The First Ranger

Task-Force-29-HQ-briefing-room.jpg

Location: Briefing Room 3, Vingilot

The Jedi Order had an interesting conundrum developing right on board the Vingilot. A growing number of NFU soldiers and warriors were joining their ranks. On one hand, TJO was always grateful for new volunteers and the skill sets these particular individuals brought to the table, but on the other, no one wanted an Army of Light on their hands.

So how best to organize and utilize these individuals? That was the burning question of the hour.

As a solution was discussed, Jyoti had tapped the shoulder of one of the more experienced volunteers, [member="Noah Corek"], for his insights. She had never met the man before now, but she knew of his reputation and distinguished service record across many organizations, from the Rebel Alliance to the New Republic. Moreover, he had extensive experience a commando and officer. With the type of organization that the Echani had in mind, he seemed like a great fit.

Now just came the interview.

Noah sighed as he shuffled a deck of playing cards between his hands while sitting in this briefing room. Noah had followed his wife [member="Alexandra Feanor"] here to help with things around the Vingilot. Noah had argued that there was no real need for an experienced soldier and commander like him on a ship filled with Jedi but that opinion was changed. It changed when he noted just how many soldiers and non-force users had flooded onto the ship.

That was when he was approached by [member="Jyoti Nooran"] who was intent on finding a place for all these non-Jedi to be of use and so here he was. Sighing he put the deck down on the table before reaching into his jacket and withdrawing a flask. Unscrewing the cap and taking a swig he took notice of Jyoti entering the room and tipped the flask towards her. "Care for a drink Miss Nooran? Or is there some kind of rule against Jedi partaking in such vices?" Of course this was said with a heavy amount of snark.

Jyoti chuckled at Corek's offer of a drink (and his snark).

"I'll have you know," she started after accepting the flask, "that even in the original Jedi Order a thousand years ago, we were allowed to drink."

She gave the flask a slight jiggle, then took a small sip. It had quite the burn going down, but it still downright pleasant in comparison to the moonshine she had consumed undercover while in Hutt Space. Shady barmen and hustlers there basically served jet fuel.

"Otherwise, we'd stick out like a sore thumb while in the wild."

Smiling, she returned his flask and then reached to shake his hand with a firm grip.

"It's a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Mr. Corek. I have a new initiative for the formation special paramilitary group to assist the Jedi, and I was told that you were the person to get in touch with to help make that plan a reality. Interested in the job? I can answer whatever questions you may have."
