Writer Jump-In Guide

Overview
In the aftermath of the Planeshift Event, the Five Veils Trade Route — an ancient, semi-forgotten route running perpendicular to the Enarc Run — is being reestablished.
If successful, it will become a major artery of commerce, rivaling the Corellian Run.

Behind the scenes, Wend Marcion — an enigmatic magnate who controls a vast mega-corporation through layers of subsidiaries — is quietly moving to control the ports, planets, stations, and commerce along the route, aiming to become a shadow Empress of the economy.

  • Wend Marcion is never to be directly NPC'd.
  • Writers can create Marcion's lieutenants, CEOs, agents, or proxies.
  • Threads must tie into the current Chapter goal.

At the end of each thread, writers should submit a short TL;DR summary for the Lore Report, so the event evolves and grows for everyone.

Marcion's Megacorp
Cortessan Finance Group

A seemingly legitimate financial giant involved in acquisitions, mergers, and investments — but beneath the surface, it controls countless hidden subsidiaries across sectors like logistics, security, manufacturing, and trade. Cortessan's shadow stretches across the Mid Rim, Inner Rim, and Core border territories.

The Three Chapters

Chapter I: First Light on the Veil - (Currently underway)

  • Worlds compete for the trade route to pass their systems.
  • Nav buoys are deployed.
  • Old rivalries reignite.
  • Strange accidents and sabotage begin to hint at a hidden threat.

Chapter II: The Weight of the Crown
  • Marcion's agents apply political and economic pressure.
  • Hostile takeovers, blackmail, and covert moves to dominate the new route.

Chapter III: The Empire Behind the Curtain
  • Coordinated efforts begin to expose and dismantle Marcion's network.
  • Resistance rises as Marcion strikes back, desperate to maintain control.

Writer Participation Rules
  • Stick to the Chapter Goals: Make sure your thread fits the current stage.
  • No NPCing Wend Marcion: She remains a background threat.
  • Create Your Own Opponents: CEOs, smugglers, bounty hunters, corrupt officials — all fair game.
  • Post a TL;DR Summary: Give a quick bullet-point summary of your thread's major outcomes for the Lore Report.

Thread Prompts by Character Type

Politicians

  • Lobbying to secure a planet's position on the route.
  • Fighting smear campaigns funded by Marcion.
  • Secret negotiations to block her influence.

Smugglers
  • Smuggling vital cargo to bolster a world's claim.
  • Stealing nav buoys, star charts, or blackmail materials.
  • Running missions for desperate officials fleeing pressure.

Intelligence Operatives
  • Tracing shell corporations linked to Cortessan Finance Group.
  • Sabotaging nav buoys or black sites.
  • Turning captured CEOs into informants.

Fighter Pilots
  • Defending or raiding convoys laying claim to the route.
  • Dogfights against pirate groups funded by Marcion.
  • Hit-and-run missions against illicit supply chains.

Final Notes
Loose storytelling structure, tight thematic focus.
Writers have freedom to create, provided their stories feed the larger conspiracy.
The tone is political thriller — but there is room for action, betrayal, and intrigue.

Let's Keep This Brief

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):
  • RRI Agent Jara Voss infiltrates Antarran Station Z-95 to install a data spike.
  • Dray Therin provides remote case officer support and countermeasures to misdirect security.
  • Spike successfully planted, allowing backdoor access to encrypted financial networks tied to Marcion.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
The infiltration grants the Republic Intelligence Bureau direct access to shell transaction routes used by Wend Marcion. This opens the door for future tracing of arms deals and off-world laundering ops connected to the Five Veils Trade Route.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:
  • Antarran Station Z-95 (blacksite asset node used for laundering and secure data storage)
  • Galdar Holdings (Marcion shell company, mentioned in briefing)

Notes for Future Threads:
  • Financial data recovered may link to corrupt officials or compromised ports.
  • Marcion likely to investigate the breach—retaliation or counterintelligence expected.
  • Further missions required to exploit or dismantle the accessed networks.

The Art of the Stroll

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):
  • Dominic Trozky hosts a lakeside fundraising event on Naboo attended by prominent nobles.
  • The Five Veils trade route proposal is discussed as part of Senator Vonn's long-term political strategy.
  • Dominic privately seeks support from Bastila Sal-Soren, probing whether he can count on her loyalty amid looming political shifts.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
Dominic frames the Five Veils proposal as a critical stabilizing strategy for Naboo's future. The event establishes his efforts to secure elite backing for the plan. Bastila's agreement to act as an ally opens a new and potentially volatile Sal-Soren thread within the conspiracy—her political stance remains fluid, but her name carries weight. The moment reflects a growing fracture within the nobility over who should control access to the route.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:
  • Lady Renniva Marrik – A high-society patron with vague opposition to Trozky's efforts; represents wavering noble support.
  • Baron Tovis Quane – Investor in a navbouy company tied to Five Veils infrastructure contracts; suggests commercial pressure and competing stakeholders.

Notes for Future Threads:
  • Bastila's involvement creates a new opportunity for a Sal-Soren resurgence within the Veils conspiracy—especially if she uses her influence to draw Briana or Brandyn into the fray.
  • The navbouy company backed by Quane could become a front or pressure point in the ongoing battle for trade access.
  • Dominic's quiet unraveling of Marrik's and Talonne's influence opens the door to a realignment of aristocratic power that could either stabilize or fracture Naboo's position in the Five Veils corridor.

Upper Management Will See You Now

Chapter:
The Empire Behind the Curtain

Summary (TL;DR):
  • Ala Quin investigates the disappearance of the civilian freighter Larkspur Crescent and its Cerea-based crew.
  • Her, founder of the Tarsai Vigil, engages Ala in a high-stakes bureaucratic standoff, refusing cooperation while subtly masking her own uncertainty.
  • Ala refuses to back down, asserting Republic jurisdiction over Enarc and promising to escalate the matter further, establishing a long-term confrontation.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
  • This encounter sets the stage for a major rift between the Order of Shiraya and the Tarsai Vigil, potentially jeopardizing Cortessan Finance Group's cover operations on Republic worlds.
  • Her's deflection and subtle power play suggest higher-level interference, pointing to Wend Marcion's direct influence or a deeper cover-up involving the Vigil's parent company.
  • Ala Quin emerges as a growing threat to the conspiracy's veil of legitimacy, marking her as a future target or obstacle in the unfolding network of corporate manipulation.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:
  • Cint Druve – A charming but ultimately ineffectual middle manager within the Vigil, possibly a front to delay or distract investigations.
  • The Tarsai Vigil – A paramilitary subsidiary of the Cortessan Finance Group, officially a security force, unofficially a means of surveillance and influence over Republic shipping lanes.

Notes for Future Threads:
  • Ala's insistence on transparency may force the Royal Assembly to formally investigate the Vigil, drawing other Jedi or political allies into the conflict.
  • Her may launch a secret investigation into who deleted the records of the Larkspur Crescent, revealing fractures within the conspiracy itself.
  • The incident foreshadows a future direct confrontation between Ala and Her—one that may decide the fate of the Republic's influence over the Five Veils Route.

The Five Veils Conspiracy

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):
  • Jedi Knight Brandyn Sal-Soren and his Padawan Lysander von Ascania investigate the disappearance of Naboo businessman Ganner Ets on Farstine.
  • They uncover signs of a coordinated black market operation tied to the Skynara Trade League and multiple criminal factions operating from an abandoned mining outpost.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
The thread strengthens the connection between illicit trade activity and the Five Veils Conspiracy. The Skynara Trade League's concealed logistics hub on Farstine is likely part of a larger network designed to exploit or redirect key trade routes. The operation suggests a coordinated effort to undermine legitimate commerce in favor of criminal enterprises aligned with the Conspiracy's goals—possibly using the Five Veils route as a future leverage point.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:

  • Tarek, Farstine Dock Administrator (possibly complicit or operating under pressure)
  • Unnamed Twi'lek Registry Clerk (withholding key information)
  • Skynara Trade League (confirmed to have covert operations and influence on Farstine)

Notes for Future Threads:

  • Follow the black market trade routes from Farstine back to suspected Five Veils supply hubs
  • Revisit the Twi'lek clerk through diplomatic or intelligence methods to uncover what she's hiding
  • Investigate Skynara Trade League's deeper connections—especially financial records, client lists, and off-world affiliates
  • Monitor changes in local power structures on Farstine to determine if they are being influenced or replaced by Five Veils actors
  • Use the mining outpost as a potential entry point for infiltration or sabotage in a broader anti-smuggling operation

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:

The thread contextualizes Her Her 's involvement in The Cortessan Finance Group and the creation of it's subsidiary (The Tarsai Vigil) by revealing a plot to create a money trail which leads back to a Sith occupied planet and a clandestine military, shipbuilding organisation owned by Darth Virelia Darth Virelia . If discovered by Ala Quin Ala Quin 's investigation it creates a narrative in story which potentially exposes interference in The Royal Naboo Republic to generate the means of instigating a conflict between the Naboo and Sith through their involvement in Wend Maricon's Cortessan Finance Group and The Five Veils Initiative.

Darth Virelia Darth Virelia , who is now in possession of the reserved funds of The Tarsai Vigil, now has the means to bankrupt this subsidiary to Cortessan Finance Group while collecting data on the companies transactions and activities in The Royal Naboo Republic. She simultaneously acquires the evidence necessary to expose Sith influence in The Five Veils Initiative through the money trail Her Her has set up through their secret meeting.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:

Notes for Future Threads:
  • The Tarsai Vigil is a subsidiary of The Cortessan Finance Group. It patrols The Five Veils Route on behalf of it's parent company by performing inspections on civilian and or commercial ships using the hyperlane as well as administrating tolls or tariffs placed on those using the route for civilian or commercial reasons.
  • VesperWorks is a clandestine military, shipbuilding organisation based on the Sith occupied world of Polis Massa. It's involvement in The Five Veils Conspiracy is discreet and would be difficult to find by any would-be investigation due to The Blackwall.
  • The Blackwall is a border policy put in place by The Sith Order at the beginning of it's period of isolation from the rest of the galaxy. It creates an almost impenetrable barrier preventing ships coming or going from Sith occupied space as well as transmissions or other forms of information from reaching the other side. The Royal Naboo Republic rests on the border of this barrier due to it's proximity to Sith space and has been a target for refugees who fled nearby star systems to escape this anomaly.

Marked for Obstruction

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):
  • Jedi Master Ala Quin formally testifies before the Royal Assembly regarding the disappearance of the civilian freighter Larkspur Crescent, accusing the Tarsai Vigil of unlawful detention and a potential cover-up.
  • Multiple senators and observers, including Dominique Vexx, Annis Riyaré Annis Riyaré , and Eleonore Zoltán , respond with varying degrees of skepticism, concern, and political maneuvering.
  • Her Her , secretly a Sith and agent of the Cortessan Finance Group, attends the session incognito and begins mapping her political opposition while plotting a patient counteroffensive.
  • A datapad containing preliminary evidence is submitted to the Assembly and forwarded to Royal Naboo Intelligence, sparking a formal—if cautiously measured—debate on oversight.
  • Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx hints at offering private aid to Ala while proposing a review of the Five Veils contracts for Denon's interests.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
The incident has triggered an early fracture within the Royal Assembly regarding how deeply to probe Cortessan's influence. While not yet a fatal blow, Ala's testimony has:
  • Exposed the Tarsai Vigil to official scrutiny.
  • Prompted the Royal Intelligence Bureau to begin review procedures.
  • Compelled rival economic and political actors (e.g., Denon and Ropagi II) to assert new influence over the Initiative.
New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:
  • None on this occasion.

Notes for Future Threads:
  • Follow-up investigation threads involving the Royal Naboo Intelligence Bureau on Enarc or Cerea.
  • A private meeting between Ala Quin and Dominique Vexx, potentially laying groundwork for an alliance or manipulation arc.
  • Escalation of the Larkspur investigation could reveal deeper secrets within the Tarsai Vigil—perhaps implicating a second shell company.
  • Her may move to sabotage or discredit Ala through intermediaries while tightening Sith influence within the Assembly.
  • Zoltán or other noble houses might launch a rival trade initiative to counterbalance the Five Veils.

The Five Veils Conspiracy

It is a time of quiet upheaval in the Mid Rim. In the wake of the Planeshift event, the ancient Five Veils Trade Route has been reopened, offering hope of prosperity to frontier worlds long forgotten.

But behind the promise of growth, powerful corporations move in shadow. Backed by secret financiers and hidden agendas, a new security force has risen to dominate the lanes—imposing tariffs, silencing dissent, and rewriting the rules of commerce.

Now, as whispers of corruption reach the Royal Naboo Republic, senators call for oversight while others cling to profit. Intelligence operatives dig into the dark, and a fragile peace teeters on the edge of a conspiracy that could ignite conflict across the stars...

THE STORY SO FAR

After the Planeshift event disrupted galactic hyperlanes, the Five Veils Trade Route was revived as an initiative of the Royal Naboo Republic, under the oversight of the Cortessan Finance Group and other financial backers. This route promised economic revitalization for worlds on the southern frontier. But behind the promise of prosperity, something darker was moving.

Jedi Ala Quin began investigating the disappearance of a civilian freighter, the Larkspur Crescent, which vanished while traveling the Veils. Her inquiry pointed to The Tarsai Vigil—a corporate security arm of Cortessan—as the likely culprit. Their records were incomplete. A whistleblower had vanished. And all official channels had been sealed behind bureaucratic indifference.

Meanwhile, Naboo's intelligence arm—the Republic Intelligence Bureau—successfully infiltrated an Antarran blacksite, planting a data spike that exposed Cortessan shell companies laundering funds and hiding transactions. In a parallel operation, Brandyn Sal-Soren and his padawan, Lysander von Ascania, uncovered illegal smuggling routes on Farstine connected to the Skynara Trade League, likely working with Cortessan proxies.

Back on Naboo, Dominic Trozky, began privately courting elite support for the Five Veils Initiative. His lakeside fundraiser quietly realigned noble alliances, including gaining the tentative support of Bastila Sal-Soren, who now finds herself drawn into the struggle.

But the conspiracy runs deeper than politics. Ala's confrontation with the enigmatic director of the Vigil—known only as Her—revealed more than bureaucratic evasion. Unknown to most, Her is a Sith embedded in the Tarsai Vigil, shaping events along the Veils. Working with Sith Serina Calis, she began diverting Vigil reserve funds to a secret shipyard—VesperWorks—on Sith-occupied Polis Massa. The objective: obfuscate their financial trail while laying a trap for Ala and others who might uncover the truth. In a covert meeting, Serina flipped the script—gaining access to those funds and securing leverage over Her herself. With both Sith seeking to use the conspiracy to gain power, tensions now simmer between them, even as they maintain the facade of alliance.

The situation came to a head during Ala Quin's testimony before the Royal Assembly of Naboo. Senators responded with caution—some supportive, others skeptical—but the datapad she submitted forced a review to begin. Dominique Vexx of Denon subtly offered her own form of aid, while silently pursuing Denon's stake in the trade route. Countess Annis Riyaré and Duchess Eleonore Zoltán argued for tempered oversight, wary of destabilizing the Initiative—but keen to keep influence close to home.

Now, as investigations begin and allegiances shift, the Five Veils stand as more than just a trade corridor. They are the front line of a shadow war—between nobles and corporations, Jedi and Sith, truth and manipulation. And those who dare to peer through the veil may find the cost of clarity far higher than they ever expected.

Ghost in the Circle

Chapter:
The First Light of the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):

  • Bastila, under the alias Kira, infiltrates a pirate base to recover a critical information linked to the Sal-Soren Family past.
  • She discovers a data-chip that links some company details, her father's name and further encyrpted information.
  • A courier is taken hostage, but meets his end before any secrets can be shared. His cargo stolen by another unknown party using military-grade precision—and a trace of Republic clearance codes.
  • Ambushed by elite pirates, Bastila fights her way out, evades pursuit through the lower decks, and escapes aboard a stolen courier ship.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
This thread significantly escalates the mystery surrounding the Five Veils. The theft of the cargo implies a competing party—possibly with Republic ties—is aware of the actions within those tied (even unknowingly) to movements between various companies and working in parallel or opposition. Bastila's failure to recover the asset introduces urgency and a loss of control. We may discover that her involvement has kicked off a larger piece of the puzzle especially if Royal Naboo Republic Intelligence is somehow already involved. It may signal that Marcion's enemies—or internal operatives—are making their own moves to uncover or bury the truth behind the collapse of various parties and will go as far as killing to keep the secrets of who is who and what is what away from prying eyes.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:

  • Pirate Group on Kal'Shebbol: A cell of pirates, unusually well-trained, indicating professional backing or a splinter faction under a larger umbrella.
  • The Courier: A man who was last seen recieving a package at a ballet on Naboo, traced by RNR Intelligence until he managed to loose track of them just outside Naboo space. Now dead, found assassinated and his cargo missing. Traces of Republic codes were found on the slice into his cell and cargo box.
  • Rovari Transit Solutions: A seemingly legit Transit company recieving shipments off the Cortessan Finance Group under the name of Baros Sal-Soren.

Notes for Future Threads:

  • Investigate the identity of the operative who stole the package, following up on where it was taken and what specific contents were so vital.
  • Possible thread to uncover how the parcel and data-chip ties into the Sal-Soren's history with the companies within the Five Veils or Marcion's network.
  • More push towards Bastila reaching out to her siblings and bringing them into the conspiracy unknowingly.
  • The pirate fallout from having a Jedi appear in their ranks, leading to rumours of the Jedi infiltrating known elements of the set-ups around the Veil.

The Enarc Denial [The Royal Naboo Republic - The Five Veils Conspiracy]
The Larkspur Crescent Incident: A Tarsai Vigil Position Report [Five Veils Conspiracy]

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):

  • The planet Enarc has been recommended as an unviable destination or place of interest to be considered while revitalizing The Five Veils Route.
  • The Tarsai Vigil produces a dossier that is sent to the Five Veils Oversight Committee detailing the results of an investigation into 'The Larkspur Incident' while refuting the accusations made against the company by Ala Quin Ala Quin in Marked for Obstruction.

Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:

Enarc being rejected by The Five Veils Committee could be seen as unfair and a form of bureaucracy as other star systems are favoured by the initiative instead. It could also be perceived as a coincidence or a result of the accusations made against Tarsai Vigil (who are based on the same planet in question) who were accused by Ala Quin Ala Quin as being involved in the disappearance and subsequent cover-up of a missing ship called 'Larkspur Crescent' and a family called JUNO as the company is headquartered on the same planet.

The Tarsai Vigil submitting a dossier to the Five Veils Oversight Committee could be seen as an attempt to misdirect or deflect blame for their alleged involvement in the aforementioned 'Larkspur Crescent Incident'. They could also be telling the truth suggesting that something more sinister has happened. The revelation that the missing ship was manufactured by a SITH ran corporation which was subsequently stolen by the JUNO FAMILY as they fled Cerea (after it had been annexed by the Sith Empire) further exacerbates the idea of something more sinister is behind the events revolving the 'Larkspur Crescent'.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:

THE JUNO FAMILY-- Hal Juno, Raelin Juno and their daughter are refugees from Cerea who fled their homeland into the Royal Naboo Republic after the planet drifted into SITH space following the events of the Planetshift. Their planet was previously a state of the Galactic Alliance who were convinced to join in 902 ABY but has since lost their place due to the subsequent SITH OCCUPATION. They publicised criticism of the occupation and the creation of THE BLACKWALL which made them enemies of the state and forced them to flee into Republic space to escape persecution.

Notes for Future Threads:

The Tarsai Vigil still hasn't been officially cleared of their alleged involvement in the disappearance of 'Larkspur Crescent', the JUNO FAMILY or the whistle-blower who leaked data from their directory to Ala Quin Ala Quin which placed scrutiny upon them in the first place. Conversely the dossier they have submitted invites ideas that someone else was responsible for the aforementioned alleged crimes and that this subsidiary of the 'Cortessan Finance Group' was potentially framed.

As for the recommendation that Enarc should be rejected as a point of destination or further involvement in the 'Five Veils Initiative' does not necessarily discount the planet from being considered leaving space for further debate regarding their involvement in the project. The 'Five Veils Committees' recommendation does leave room for calls of bureaucracy in the Republic and the idea that certain special interests are being considered over others which could be considered as form of corruption with themes of unfairness which are left for open interpretation.

The Trouble With Pristine Wonders

Chapter:
First Light on the Veil

Summary (TL;DR):
  • Jedi Knight Vizion Trozky talks with his brother Dominic Praxon Dominic Praxon about the events of the previous night via holo, aboard the RNV Stellar Wind, which is careening through hyperspace to the last point on a survey of the security and viability of the proposed trade route.
  • Interrupting Vizion's convo, the RNV Stellar Wind emerges from hyperspace, to the sight of what confirms the Jedi's hunch of some sort of disturbance in the path ahead... which turns out to be an unknown planet far below the galactic technological standard
  • Vizion advises Captain Ortal - the commander of RNV Stellar Wind - that the existence of this planet must be kept quiet until decisions can be made around what to do about it. If anything.
Impact on the Five Veils Conspiracy:
An undiscovered, pre-industrial planet has been found near the proposed terminus of the Five Veils Trade Route - ethical concerns around fiddling with such a planet and its civilisation by routing through there, imo, would likely arise.

New NPCs or Organizations Introduced:
  • Captain Ortal of the RNV Stellar Wind and one unnamed crewwoman
  • The RNV Stellar Wind itself, as-yet a vessel of undecided type (I'm not a ships person!)
Notes for Future Threads:
  • Immediately following this, the planet - which unbeknownst to us is named Ayvara - would only be known of by certain members of the RNV Stellar Wind's crew - Captain Ortal, for one - and the Jedi Knight Vizion Trozky.
  • Shortly after the Stellar Wind returns to port (it returns just before Embers in the Ash), this information would be securely disseminated to the Council of Light/High Jedi Council, and select higher-ups in the Republic.
  • This could be on the table for discussion/debate on a few fronts:
    • between Vizion and the grandmaster, Briana, and/or amongst the Jedi Council
    • possibly between Vizion and his brother Dominic
    • with whoever is elected Chancellor/military command/etc
  • Beware leaks... or don't. We can always investigate you to within an inch of your life. ;)
