EMERGENCY MEETING REQUESTED
CORROX CENTRAL, MAHPOREEM
CONCORD SPIRE
Karking Corellians! Ronhar was beginning to understand firsthand
Marlon Sularen
's obsession with them, after he finished listening to
Everette Clairmont
's latest tirade. It wasn't the fact that Clairmont was opposed to
Mahporeem's plans that annoyed him, it was rather the complete and total hypocrisy of what he was saying that was really getting to Ronhar. It was easy to talk a big game when one could go running to the
High Republic at the first sign of trouble, which is exactly what Corellia had done with Sularen had arrested their ambassador and nearly sent the man to Imperial prison. It seemed Clairmont had no objections to military action and armed escalation when it benefited him and his people, and if he was really as concerned with military expansion as he claimed he was, then he would surely be protesting any and all High Republic attempts to expand their own sphere of influence, would he not?
For an uncomfortably long amount of time after he finished speaking, Ronhar remained silent, seething with anger at what Clairmont had just said. Not only had he likely just ruined the trade conference, he had the gall to sit back down in his seat and drink his Caf as if he hadn't a care in the world!
"I see", Ronhar managed to get out with barely concealed rage. "That is an unfortunate position. You know, Mr. Clairmont, I heard about what happened between
Marlon Sularen
and your planet some time ago. At the time, those of us in the
Imperial Confederation thought the Supreme Commander's actions to be just a bit...overzealous, which is why we all worked together to secure the release of your man unharmed back to High Republic authorities. After, of course, the
armed excursion that the High Republic sent into Imperial controlled space, one that expanded the scope of High Republic military operations and led to the downfall of Imperial control, plunging billions of lifeforms into disarray and chaos. But I'm sure you protested such a gross overreach of High Republic control, as you've surely down anytime the High Republic has engaged in military action that expanded their borders", Ronhar quipped sarcastically.
"In any case, I suppose that's all a moot point, since the safeguards that existed to stop
Marlon Sularen
from attacking Corellia no longer exist. Regardless,
I believe its time for you to go", Ronhar continued as he motioned for two of the
Chrome Guardians to escort
Everette Clairmont
back to his ship. He would naturally be subjected to full Mahporeenian treatment while doing so: overt and covert signs of being followed, tracking and listening devices placed in the interior of his ship, and a fully armed starfighter escort out of the planet's atmosphere until he made the jump to hyperspace. It didn't matter that such devices would be found almost immediately, because that was exactly the point, to let Clairmont know that he was now on the radar of the Imperial Remnant. If, for some reason that didn't drive the message home, than the
bounty that the Imperial Remnant was going to place on Clairmont certainly would.
At this point, however, the damage was already done.
Junko Ike
and
Judah Dashiell
immediately pulled out of the meeting, though they had the decency to leave, and
Ivalyn Yvarro
logged off after withdrawing her support. At least
Alex Stern
and
Illithor Du'thra
were still on board, though
Danger Arceneau
had remained uncharacteristically quiet, perhaps still debating the pros and cons of Ronhar's offer.
Prystill Oasay
tried to console Ronhar the best way that she could, assuring him it wasn't his fault and offering a suggestion on others who might be more understanding of the Imperial Remnant's position. Ronhar took Pry's hand and squeezed it gently, thanking her for her efforts, not really caring anymore if anyone present said anything or made comments. He turned back to Stern and Du'thra:
"Well gentlemen, it seems that you've both got more of a backbone than most of those who've attended here today. You also have my sincerest thanks and gratitude for agreeing to work with us. Allow me to present you with a small token of my appreciation: schematics for the
Pyre-class Cruiser and the
TIE/CL. The
Pyre-class Cruiser is a warship converted from old luxury liners, and each example maintains many of the amenities found on the luxury liners before their conversion. They will serve your crew well for any long term expeditions or trips you might wish to undertake. The
TIE/CL is more akin to a prime mover, allowing you to transport heavy loads in confined spaces with ease. I hope both of these ships will serve you well.
Alex Stern
, we will also provide you with the previously aforementioned ships that you asked for, and
Illithor Du'thra
, we can discuss your payment further. I'll also be happy to take a look at those blue prints in just a bit. Pry, would you mind seeing these gentlemen somewhere more private, so that we can finalize the terms of their agreements? Take the
Chrome Guardians and a
Protocol Droid with you, I'll be with you in a moment. But first, perhaps a toast?"
Ronhar had a bottle of
Refined Coaxium Ambrostine brought to the table, and poured a beverage for himself,
Prystill Oasay
,
Alex Stern
and
Illithor Du'thra
.
"A toast to our new friendships and business ventures! May you make many credits in these upcoming months!"
With that, Ronhar walked over to
Danger Arceneau
with another poured beverage.
"Well, Miss Arceneau, you've heard my proposal, and you have two options before you. You could walk out that door right now and leave millions, if not billions, on the table, or you could agree to support my efforts and make a ton of money in the process. What is your answer?", Ronhar asked as he extended the drink forward, hoping beyond hope that Arceneau might just take it...
