hestia welcomes the eye and any members of the public who wish to stop in. The ground floor of the apartment is given over to the Foyer and shops, hairdressers, salons, tailors and the like all have rented space and are available to the public. Part of their rental agreement requires they provide room service treatment for the residents where possible. The second floor contains the bar/restaurant “Ambrosia” a high-end restaurant space focused on a mixture of traditional Nabooian food and popular galactic cuisines. Both Ambrosia and the offices on the second floor are open to the public. Access to the apartments, which start from the fourth-floor and up, require access to the elevators which will only open if you are signed in by reception or are a resident whose identity can be confirmed by the system.
  • Description: A tall 15 storey building the Hestia combines traditional Nabooian architecture with modern galactic trends to create a structure that blends into the cityscape while retaining its own distinctive character. Large glass windows mix with the sandstone used for much of the construction in the city, angular shapes mixed with the curves that Naboo was so well known for.

Gardens.png

To the rear of the Hestia is a well-maintained set of gardens available for all the residents and guests to enjoy. These gardens are maintained by the staff and droids of the Hestia, containing a gazebo, and both public and secluded tables and seats. Flowers and bushes provide both shelter and a picturesque setting to eat a meal, to take a walk to just spend some time.
In an area behind the main gardens are allotments where those inhabitants so inclined are able to grow flowers, vegetables and fruit or keep animals if they prefer.

Foyer.png

The main entranceway to The Hestia, the Foyer sets the tone for much of the building and it’s decor. Natural colours and wooden tones draw you in and make the foyer seem welcome and relaxed, an oasis from the inhabitant’s normally busy and hectic lives. The Foyer is the domain of the Concierge and Apartment staff who are available 24/7 to help the residents, be it taking in packages to helping clean up after a party, The Hestia offers a full service that goes above and beyond.

Shops.png

Arrayed around the outside of the building is a series of small shops given over to small boutique businesses. From hairdressers to nail salons, tailors to a coffee shop and organic grocer. The shops are all available to the public with external-facing entrances but as part of a subsided rental agreement, the shops all agree to provide in-house service to the block’s residents. If you need help getting ready for that party, or you want to look your best for a social event the services are available....for a price.

Ambrosia.png

Ambrosia is a high-end restaurant set on the second floor of The Hestia offering a mixture of traditional Nadbooian dishes and popular dishes from throughout the galaxy. The restaurant is well known for serving both traditionally cooked dishes and modern interpretations of them. An 80-seater restaurant and bar, Ambrosia is open to the public, both walk-ins and reservations. Much like the rest of the public spaces of the Hestia Ambrosia is built to be relaxed and welcoming. While the highest quality materials were used in the construction of Ambrosia, the architects eschewed the standard decor of a high-end establishment in favour of a more rustic feel. The exposed wood and warm colours created an ambience you could relax in, like the rest of the Hestia creating a little oasis against the rest of the world.

Offices.png

Set on the second floor across from Ambrosia is a small business centre complete with state of the art conference rooms and offices. Each room is protected by soundproofing technology allowing the occupants to hold their meetings without worrying about potential eavesdroppers, both within or outside the building. Refreshments can be ordered from Ambrosia, and of course, the award-winning concierge service was at the disposal of the occupants too, allowing them an office experience like no other.

Gym.png

The third floor of the Hestia is given over to recreational facilities in the form of a state of the art Gym and Spa facility. Available for free to inhabitants, gym membership can be provided to non-inhabitants for a membership fee and a recommendation from an existing member. The gym contains sparring droids, weight equipment and cardio equipment which allow the user to run through an extensive gym prggram in the comfort of their apartment block.

Spa.png

Attached to the gym complex is a spa containing a sauna for those who wish to pamper themselves and their guests or just relax and be taken care off. A long day at work can always be worked away by a massage from one of the experts before taking a trip down to Ambrosia for dinner.

Pools.png

On the opposite side of the third floor from the gym and sauna stands a pair of pools, a longer lap pool and a smaller lounging pool. Both pool rooms have walls of floor to ceiling windows which can be used to catch the light, or tinted to hide the occupants from sight. Each pool is heated and monitored with a real-time system allowing the PH, chemical and biological balances to be maintained perfectly. Inbuilt heaters will also keep the water at the perfect temperature, making it easy to slip in and out of the water without the normal “dance” to acclimatize yourself to the cold.

Apartments.png

The 4th to 13th floors of the building contains a variety of 2 and 3 bed apartments, kitted out with all the luxuries you might expect from a high-end apartment building. Underfloor heating, smart house features, laundry, walking closets, hard wood floors and large windows all contribute to that feeling of luxury. The Hestia apartments are designed to be an oasis for those who own them, somewhere to relax in comfort after a long day at work, or to call friends over to astonish and enjoy time with them.

Penthouse.png

The top two floors of the Hestia are the private penthouse of John Locke when he is in Theed on business.

The Hestia contains no significant security or defences, relying on the Naboo Security Service to deal with any incidents which occur. The building does contain secure elevators which require authorization to use, preventing someone from just walking in off the street using them to access the apartments. However, a capable enough hacker could break through the firewalls to gain access to the elevators.

Although not traditionally a centre of galactic industry and research John Locke had chosen to settle on Naboo and make it the centre of the intergalactic Conglomerate Locke and Key Mechanics. The largest company in the galaxy brought with it a wave of economic growth to the planet, as well as causing the emigration of several of Locke and Key’s key executives. While Naboo is a picturesque planet with many gorgeous estates, John wanted to provide an edifice of luxury in the City of Theed, something that a galaxy trotting executive might find familiar while at the same time blending in with the the traditional architecture of the city.
So the Hestia was born, tradition and modern convenience meeting in one building, hearth, home and so much more.

Nice sub! The only real issues I see here are regarding image credits. The link for the offices gave me a 404, so that'll have to get fixed. I was also having trouble locating the pictures for the images of the shops and the penthouses. If they are in the credits list, could you clarify which links those are? If they are missing, then go ahead and add those as well. Once those things are sorted out, we can get this approved.

Thank you! And thank you for picking up my submission.

I have now corrected the issues.

Offices: The original website is now down, the only place I can find the image is Pinterest. The link has been updated.
Penthouse: Provided
Shops: Provided, this is a little harder to see since the website doesn't let you go back but it's the 5th image of the Horsham shop I believe.
