Primary Source: N/A

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Manufacturer: Tricks of the Trade.
Affiliation: Closed-Market.
Model: TOTT-011 Fastball Special.
Modularity: No.
Production: Semi-Unique.
Material: Isotope-5, Phrik, Electronic Components

SPECIAL FEATURES

Isotope-5 Power cell
Xythan Force Shield Generator

Repulsorlift Generator

STRENGTHS

Speed Ball: The Fastball Special is ridiculously maneuverable thanks to the inbuilt repulsorlift, allowing it to navigate and move at the extremely high velocities the device’s name suggests. When the shield generator is active, the ball actually bounces upon impact.

Impact: Due to the high speed and weight of the device, the Fastball Special impacts with same amount of force as that of punch from a professional wookieeweight shockboxer.

Nigh indestructible: While the Xythan Force Shield is in operation, the Fastball Special absorbs and reflects any and all forms of energy it encounters. This makes it incredibly difficult to damage via conventional means. The phrik casing grants the device an additional level of hardiness.

WEAKNESSES

Unpredictable: Due to the deceptively finicky controls, the device’s own high speed and the bouncing effects of the shield generator, the Fastball Special is nearly impossible to control without sufficient training and requires a good deal of situational awareness in order to properly utilize.

Flawed by Design: As a purposeful safety measure, the Fastball Special has very minimal protection against EMP/Ion exposure. Even indirect applications are enough to put it temporarily out of commission.

Explosive?: In the even the device does become damaged, the Fastball Special has a small but rather concerning chance of exploding due the inclusion of an Isotope-5 power cell. This can be comparable to a low yield thermal detonator.

DESCRIPTION

Given the company’s previous track record, you can be forgiven for being surprised that the Fastball Special is exactly as advertised for once. It is very much a ball. It moves extremely fast. And what do you know, it is rather special in so far that it can absorb any energy it encounters and redirect it back at the source. Handy for distractions, mischief or…

Well, probably not advisable to play that father/son bonding game of catch with this one, but Tricks of the Trade isn’t about to tell you how to parent, citizen. Standard injury disclaimers apply.

The device itself is comparable in size to an phaseball and rather straightforward in design and execution. Primarily comprised of a Isotope-5 power cell, a shield generator and a omni-directional repulsor generator inside a phrik shell. It is controlled by a companion app, with the recommendation of installing and syncing the device with wrist links or similar technology.

As a precautionary measure, it is highly recommended to carry a device capable of emitting ion energy when operating the Fastball Special. Trust us. Should the control system become damaged or otherwise corrupted, you’ll be thankful. More than a few technicians were put out of commission by a runaway Fastball during the testing phase of the device.
