Leddie nodded. Then started to type something into the jump computer. “Just in case. Tsad’ll be the first ship out if anything goes crazy. The most people and lacking his usual fighter compliment. Plus I know somewhere we can get to if we have to scatter.” This might have sounded odd to anyone who didn’t know how Gred ships were made. Leddie talked like she was referring to a person, and to the young Gred she was. Tsad’s AI that shared its name. That line was always blurred in all honesty. Cordy had been moved into a new hull, but it was still her hull.

The Zabrak then started to reenter atmosphere, getting ready to fly in the blue as she went through a few more of the ship’s systems outside the basic flight controls.

“You really beefed up the arma…. Did you raid a munitions ship before flying here?” She asked half joking. Even her own heavy fighter wasn’t this well armed, and she was built on an escort/anti-capital platform. Yes, a lot of Gred ships tended to be supped up, but this was a whole other level. Then again they also tended to serve as many functions as possible. Her ship even worked more like a small homeship if needed.

Mig nodded, as he spoke up.

“Fine. Just don’t make new hostiles in the process, got it.” He cut the comm before looking back out to the people, trying to hold back his own worries here. He finally slipped his helmet on, linking up his hud to his eye as he heard Veyla. He looked over, a sigh escaping.

“I just hope if it’s someone stupid it isn’t one of ours.” He admitted as he watched one of the evac corvettes beginning to spin up for its first run to Tsad. He looked out, as a gunship and refitted freighter also took off and started following the corvette, half escort and half evac ships in and of themselves. Honestly, if there were anyone from The Light that had gotten aboard he didn’t exactly care. If they didn’t cause problems or risk lives that would mean they were part of the evac for all he cared.

He noticed a Nether Hound soldier trying get people moving away from the corvette’s old landing site. Insuring it would be clear.

The steady rhythm of transports lifting through the rain drew Veyla's attention only long enough to confirm what mattered most. People were leaving. Families were getting off-world. Whatever battles raged beyond the cloud cover, the evacuation still held together.

That was enough.

Her visor swept across the moving sea of civilians again, searching not for panic, but for patterns. The frightened were easy to read. They clung to loved ones, carried too much, stopped too often, or stared back toward homes they were leaving behind. Those weren't the people she was looking for.

It was the ones who moved with purpose despite the chaos.

The ones watching more than fleeing.

The ones who seemed to be measuring exits instead of following them.

Mig's concern echoed her own.

"Let's hope not," she answered over the squad channel. "The last thing these people need is friendly armor pointing weapons at one another."

Her gaze tracked the departing corvette until it disappeared into the rain before returning to the stadium entrance.

"If someone is here," she continued calmly, "they're either trying very hard to disappear... or they're waiting for something."

She rested one hand lightly against the haft of the beskar spear across her back, not in preparation to draw it, but from long habit.

"We stay visible. We keep people moving. If anyone wants to force a confrontation, they'll have to choose between exposing themselves or letting the evacuation continue."

A heartbeat of silence followed as she watched another family hurried toward one of the waiting transports.

"Either outcome works for us."

Without another word, Veyla resumed her patrol, drifting toward the edge of the evacuation lanes where she could keep both the crowd and the approaching avenues in view. Every few steps she acknowledged another civilian with a nod or a gesture toward the proper line, quietly reinforcing the orderly flow. If trouble came, she intended to meet it well away from the people they had sworn to protect.

Kael nearly laughed when she was going through the specs of the ship. When she asked about his armaments, he chuckled, "No, Miss Gredd, the Cabur Rekr is a custom design I worked on with the king of Naboo. I ran into him and marveled at the N-1s he had at a festival, a little negotiation with Clan Skirata and Clan Kryze, and here we are with a 1 of 1 Gunship and bomber."

As they make their way back, he coordinates with the evacuation medics to have six new passengers ready to pile on.

Leddie looked surprised, thinking about her own HF-3 Aran she’d been working on. She still needed to work out some details, but it would be her’s. Either way, she quickly swapped the console back to normal flight mode, and looked ahead, taking a breath. It was only then that “Miss Gred” registered, and she looked back.

“You can just call me Leddie.” She said, hiding a hint of surprise at the formality as she turned back around. It was surprising to heard especially on assignment, bit it wasn’t the worst….

Still she focused as she guided the J-Type back to its landing pad, knowing more people would be ready. “You know, this is my first time on a mission like this. Always heard jagyc’buir talk about it, but…. A little too familiar at times.”

OBJ III - Jedi Enclave

Alone in the darkened residential wing, the seconds between breaths stretched into minutes. Adelle had her night vision activated, coloring the temple in shades of green and black. The Umbaran padawan could see clearly enough without either the Force or any manufactured aid. So far, the young Jedi hadn’t yet ignited her lightsaber although it stayed ready in her hands, held in front to keep Adelle at bay. There was stress underlying the need to stand firm in the padawan, something stirring beneath the surface.

Something the padawan struggled with.

“You can feel it, can’t you?” Adelle slowly lowered her hands and took a cautious step forward. “How wrong this is in the Force. Like something’s twisted, healed wrong.”

“You speak like you know the Force.” The Umbaran’s tone was still harsh but the lightsaber stayed dormant. “You’re just a Mandalorian.”

“I am an Iron Wolf, a Mandalorian that uses the Force. And before that, I was a Jedi Master.” Adelle kept her approach slow and steady.

“A Master?” The stance became rigid as the padawan’s surprise permeated the Force. “Then why are you helping enslave the planet?”

“Enslave?” This time, Adelle straightened as she stopped and cocked her head to the side. “We came with reasonable terms to annex the planet. Accept the rule of the Mandalorian Empire, pay taxes, and the planet keeps its sovereignty. Take up arms, and we’ll do the same.”

“That’s not what the Master said.”

“The Master?”

“Master Quin said you were puppets of the Sith, serving them and spreading their tyranny! You hate the Force and would exterminate us all. You’d send the innocent back to your Sith masters as slaves!”

“And yet it was the Jedi that commanded the planetary government to bend to their will. The Order might not have fired first, but it put the blaster in the shooter's hands and put their finger on the trigger,” Adelle said, keeping her voice even. She took a slow step forward. “‘There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony.’ Reach out with the Force. Does this feel like the Jedi code being followed?”

“Master Quin said—”

“But what does the Force tell you? Does this feel right?”

The Umbaran hesitated, and Adelle could see the wheels in her head turning as her resolve to fight weakened. “N-No, but— He’s my master. He wouldn’t— He wouldn’t teach me the wrong things.”

So this was Nikola Quin’s apprentice. Which meant the door she stood in front of was probably Master Quin’s room. And the dorm Adelle was looking for.

But the padawan still blocked her path in the opening stance of Shii-cho, although she was old enough to have learned the other forms.

“Like I said, something is wrong here,” Adelle said, taking another slow step forward. “Something’s wrong in the Force. I came to find out why. So why did your master leave you here, when his righteous fight is in Riverbreaker?”

“He didn’t leave me,” the Umbaran corrected sharply, even as her stance relaxed. “He told me his old room needed protecting.”

“An abandoned room in an abandoned place needs protecting?” Adelle tilted her head with the question, so the Umbaran could read her body language, see that she truly wasn’t here for a fight. “Seems a little weird. Especially with the power going only to certain places. Why would anyone ask a padawan to defend an empty room?”

Adelle let the question hang in the air, let her words sink in. This one, at least, hadn’t yet fully bought into whatever doctrine the Temple Master was teaching. There might be hope yet.

“I left my Order because a master so firmly believed in his own righteousness that he fell to the Dark side without knowing,” Adelle said. “And that council let it happen until a friend of mine, a former padawan, went to confront him. I’m not saying it’s happening here. I’m just trying to find the truth.”

She waited a moment, the silence of the halls pressing in. The Umbaran still held her ground but the underlying struggle intensified.

“Please.” Adelle nodded at the door. “Your master may have a good reason for this resistance. I just want to know why. We can end the fighting.”

The strength of Mandalore was commonly thought to be their unmatched prowess in combat. That was, in part, true but the real strength of Mandalore was the endurance of its people. For all their infighting and factionalism, the Mandalorians as a culture were cohesive and corporative. They did not need race or order to keep them together. They were strong without needing a strong hand. This fact was exemplified by what was happening on Uyter this very moment. A call went out for action and the Mandalorians as individuals answered and sorted themselves into an effective and organized operation to achieve the desired goals. They did not need months of endless debating as the Republic did, or the threat of violence and retaliation on those who would be found wanting by an oppressive Empire or even the need for fear and manipulation as was the custom of the Sith. All they needed was a clear call for the good of the people and the people would respond.

This trait stood them well in adversity and allowed the Mandalorian culture to survive in the face of calamities that would wipe out a less resilient nation. But they had regained their Empire and that unfortunately meant a modicum of bureaucracy. And that was why, long after the airlift of Uyter began that a hired Trio of GR-75 Transport-Liners, and an Imperial Gozanti Protection Cruiser Came out of hyperspace and into the planets orbit. The Gozanti touched down and over the general comms announced that the spaceport and air traffic was now under the jurisdiction of the Mandalorian Empire. Personell disembarked from the Gozanti and made their way to the port authority to coordinate the evacuation and announce to the refugees that provisions had been made for safe passage had been arraigned to the planet of Maridun where a transit camp had been established to see to the needs of those wishing to relocate with a guarantee that, as loyal members of the Mandalorian Empire their needs would be addressed and they would have the right of return to their homeland once the system had been stabilized if they wish.

Transport officers soon came on the comms to facilitate the air traffic from the ground to the orbiting evacuation ships and Dral-kar'ta Sandyr and sought the Mandalorian who had assumed leadership of the evacuation and to give what aid and support he could.

| Objective | II - The Uyter Airlift

The crowd of weary refugees swelled and ebbed like a relentless tide, their desperate forms pressing together in an undulating mass that only the wavebreakers forged of beskar could part. Each wave crashed against the evacuation ships, their hopes and fears mingling in the chaos, pressed deep into the bellies of the machines of steel and fire. With every vessel that ascended into the vast expanse of space, the waves' collective strength seemed to ebb, leaving behind a haunting sense of yearning and loss—buried beneath a new wave of desperation, a new flow of ragged clothes and stumbling limbs.

Hours had already passed, and yet the tide never stopped.

Itzhal leaned forward, his fingers gripping the cold metal rail with such pressure that his knuckles turned a stark white. The frigid surface seemed to sap the warmth from his bodysuit, sending shivers up his arms and sharpening his awareness against the unsettling chill permeating the air. His visor pulsed with activity, cycling through an array of wavelengths; displaying a kaleidoscope of heat signatures and even more esoteric forms, yet nothing stood out; nothing urgent caught his eye.

Amidst the thrumming chaos of thousands moving together like the churning waves, a solitary figure draped in a weathered traveller's cloak blended seamlessly into the ebbing mass. It was hardly surprising. There was a reason Itzhal disliked coordinating security for a venture like this, where time and sheer numbers were against them.

Quietly, he watched, observing the crowd as his body braced for disaster.

Kael sighed, "I beg your pardon, Leddie, I'm just used to treating everyone around me as an Alor." He switched to comms so that he could talk to her while he was loading patients. "I started at the bottom of society multiple times. My parents were taken when I was young; I lived on the streets till I thought I had found a savior, only to be abandoned by my founder, left to fend for myself on the plains of Concordia for years. My Buir, Adelle, found me, took me in, showed me that I had a talent, but even then I had to start at the bottom. Now I'm here saving civilians with someone I fought off two former Mand'alor with, who themselves were powerful force users. Sometimes I feel like a small ship adrift in an asteroid belt; one wrong move and I'm going to be crushed."

She looked down at the console, hearing the story of Kael’s past as it made her think of her own. “I know the feeling…. Never knew my parents, and my buir picked me up when the clan raided a slave ship. Lived on Concord Dawn to a Sith attack, and that’s when the clan went to the black for safety. Buir… he was lost, but that’s with Jagyc’buir and Dalyc’buir took me in. Guess a little opposite though I’m not use to working with stricter ranks and things.” She admitted, quickly checking fuel and thinking about the Mand’alor fight.

She was half sure she was still sore from that fight. “Yeah. That was a fight…. Wouldn’t say I felt like I’d be crushed… ok maybe literally. Just… a bit lost. Like I didn’t have a nav computer or astromech to help get anywhere.”
