- Accessibility:
- The Ghost's Vein is a semi-mythical, restricted hyperlane -- largely unknown to the general public and actively obscured by those who rely on it.
- The route is not on standard star charts or registered with any mapping authorities.
- Navicomputers must by manually updated with encrypted jump coordinates, often passed hand-to-hand.
- The existence of the Vein is whispered in backrooms, cantinas, or deep on shadowfeeds, but most citizens believe it's a smuggler's tale or exaggerated legend.
- Ordinary spacers, cargo haulers, or tourists would lack the technology and access codes to safely navigate the Vein.
- Without precise data, attempting to jump to worlds like Af'el or Honoghr via this path is suicidal-- many ships are rumoured to have vanished trying.
- Some trade guilds or backwater captains may know of it vaugely, but fear or dismiss it due to its hazards and reputation.
- Route Hazards:
- When passing by Af'el, which is located upon the edges of the Vein, navigators who do not know much about the planet, or it's star system, are likely to die, or crash onto the planets surface. This is because Af'el orbits an ultraviolet-emitting star, which gives off very little visible light. Space around the system is cloaked in darkness, disorientating travellers who rely on visual starfields.
- There are gravitational anomalies in the Af'el system that can pull ships off-course unless precisely countered by a skilled pilot.
- Magnetic interference emanating from Af'el are erratic and strong, which may interfere with both sensor systems, and navicomputers.
- If a traveller were to rest on Af'el itself then they could come across the native Defel. While not usually aggressive they may exploit the shadows on the planet for it's surface is dark.
- In the Ghost's Vein, the segment near Af'el would require shielded navicomputers, gravometric compensators, and local beacon keys to travel safely-- making it a natural barrier for unprepared travelers.
- There is a covert micro-jump beacon hidden within a moon's orbit or a debris field near Honoghr, which is known only to a handful of trusted people. This node spoofs normal hyperlane traffic records, allowing ships to go undetected and leave no trace of galactic transit logs. Using this node requires authentic codes generated by The Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats which makes Honoghr only accessible on this route with them.
- When traversing the Vein near Sriluur, travellers are entering a harsh, remote system which makes them vulnerable to piracy and raids.
- Whether starting on the Vein at Florrum, or ending here, this star system is known to be lawless, and makes travellers suspect to more piracy and raids. Also, with the annexation of this planet by the Sith Empire in the aftermath of the Siege of Tion, a traveller may encounter Sith patrols passing through the system, or traffic utilizing the nearby hypergate which connects this place to the mainland Sith Empire.
- Travellers looking to rest on Kegan would be making a mistake. This is because the native race from this world, known as the Keganites, are extremely xenophobic to outsiders and in particular to Imperials.
- Not many have travelled to the planet Chiron. Travellers may find hyperspace data lacking in this region requiring extra time needed for a navicomputer to calculate the next jump point. This would be an awful situation to be if someone found themselves under attack, or stranded with few supplies left.
- Lianna, New Alderaan, Mon Cala and Pammant are subject to a lot of Imperial traffic ranging from commercial and civilian craft to military grade capital ships making this another dangerous segment for those traversing the Vein without papers.
- The planet of Lothal is governed by The Lothal Protectorate and was the site of a famous space battle contested by The Empire of the Lost and Tingel Arm Coalition. Expect patrols and debris left behind by war.
- The Vein passes through a mining world located in Wild Space called Shinbone. Beyond the fears and anxieties of becoming lost in uncharted space, this planet was hit by the Hardan plague and is still infectious to this day. Travellers stopping here are subject to infection.
- Beginning or ending your journey on the Vein takes you past Kessel. Home to the infamous spice mines makes this segment both lucrative and perilous due rampant piracy, and criminal activity that occurs here.
- Rest Stops:
- If passing through Vlemoth Port, travellers will come across a shady trade stop where semi-legal refuelling and black-market connections exist.
- Sanctuary is a refuge world. It is peaceful, and has been used many times for hiding fugitives, or resting unnoticed.
- Located on the planet Voss are hidden refuelling and repair stations carved into it's many cliffs which are maintained by the local mystics or exiles from the galaxy's major powers. There are also safehouses for Force-sensitives, refugees, or rebels escaping pursuit, which are often disguised as temples or ruins. Natural Force vergences, which may be used to attune hyperspace routes, could be used to enhance navicomputer calibration. A network of subterranean caverns and Force-imbued paths, located below the surface of the planet, affect the Force in strange ways, granting precognition, visions or spiritual encounters. These tunnels could be used to hide from other Force-sensitives, and in the case of any precognitive amps, visions or encounters with spirits, travellers could be warned of possible danger waiting for them along the Vein.
At the turn of the ninth century a conspiracy was created during the Imperial occupation of The Tion Hegemony. It was called The Fifth Wing: a conspiratorial, seditious, treasonous organisation which infiltrated The Empire of the Lost to reform it into a superpower aligned to the rule of the Sith Empire, and if it could not be changed, then it was to be destroyed from within. In order to facilitate the conspiracy a means of secretly transporting infiltrators from Sith space into Imperial territory had to be established. Therefore The Ghost's Vein was charted and subsequently created by

The Tsis'Kaar are one of the three most powerful Warlord states within the modern day Sith Order and have formed a triumvirate that has maintained their grip of power upon the Eleventh Sith Empire for decades. This secular Sith sect used The Ghost's Vein to send saboteurs, spies and infiltrators into the then occupied Tion Hegemony which had been mostly conquered by The Empire of the Lost at the beginning of the ninth century. These members of the Tsis'Kaar joined the expats of the Tenth Sith Empire (the predecessor of the current Sith Empire and former conquerors of the Tion Hegemony) alongside disgruntled individuals among the Imperials to form The Fifth Wing. They would later be responsible for the economic collapse of The Empire after they were manipulated by

The Ghost's Vein was crucial in supplying weapons, ammunition, supplies, technology and critically important information, often classified or meant to be secret, to the Tsis'Kaar about The Empire of the Lost. It was through the use of this obfuscated, rarely travelled hyperlane that

The route was also used by smugglers pedalling Spice from the Spice Mines of Kessel to planets located along The Ghost's Vein or out of then occupied Imperial space as part of their smuggling operation. Profits and revenue from this trade funded The Fifth Wing during it's activities in the Tion Hegemony. These funds were later stolen from the conspiracy by
