Dominique Vexx
High Republic Chancellor
Dominique smiled and listened to
That said, rather than aggressively oppose Alderaan's inductance, Eadu expressed a certain... consideration should the right circumstances be met. That was enough. They might not always agree, but they could at times. Enough to know it were possible, and -- by his words -- to know the general shape of how he sought the galaxy to be in order to have his approval. He did pose quite the requirement all that said. To draw in forces to defend against the Sith Order.
Oh, and for House Organa not to be its representative. A seemingly humble, but thorny matter.
As for Ambassador
"As part of joining the Republic they would be required to hold free and fair elections for their Republic representative. As enshrined in the Charter, you can be certain Alderaan wouldn't be afforded any special treatment." That being true, Dominique could hardly bar the entire House of Organa from participating in a 'fair and free' election held by a sovereign world. Perhaps Eadu counted on that; then so be it. Dominique wouldn't walk into a trap of being shown to be flagrantly violating the letter of the Charter.
On the other hand, were someone to try classifying them an 'oppressive' government as a monarchy that would require that someone be assigned the provisional role. Dominique hoped the Senator and Ambassador could appreciate the dangers in that circumstance.
"It does take time for democratic, representative systems to be put in place. Not every world agrees in the shape or scope of what their representatives or leaders should do. The Republic's diplomats tirelessly work to help all member worlds make that transition."
