SETTING INFORMATION
Mine Name: The Eviscerant Yards
Material: Spice
Location: Sevarcos II
Affiliation: House Calis , Serina Calis
Size: Massive
Population: Heavily Staffed
Profit: High
Accessibility:
The Eviscerant Yards are buried deep in the crimson sand basins of Sevarcos II's southern hemisphere, a region devastated by violent thermal winds and unstable tectonics. While not hidden, their position amidst razor-rock canyons, ash-storm belts, and electromagnetic interference zones make unauthorized navigation exceptionally difficult.
Access is tightly controlled via shielded starport spires and VTOL dropships, with orbital approach monitored by a network of cloaked sensor buoys. Public access is strictly forbidden; the only visitors are vetted traders, House Calis personnel, or security contractors.
Description:
The Eviscerant Yards are a sprawling industrial mining complex stretching across several square kilometers of Sevarcos II's arid hellscape. Blackened refinery towers belch iridescent smoke into the ochre sky. Surface pit operations descend in layered spirals toward underground harvest tunnels, where droids and laborers extract volatile spice veins with surgical precision.
Harsh floodlights cut through the dust storms, revealing crawling convoys, buried refinery cores, and long queues of cargo haulers. Mercenary watchtowers overlook -barracks and blast-door bunkers alike. Every inch of the site radiates harsh control, wealth, and violent order.
POINTS OF INTEREST
1. The Spiral Cut
The largest and oldest of the surface pits, now automated. Deep enough to generate internal heat pockets and hazardous gas blooms. Still active, mostly operated by heavy digger-droids and overseer drones.
2. Crucible Ridge Refinery
Main spice refinement complex. Multi-stage processing lines turn raw spice into exportable forms (powder, crystalline sticks, gelcaps). Integrated chemical testing, slicing-resistant vaults, and rapid-loading conveyor silos.
3. Calis Central Overseer Tower
The highest structure on site—equal parts operations hub and fortress. Private landing pads, encrypted comms relays, a personal suite for Calis family members, and AI-coordinated labor schedules. Brutalist architecture, symbol of dominance.
4. Section B: "The Ditch"
Subterranean manual labor zone, used for punishing noncompliant workers. Survivability is low. Rumors persist of chemical exposure mutating the local spice strains.
5. Mercenary Forward Bastion "D-11"
Barracks, weapons lockers, speeder garages, and a fast-response deployment center for mercenary and House Calis troops. Contains the Cauterion Wall: a rapid-deploy flame deterrent system for riot suppression.
SECURITY
Security Rating: Maximum
Assets Include:
- Mercenary Guard Corps (Primarily mercenaries, ex-soldiers, and Outer Rim veterans)
- Autonomous Security Droids (Hunter-Killer units, patrol skiffs, air drones)
- Perimeter Defense Grid (Sensor mines, auto-turrets, shield barriers)
- Orbital Sensor Net (Disguised buoys tracking all approach vectors)
- Cauterion Wall Riot Control System
- Encrypted AI Overseer for internal sabotage/threat analysis
- Sealed Emergency Lockdown Protocols across all key structures
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Eviscerant Yards were seized during the Sith annexation of Sevarcos II in 900 ABY by a joint operation between Serina Calis, her blood-brother Dominic Calis, and her adoptive brother Reicher Vax. At the time, the mines were divided between several warlord factions resistant to Sith control. These factions were forcibly removed, their leadership purged or publicly executed, and their assets nationalized under House Calis's emerging banner.
The Eviscerant Yards never changed hands again.
In the years since, the mine has become the single largest source of wealth for House Calis, with trillions of credits' worth of spice exported through covert trade networks, smugglers, and controlled cartel proxies. The site is infamous in the Outer Rim underworld and feared by many for its brutal efficiency.
