The Hakassi Codex (A Galactic Geneva Conventions)

So I have decided to start the ball rolling on what I think will turn out to be some awesome galactic wide political fun. Wrath is currently proposing to the Republic senate a bill that, if passed, will be a Geneva convention type document that all factions will be able to sign! I have some plans to expand on what I have in the future and make a few cool organizations out of it, add a new layer of depth to the politics I've seen on the site.

If you'd like to see what I wrote here is the link to the senate thread

I think everyone should be able to see it and i'd love to hear what you think here! It is a bit long but I am probably going to work on a summary at some point lol.

The answer is yes, if it is enforced.

Full circle. The question is, again, will anyone enforce it?

Half of the site's politics fail simply because no one cares enough to back it.

They can. The Republic alone could, they're easily the largest IC faction on the board. They just won't. No one will. Too much effort.

It's a good idea...

But ask around about the last time we tried to have something like this... Just escalated people into OOC arguments a lot more. And it actually got ignored, eventually.

I daresay they can't because they're a bit busy fighting a war for survival against the One Sith, who so far have succeeded in every battle except at Carida. That's probably a far more pressing problem than enforcing liberal standards of law. :p If the Republic were to sign, the rest of the Galaxy has little reason to be fall in line because of that.

I'd think the point of the OTHERS signing it would be that those governments on the document would enforce it in their space. So if the OP and Mandos sign, and Morris Crusade/ACA/Shadow Empire don't, the spaces where they control aren't under this law.

Would other faction be able to send people to talk and discuss over this before signing takes place?

I wanted to say that, but could not put in to words without sounding batchy
