Auction The Great Gordian Reach Sector Auction

Ashin Varanin

Professional Enabler
This auction will end at 21:30 EST, Thursday, July 28th. Tag all competing bidders. When bidding, please cite the lot name ('Lot A') rather than just the item ('I bid a billion credits on the Sith Temple.')

Non-monetary bids are preferred, including but not limited to starships. Combat ships, if any are included in a bid, should be no more than 1000m.

Clan Rekali reserves the right to disqualify bids for political reasons, and to hold back lots if no satisfactory bids are made.

Danger's brows rose.

Well that was interesting...

Did she want to bother with the Yavin or some academy? Hell no.

However, she did have a keen interest on some of the other bits. Namely, the stations and the mining rights. Normally, she'd never start such a high bid, however, the two items were worth their weight in credits -- and investment.

LOT E: Jovan Station, 4,800m, partially restored, centrally located in the Gordian Reach, with docking facilities for up to eight full-size Star Destroyers.

  • Bid of 50,000,000 credits

LOT G: Corusca gem mining rights to the gas giant Yavin. Note that Mandal Hypernautics has ongoing mining operations here as well. Lot G's rights are exclusive, apart from the preexisting Mandal Hypernautics rights.
  • Bid of 25,000,000 credits

Looking around, however, there was a small interest in the monitoring stations.

A quick tap and slid of her datapad and she took note that Clan Rekali did not have the Kar'tayl-class as a ship for sale. However...

Bringing up a new message window, Danger sent out the following missive to [member="Alec Rekali"].

To Alec Rekali
Clan Rekali
From - Danger Arceneau
Subject: Kar'tayl-Class hyperspace monitor stations

Ms Rekali,

Pardon the intrusion during your Auction, but you've sparked my interest with the Kar'tayl-Class hyperspace monitoring stations. Taneith Vizsla, my associate who had originally worked with Clan Rekali in regards to the Gordian Reach and ATC stations docked there, made a passing mention.

Seeing as the monitoring stations are being sold, and as one to be curious about the state of my stations, what will come of the area now? As such, if available, I'd like to purchase in bulk Kar'tayl -Class hyperspace monitoring stations for the Gordian Reach and for all other high priority ATC stations in the 'verse.

If possible, I'd be keen on making it a contract purchase if desired.

Sincerely,

Danger Arceneau

For Chloe Blake, it wasn't hard to miss the headlines for the new auction.

In the comfort of the Aurora Hawk, the Warden of the Sky stood in front of the holonet display in the lounge. The death of Ember had hit her hard, she had felt his death in the Force, too far away on the other side of the 'verse to do anything about it. All she could do was grieve him in peace.

However, that didn't mean that the young woman didn't feel a pang of meloncholy seeing the Lost City of the Jedi, the one Ember and she had so carefully reconstructed, be placed up for auction. It was Alec's right, but it didn't hurt none the less. There were memories there. Of Ember and she. Of when they'd spent hours after hours setting up the Watchers. The time down in the deep crypts where she and Ember would bind the most toxic of artifacts in nullification resin.

Memories of a younger Alec. Of Ember. Even of Aaralyn Rekali. Crossing her arms under her breasts, the young Warden's shoulders dipped. There was no way in the 'verse she'd be able to even place a bid that would grant her the Lost City. Instead, she could only hope whoever won it would give it the courtesy and respect for the work Ember Rekali had spent more than a lifetime doing.

Ms. Arceneau-

My regards to Taneith.

Despite the image of transience that our current auction might suggest, Clan Rekali's manufacturing facilities remain fully operational. We would be more than willing to produce Kar'tayl monitor stations for you in the required amount.

Due to the geometries of non-mass hyperspace early warning technology, the absolute minimum requirement is four Kar'tayl platforms for a single hyperroute, assuming traffic of interest is coming from only one direction. A critical installation can often use four sets of six platforms, two on each side of the installation, so that the two sets nearest the installation can interdict even the fastest ships that pass the two farther sets. Obviously your desired degree of coverage will vary depending on how critical any given location might be. But those are details that our people can discuss later. Suffice it to say that Clan Rekali will provide you as many Kar'tayl stations as you need.

Best wishes,
Alec Rekali

Looking over the offerings, the only thing he was interested in was Jovan Station. It was already gaining quite a deal of interest, especially from one [member="Danger Arceneau"] .Anything he felt the need to bid on the woman was already there swooping in on him. A small grin came to crack his otherwise stoic expression, amusement coloring his mood. He slowly fished his comm out, scrolling through the messages and sending a text to Miss Arceneau.

Always one step ahead of me I see. Is this your way of making me save my credits? If so its working quite well.

Salacia Consolidated was growing, but it was no Arceneau Trade. Judah wasn't sure of their hard numbers, but he suspected the company could withdraw a billion or two in liquid assets without even blinking an eye.

[member="Alec Rekali"]

A small beep caught the Queen of Trade's attention. It was from Alec Rekali. Reading it over gave her a bit of relief in hearing that she'd be able to contract out for the Hyperspace scanners. Her thumbs flew across the display as she quickly sent a message back.

Ms Rekali,

My gratitude for your quick response. I am pleased that Clan Rekali is able to produce Kar'tayl monitor stations. I agree, the minutia of the details may be discussed at a later time, but be certain that I would be placing an order for full coverage on all directions of traffic. Certainly a large order, and I am sure it would take time to fill, but seeing as I am well aware of the quality of Rekali's products, I am willing to invest in a lengthy long term contract for it.

I would also be interested in purchasing other products at that time.

Best Regards,

Danger Arceneau.

She gave a quick tap to send the communication, only to hear another small beep, beep. It was another message, but this was had its own separate additional tone. A smile would grace her lips before she began to read it, knowing that it was from [member="Judah Dashiell"] himself. The contents made her chuckle. Leaning forward against the Dejarik board she was playing at, Danger quickly tapped a reply.

Mistah Dashiell, I only have your best interests at heart! If you are so keen on purchasing stations, I could personally inquire on a few that would be similar to the Jovan.

... Or you could take my little one and me to dinner and I'll be happy to pull back my bid. I'm sure Myra and Makai would enjoy that.

Judah gave a snort of laughter upon reading the Trade Queen's reply. Leave it to [member="Danger Arceneau"] to give a list of requests without seeing if he was interested first. Jovan Station was nice. It would be an excellent addition to the company. However he could technically build something similar. The farmboy was too ingrained in his soul to simply buy such a thing. Besides, did he even really want to bother with Yavin? Salacia was all about the southern half of the 'verse these days.

He quickly sent a reply.

I think I'll pass on purchasing stations. I suppose I will have to stop being lazy and build another. For some reason I am enjoying the Kathol Outback region. Striking before the iron gets hot down there, so to speak.

Are you asking me out on a date? I would be happy to escort both of you ladies to dinner, no bid retraction necessary.

Saera Willamina Savan

~+--- Skaidra ---+~ Beskarsmith, Alchemist
Since the purchase of exploration supplies from Clan Rekali's manufacturing front some weeks back, Saera had been keeping tabs on the clan's latest developments. News of the Gordian Reach auction traveled to her fast. Recent business held her between the Republic, Clans and Empire, making her personal attendance relatively convenient for her. She figured she was doing it out of some detached respect for the late Ember Rekali since her mother -- introduced to the clans and the resol'nare by the man over a pot of tea -- would have likely been a Rekali herself if not for being so free-spirited. In any event, it was a good opportunity to kick-start her new enterprise and she was going to be cordial.

The little Sithspawn raised nudged for her protocol droid to raise a sign and place her opening bid.

********************
(Lot C) - (1) Custom non-production (Semi-Unique or below) warship with the most advanced, powerful armament of its class the galaxy wide, or advanced ship with fully personalized technologies.

(Lot H) - (3) Alchemy- or Force Imbue-based weapons, armors or trinkets (Limited or below) (including basic 10-post development threading for each, where necessary / or one big thread for one(1) particularly powerful submission)
********************

Saera was no Rekali and she could never compare to their astrogation or exploration talents, but she hoped she could barter the things she had learned helping Pandeima operate Ri'ess and Emeritus which no other corporation in the galaxy yet boasted. As for the bid on Herf... well, to her the ship looked pretty.

[member="Alec Rekali"]

Edit: Copy-paste error where it said Limited or Below on both bids. ><

Danger didn't have to wait long for Judah to reply. He must be near the sector, she mused, chuckling at the response. A twist of her lips and she quickly jotted down:

Well since you accepted, reckon you could call it that. A play date it is!

And is that where you've been off too lately? The Kathol Sector? The way I hear it, time works differently there. Not to mention how long it takes to travel to and fro. You and Makai gonna go on disappearing for a couple of years now?

I'll tell you right off Judah Dashiell, I won't stand for that. You'll get me knocking on your door faster than Irani enjoys gathering holding stock!

Ocean blue eyes looked over the offerings once more. A small shrug came to his shoulders, thinking this was an opportune time to bid. The idea of owning most of a planet seemed interesting. Yavin IV? He wasn't keen on the idea of being out in Mado space but this was one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

Lot A : Yavin IV , Bid : 60 Million Credits [[member="Alec Rekali"]]

Turning back to the comm and [member="Danger Arceneau"] 's message, he couldn't help but chuckle. Judah appreciated the protective nature of her concern. The not wanting him (and Makai) to run off into the black for years. It would be all too easy if the Trade Queen wasn't around to keep him in line.

Not going that deep into the Kathol Sector, so stop frettin'. As for where I've been, I've been around. No where exciting like odd time warped sectors.

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

A fresh new set of bids for Danger to mull over. Someone else was bidding for the Station. Looked like there were also others interested in the Yavin moon and what have you of some Lost City.

Honestly, Danger had no idea why it would even be interesting for anyone. Another beep, and the Queen of Trade would flick her attention back to her datapad. A snort was her response, along with a grin. Quickly tapping back, Danger replied with:

Better not! And I see you got yourself keen on finding yourself a small moon. What are you planning on doing, Judah? Planning a little Green party of your own?

After pressing send, Danger mulled over if she should place an additional bid for the station. She'll think on it some more. There was still time.

Now that he actually bid on the moon, Judah had no idea what to do with it, barring he won of course. He supposed the businessman in him saw the price per acre at a decent price. The chance to own a Massai Temple? Priceless as well. It wasn't as if they were still making them. Perhaps turning it into some type of nature reserve with a visitors center. Educational opportunities for underprivileged non-Force users? That would be amusing, given the space was once/is a Jedi Academy.

What do I plan on doing? Create a sanctuary for scruffy, humble farmboys. No barbers. All citizens will be required to have beards, even the women and children. Worry not Miss Arceneau, should I win my plans are completely altruistic in nature.

Hitting 'send' , Judah ran a hand through his overgrown curls. Maybe he'd have to rethink that no barbers rule, at least break it before escorting the Arceneau women to out dinner.

A wide grin shone at the reply. Thumbs darting with quick speed, the elder Dashiell would soon receive the following:

Be careful Mistah Dashiell; most eligible ladies find scruffy faced humble farmers rather tempting. Before you know it, you'll end up overrun!

Another brief chuckle, and she gave a small pause. After a moment, she tapped out:

Perhaps you should consider something selfish, Judah. Why not do something you want to do?
Ain't nothing wrong with being a little selfish now and then.

Aedan Miles looked over the items up for bid running a hand through his recently cup now midnight blue hair as he thought. Finally he entered a bid on a certain item a small smirk crossing his lips as he did. After placing the bid he gestured to one of the members of Clan Akaata getting them to retrieve a bottle of his aged whiskey from the shuttle.

Lot H: Immortal-class Dreadnought Gethzerion

Bid: 1 full unit of Red Fang as well as 1 Widow-class frigate

Akilah Samara heard news of the Great Gordian Reach Auction as it went viral on the holonet. Nearly an entire planet was up for auction? Old Jedi and Sith temples? It was fascinating to see that somebody didn't need, or want that sort of real estate. Perhaps it was cursed, and the previous owner was just trying to get it off of their hands. In any case, it could provide some valuable info for Akilah's dissertation. She could record the auction, it's bets, it's results, and then later take the information from the winning bids, try and take it to a specialist. Get an approximate price for everything purchased, and then real estate quotes for similar territories that weren't the Force-Strong Locations [member="Jorus Merrill"] had described. It'd be quite a bit of work, but it'd definitely be a way of measuring Force User's effect on the economy.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

A small scoff at the chance of being overrun with eligible ladies. His brought his hand up to reply, catching the glint of the silver wedding band he still wore. Judah had yet to figure out if it wore it more for himself or Makai. Maybe a mixture of both. A bit of melancholy struck him at the thought of taking it off. Or finding someone else in his life to fill the void left by [member="Thessa Kai"] .Was he destined to be alone for the rest of his years?

It seemed being selfish had got him in trouble once before. If he had spent more time at home. Paid more attention. It was a dangerous line of thought, one that could lead him down a path of self-hate and a million 'what-ifs'. He did his best to push it out of his mind and focus on the reply. No one had bid on the moon, so it seemed he was in the clear for now.

Do what I want? You just said I couldn't run off in to the black for years on end, might want to make up your mind Miss Arceneau. I imagine I am plenty selfish, you just ain't around to see it. Maybe I uproot Makai, turn Yavin IV into the new Salacia Consolidated HQ, forget Ceto and the Southern half of the 'verse and push my interest into the Silvers.

Seems like a bit of work, perhaps a fresh start is needed though.

EDIT : My apologies, I missed [member="Popo"] 's bid on Yavin IV. Counter bid [[member="Alec Rekali"] ]
