Dominique smiled and listened to Eadu Yittreas Eadu Yittreas as he spoke. She even waited in the deliberate pause as he sought them to reflect on his magnanimous initial response. Persuasive as she hoped to be, however, people didn't change instantly. Those that did weren't long on your side for it to matter.

That said, rather than aggressively oppose Alderaan's inductance, Eadu expressed a certain... consideration should the right circumstances be met. That was enough. They might not always agree, but they could at times. Enough to know it were possible, and -- by his words -- to know the general shape of how he sought the galaxy to be in order to have his approval. He did pose quite the requirement all that said. To draw in forces to defend against the Sith Order.

Oh, and for House Organa not to be its representative. A seemingly humble, but thorny matter.

As for Ambassador Sycorax Laveaux Sycorax Laveaux , Dominique regarded the other woman with a smile. To house all the criminals in exchange for membership. She did recall something of that from the many matters Aurelian had left unresolved when the role of Chancellor had been torn away abruptly. Good of the woman to mention it, however. Showed she was still interested. Saved an awkward, if obvious holocall later to try and discern if that were the case.

"As part of joining the Republic they would be required to hold free and fair elections for their Republic representative. As enshrined in the Charter, you can be certain Alderaan wouldn't be afforded any special treatment." That being true, Dominique could hardly bar the entire House of Organa from participating in a 'fair and free' election held by a sovereign world. Perhaps Eadu counted on that; then so be it. Dominique wouldn't walk into a trap of being shown to be flagrantly violating the letter of the Charter.

On the other hand, were someone to try classifying them an 'oppressive' government as a monarchy that would require that someone be assigned the provisional role. Dominique hoped the Senator and Ambassador could appreciate the dangers in that circumstance.

"It does take time for democratic, representative systems to be put in place. Not every world agrees in the shape or scope of what their representatives or leaders should do. The Republic's diplomats tirelessly work to help all member worlds make that transition."

Senator Eharl Sarn's hum deepened warmly at the pride in Amani's voice, and his amber eye stalks inclined with quiet understanding.

"To be herself," he echoed gently. "...that is no small gift for one born to a crown."

"Titles can be like trellises, Your Majesty. They help us grow upright… but if bound too tightly, they shape us before we discover our own direction,"
he added with a quiet nod, before giving a soft knowing rumble of his throats.

At the mention of flustering the young ambassador, Sarn's great shoulders lifted ever so slightly in what might have been a chuckle.

"You are wise to save such stories. Our youth survives many trials… but not always a parent's fond memories in public."

Yet it was the sincere query from Her Majesty that had the Ithorian Senator musing.

Senator Eharl Sarn let his gaze wander slowly across the hall, amber eye stalks tilting as he observed the clusters of hushed debate, the too-bright laughter, the quiet watchers who preferred to measure before they moved. A warm and reflective hum rolled from both of his throats.

"The division I sense is not of the heart," he said gently, "but of the mind," he added as his long fingers folded together before him.

"Many admire your world and its diplomacy, its culture, and its long history of justice. That weighs in your favor."

The hum deepened as he mused.

"But some fear precedent while others fear the entanglement that comes in a conflict that grows closer by the cycle."

Those amber eyestalks pivoted from the Queen towards the Senator beside him.

"They ask themselves: is this a union chosen from shared strength… or a shield raised in haste against the Covenant's shadow?"

A faint warmth touched his tone as he returned his attention to Amani.

"Yet fear is not always a weakness, Your Majesty. It is a teacher.... but we must be careful not to let it choose for us."

The Ithorian's hum softened into something almost reassuring.

"If Alderaan continues to speak from what it is, rather than what it fears, I believe many hearts here will answer in kind."

While the other two continued their conversation, Rémiel’s attention briefly drifted across the embassy hall. His curiosity got the better of him, and he indulged in a bit of quiet people-watching. From what he could see, many of the notable figures from this corner of the galaxy had made an appearance, which, he supposed, was only to be expected at an event of this significance.

Turning his attention back to the conversation at hand, he offered his thoughts on the matter of Alderaan’s potential induction into the wider Republic.
“There is value in Alderaan becoming part of the Republic in many respects.”

He paused briefly, searching for the right words before continuing.
“Though the reasons people might support Alderaan’s induction likely vary from world to world. Some see it as an opportunity for stronger trade lines, while others could view it as a strategic roadblock against the Covenant.”

Amani found that Eharl's thoughts and feelings mirrored many of her own, "Sage words, Senator." She commended him with an inclination of her head. Rémiel offered his own assessment when he was prompted, "For all I care, they can view our induction however they want, as long as they vote 'yes' when the bill comes due." She smirked, but her attention was soon diverted as a group of media personnel seemed to finally catch on that the Queen of Alderaan was in attendance tonight.

"Guess that'll be the end of my free time tonight. Thanks again for coming, enjoy yourselves." Amani stepped back, offering the pair a farewell before she turned to distract that cameras and microphones being waved her way.
