- Void Stone Core - Within the bridge of the Grand Phalanx, General Azmodan keeps his most prized possession, a Void Stone. General Azmodan had this special addition to his ship for a very specific purpose. Should his force sensitive enemies manage to board his ship and find themselves on the bridge, they would find themselves brought down to his level in terms of capabilities as they are possibly nearly stripped of their force powers.
- The defensive properties of the Grand Phalanx make it one of the most durable capital ships in the entirety of the Confederacy.
- Force Users who near the bridge of the ship would find their force powers possibly dampened by the effects of the Void Stone held within the ship.
- A decently sized hangar provides the battlecruiser a sufficient complement.
- The Grand Phalanx is meant to be a powerfully built warship and not for speed or maneuverability. While the engines of the battlecruiser are rather strong, the ship still moves rather slow compared to other ships of it's designation.
- The Void Stone can easily be found and disposed of in order to give Force Users their powers back.
- The Void Stone is unable to distinguish friend from foe. All Force Sensitives would possibly feel the effects of the Void Stone.
- The odd design of the ship makes firing on targets directly ahead or behind the ship rather difficult, almost impossible at certain angles. Broadside is the most effective firing arc for the Grand Phalanx.
The Grand Phalanx is a named Basuke-class Grand Battlecruiser in the Confederacy of Independent Systems Navy. This battlecruiser is commanded by General Azmodan as he uses it to transport his forces throughout the galaxy. The Basuke-class is designated as a heavy carrier in the Confederate Navy and is based off of a Xarix ship design used by the species.
The Grand Phalanx boasts an impressive offensive armament. It is equipped with hundreds of heavy guns capable of doing some serious damage to enemy ships. In conjunction with it's capital weaponry, the Grand Phalanx is equipped with a decently sized hangar capable of holding a large quantity of starfighters, bombers, and dropships. While it's offensive capabilities are quite strong, it's defenses are even better. An advanced shielding system in the Blackgate Multicore Shielding System along with relatively new defensive technology make the Grand Phalanx one of the hardiest capital ships the Confederacy has. Should the shields be penetrated or brought down, the impervium hull is more than strong enough to withstand prolonged enemy fire, making the Grand Phalanx harder to crack open than an andoan mineral-fish.
