War, Eternal...

Deep within the heartland of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, on the frigid world of Nelvaan, there is a nation of battle-hardened warriors, risen from the ashes of the Ancient Eye. Born from tragedy and built for war, this hermit nation stands ready to defend the Confederacy's borders and advance its own hidden agenda, by any means necessary.

Disciplined soldiers and skilled navigators of the void, the citizens of this nation uphold the ideals of meritocracy and order above all things. In a galaxy where survival of the fittest is the highest, most immovable law, this stratocratic nation understands that, sometimes, evil is necessary and, indeed, the only viable option for those who seek to survive.

Weakness has no place on Nelvaan. It is a new age, of gods and monsters and only those willing to commit themselves to a greater purpose, shall survive the coming storm and through their struggle, the nation is made strong. This is a state for those who understand that the time has come to put away such childish things as peace and mercy, and who will do whatever it takes to build a better galaxy, free of the burdens of complacency, corruption and of those who would leech off the government, without contributing anything in return.

The Eternal Empire is a stratocratic constitutional monarchy born out of the nomadic fleet formed of Dominion refugees and anyone else they picked up along the road, after the defeat at Krayiss II. It is organized and run as a democratic stratocracy, led by a monarch who appoints an executive, which is then approved by a legislative body made up of elected representatives from every administrative sector that is governed by them.

Although technically a constitutionally democratic monarchy, the Eternal Empire maintains a system of tiered citizenship which draws a very clear line between citizens and civilians. Very militaristic and centered around the ideals of meritocracy and discipline, only those who have completed their first two years of military service have the right to vote. Mistrustful of outsiders due to a long history of hostility, what eventually became the Eternal Empire has, at one point or another, found itself the target of military operations from a great number of galactic powers, from the now defunct Galactic Empire, to the Silver Jedi Order, Outer Rim Coalition and New Republic, becoming embittered as a result.

The Eternal Empire does not discriminate based on species, although there is a strong and successful pressure for the natives of Nelvaan to integrate into the nation's culture and militaristic lifestyle, the state occasionally instituting crackdowns against those who openly embrace more Jedi-like pacifistic ideals.

The Wardens of the Shroud

The Wardens of the Shroud are a secret organization of influential Force Sensitive individuals within the Eternal Empire and Confederacy of Independent Systems. Far from being just another branch of the government, or military, the secretive Wardens perform a mixture of functions and exist as an informal gathering of people who periodically gather to plot ways to advance their own hidden agenda, both within the Confederacy and into the Galaxy at large.

Heavily involved in numerous operations meant to expand their influence over the Galaxy, as well as infiltrating the ranks of the Confederacy's various institutions, the primary goal of the Wardens is to ultimately shackle the Force and bring it under their total control.

The Eternal Navy

The military of the Eternal Empire is made up of volunteers and divided into two branches (Army and Navy), although focus falls primarily on its naval branch. It is accountable to the Assembly and falls under the leadership of the Lord of War. Within the military, there also exist a number of special divisions made up of elite, or specialized forces, which are better equipped than the rank-and-file.

The navy of the Eternal Empire consists of the Confederacy's Sword Armada and associated battlegroups, commanding of a respectable number of capital ships and support vessels. It is highly disciplined and battle hardened, with constant drills maintaining its edge in those brief periods when the Empire is at peace.

The Ultranaut Corps

Formed shortly after the exodus from Ession in the aftermath of the disastrous Krayiss II campaign, which gave birth to what would become the Eternal Empire, the Ultranaut Corps serve as the nation's frontline heavy infantry. Well equipped and trained, they are some of the most disciplined troops in the galaxy and their combat effectiveness rivals that of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps of whom they are an analogue.

The Ultranauts are one of the branches of the Eternal Empire's military, and are trained for fighting in various environments, making them vital to the nation's military success. Undergoing harsh and extremely difficult training, candidates need a strong mind and resolve.

Blackwatch Secret Police

The gradual morphing of the Eternal Empire into a militaristic state, brought with it the passing of laws such as the Counter-Insurgency Resolution, which allows the government to institute crackdowns against problematic individuals. Blackwatch is essentially the iron fist of the regime, given the mandate to maintain order and suppress foreign plots.

Nowadays, Blackwatch is known for its use of special police units that are little more than government death squads, a brutal tool of repression which the Eternal Throne makes liberal use of in order to suppress infiltrators, criminals and Jedi agents. Externally, they fulfill the role of intelligence agents.

Psi Corps

Easily recognized by the uniform trench coats that they wear over their Sk-UL armor, emblazoned with the all-seeing-eye emblem of their unit, Psi Corps operatives are a special branch of Blackwatch, the Eternal Empire's espionage and secret police organization.

Chosen from a pool of Force-sensitive individuals who show an aptitude for mental abilities, but who's other talents are too weak for admission into the Wardens of the Shroud, the Psi Corps are a special interrogation and communications unit that are embedded amongst the various regular branches of the military, intelligence and occasionally, law enforcement as well.

Government & Society

Highly militaristic, the Eternal Empire employs a stratocratic system of tiered citizenship which draws clear lines between military and non-military members of society. Soldiers and veterans hold numerous privileges over civilians and there is a strong social pressure to enlist in the military. Pacifism is deeply frowned upon and each citizen is expected to serve the state and perform his or her duty towards the nation.

There are three tiers of citizenship: Nobles - elevated from amongst citizens who have performed extraordinary acts of service to the nation; Citizens - those who have completed two years of military service and have thus gained additional rights and privileges (such voting) and Civilians - those who have not yet served in the military and have restricted rights.

- Introduction:

The Eternal Empire is a subfaction of the Confederacy which focuses on worldbuilding, lore and the crafting of darker, military and intrigue-themed stories, with a heavy emphasis on creating long-term overarching narratives. We have an active member base and participate in CIS faction threads, dominions and invasions, as well as our own storylines and campaigns.

We draw inspiration from a number of sources, most predominant being Starship Troopers, SWTOR and the Killzone series of games, however we also place great importance on consequences resulting from in-character events, which reshape the faction and are a huge part of what has shaped us into what we are today.

- Military Sci-Fi:

As a faction, the Eternal Empire focuses heavily on military science-fiction roleplay, along with the associated worldbuilding and politics. We aim to create a detailed military doctrine, along with the associated equipment, vehicles and military units, to provide our members ample lore to draw upon and numerous opportunities for writing enjoyable and interesting stories.

Both our army and navy utilize a combined arms approach to warfare which emphasizes the deployment of highly specialized units working together towards a common goal. Relying upon coordination and overwhelming firepower to achieve our objectives, we aim to create situations where multiple characters work together in order to fulfill a common goal.

Our tactics are heavily inspired by historical military strategy, particularly from the two World Wars and we utilize such things as trench warfare, massed artillery barrages and bayonet charges in order to, hopefully, create something a bit different from the way warfare is typically portrayed on the board.
