The Academy's multi-level gym and obstacle course now sat flooded, transformed into a wide stretch of clear, gently moving water reaching out side like a massive lake. Rays of sunlight poured through the tall vaulted openings above, glinting across the surface beneath swaying-branches of an ancient wisteria tree whose heavy violet blossoms spill over the upper walls. The original sections of the training floor lay several meters below, completely submerged. Only a scattered path of platforms remained, suspended above the water. Some stayed wide and steady, while others balance on narrow mechanical columns, tilted under shifting weight, or sank beneath the surface before rising somewhere else.

The walls join the obstacle course as panels snap open without much warning, extending narrow bridges, climbing grips, balance beams, swinging ropes, and broad plates that slide out over the water, then pull back again. Higher routes wound through hanging rings and moving walkways. Lower paths forced careful steps across platforms barely big enough for a single pair of boots in a line. Training remotes drift between levels, firing harmless marking bolts and nudging anyone who lingers too long in any one spot. Falling here typically means a cold plunge and a climb back out, though the course rarely lets anyone try the same route twice.

At first, it looks like a simple race from one end to the other, though that illusion fades fast as platforms split apart, bridges retract, and some obstacles only work with more than one person. Some Jedi push ahead with speed and instinct whilst others steady moving panels, guide someone across a gap, or catch a misstep. There are no assigned teams and no single path forward... just brisk cold water below, shifting structures ahead, and whoever happens to be close enough to lend a hand.

A sealed training holocron waits at the highest platform, containing a reward.

Leos was quite good at parkour. Vaulting was really one of the only ways to get around quickly on a city world like Daiyu, so he had lots of practice grabbing onto non-organic objects and making his way through strange terrain. It was the timing that he was struggling to get. Shifting climbing walls, temporary walkways, all stuff that needed you to be perfect. There was a holocron at the top that they were all climbing for, and Leos wanted it.

He was, after all, fairly competitive. Much as he hated to admit such a thing. Leos was very certain his father was competitive too...

The Themian hadn't made it up far before he had to hunker down behind some cover. Low power bolts came from a training remote on the other side of it, something he would have to handle very quickly so that he could progress. All the while he was still looking up, trying to get a feel for the pattern of the next platform he had to jump to.

"Good grief..." Leos muttered to himself. "Can't any of you have one predictable movement pattern?"

The boy then turned his gaze down to see how many were getting to where he was. He wanted to know if he was keeping up with the others or being left behind.

Braze followed along on the observation balcony of the second floor, walking the length of the deck as he studied his student below.

"Patience, young hopeful… Predictable things teach obedience, whilst the uncertain path teaches valuable listening skills," Braze called softly.

"Could it be you've forgotten your saber?"
Braze asked curiously. "Sometimes it is necessary to create a path where there is none."

He'd never been to this temple before today but from what he'd seen he knew he'd have to explore it later on. It was beautiful and novac couldn't wait to take it all in afterwards.

Novac was hanging by his tail on one of the poles sticking out from the wall, one of the few not moving, trying to figure out his next path.

Most didn't want to fall because they'd be wet and have to start over. But novac was dreading falling in that cold water due to his warm blooded biology.

The little training remotes proved to be annoying, luckily novac was doing fine blocking their blasts with his lightsaber and was also holding between both left hands.

Looking over to Braze Braze he asked "So whats the rule with these? I'd rather not damage them to much unless I know where allowed to."

"Could it be you've forgotten your saber?" Braze asked curiously. "Sometimes it is necessary to create a path where there is none."

"No, I just... didn't know if that was allowed," Leos huffed.

He didn't want to admit that he still wasn't the best at deflecting blaster bolts. Then again, this was the time to get good, right?

So he activated his blade and moved out of his cover. He tried to volley the bolts back towards the remotes but... one after the other missed. It was hard to anticipate where they would move, or how to even send the bolts exactly where he wanted in the first place. Finally he grew tired and decided on a different path.

"Fine!" the boy hissed in frustration. "I didn't wanna do that anyways."

Using the Force, which he had grown far better at, he turned one remote around and pulled it towards him. Once he caught it in his hands he dipped around the cover and popped open it's back panel to begin to reprogram it.

He'd ask for forgiveness later.

"Training mode on your sabers should be fine. " Braze called softly to Novac Lyrikal Novac Lyrikal . He watched as his little apprentice scampered behind cover having pilfiered on of the droids from mid air.

"You know... That is one way to handle it.... but you're only robbing yourself from the experience of learning to feel the danger coming in a situation where the result is less deadly... You may not have the luxury of those tricks in the future... but good job at being resourceful. " Braze said taking note that drilling Leos with training remote would be something to work on later.

"You told me in that weird sand room to use everything I had access to," Leos muttered as he worked. "I feel like you're maybe being a bit contrarian to that message now."

After a moment he released the drone, which began to fire on its allies. That gave Leos more than enough of a gap to start climbing his way up to the next platform. It was a lot of climbing, but he still had a lot of energy in reserve at the moment. No burn yet. Even so, Leos could see this getting arduous the longer it took to complete.

"I'll get better at deflection later," he insisted.

Right now he just had to get this done and over with. He didn't have time to bank on a skill he wasn't comfortable with.

Training mode should be fine huh novac thought as he deflected another shot. Looking down at the remote he was holding he got a idea, hopefully one that he wouldn't get in trouble for.

Waiting for the other remote that was still flying around to stop for a second novac held the one he had in one hamd behind his head. Finally the one still flying stopped for a moment, as soon as it did novac threw the remote at it.

In a satisfying clank the one he chucked hit the other, it was a little to the right but hit its target anyway and sent the two down falling down into the water.

As he watched them fall he couldn't help but smile littlethat worked. Glancing over at Braze Braze he quickly spoke "Don't worry should be to damaged. if I did though bad, I'll fix em if needed."

He was tempted to go along the wall but it'd probably be cheating so he stuck to the only path available, a small platform moving up and down.

"The world isn't black and white. But I highly advise you to train for all types of situations… better to know something and not need it than need it and not know it," Braze mused in reply to his student.

"It would also be wise to sass your teacher less, and learn not to conflate the purpose of different lessons," he added, his gaze shifting ahead as he walked, still trying to keep track.

"That's alright, Padawan Lyrikal," Braze called gently, a coy grin tugging at his features.

It seemed the droids were, indeed, waterproof. They bubbled back up to the surface before hovering to life once more, taking a few more shots. Leos Leos wasn't free and easy for long, as more of the little floating pests zeroed in on him as he climbed.

They appeared to be designed to keep the students moving; to make them deflect, choose a course, and hold their balance all at once, melding thought to action beneath the pressure of the lesson.
