GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Emrick Dynasty
  • Classification: Family/Clan
  • Affiliation: Brotherhood of Darkness, Sith Order, Themselves
  • Organization Symbol:

  • Description: The Emrick Dynasty is a Dark Side family originating from the Deep Core of the galaxy, and in modern times the Outer Rim. Based around the vessel Titan of Myrios, the Emrick Dynasty is based around the Sith teachings of ancient times, discovered during their exodus from the galactic core during the fall of the first Galactic Empire. Since then, they have developed into their own fledgling Sith organization deep in the Outer Rim, finally coming into contact with the wider galaxy.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Titan of Myrios-WIP
  • Domain:
    • The Emrick Dynasty lives on the (gotta find the name of those things) ship, built during the ancient times of the Galactic Empire by Darth Sidious for his favored servants in the Empire. They rule over the population of this ship, the descendants of the original servants and bodyguard, as well as new slave stock taken on by the dynast over the course of their exodus. They rule this domain with an iron fist, and dissent against the Emrick Dynasty is met with unwavering destruction.
    • Myrios is the planet which the Titan of Myrios orbits. With their military might and Dark Side abilities, the Emrick Dynasty has subjugated the planet to their will for several centuries. Outnumbered by the local populace, the Emrick Dynasty rules the world from their ship in orbit, using precise and overwhelming force against any dissent on the planet. They draw new slaves and servants from this planet, as well as inducting any Force Users found into the Dynasty through marriage to ensure diversity in the bloodline. A large portion of the supplies used to sustain the Emrick Dynasty comes from Myrios.
  • Notable Assets:
    • Titan of Myrios: The Titan of Myrios is the home and capital of the Emrick Dynasty. From this vessel they administer their fledgling dominion, and oversee the continuation of the Sith to their knowledge. No longer capable of space travel, the Titan of Myrios acts as a satellite over Myrios, only accessible by transports carefully maintained.
    • Black Citadel: Located on the surface of Myrios itself is the Black Citadel, the Emrick Dynasties home on Myrios when they are willing to risk a prolonged stay on the surface of the world. Located several kilometers from the capital city of the planet, the Black Citadel is built into a mountain range, with a single, winding kilometers long path up to it. Only members and servants of the Emrick Dynasty are able to use the landing pad located at the Black Citadel for an expedited arrival, and all others must use the Path of Contempt to get to the palace.
    • Forge of Emrick:The Forge of Emrick is a sacred location to the Emrick Dynasty, located deep beneath Black Citadel in a cavern excavated for purposes long since forgotten. Situated on a dias in the center of the cavern, and surrounded by the statues of former Grand Lords of the Emrick Dynasty, the Forge of Emrick is where all new members of the Dynasty, both those born into it and married into it, come to make their lightsabers. Using synthetic crystals carefully cultivated by a family of servants born and raised for this singular purpose, the Forge of Emrick is where all Emrick Sith go to begin their path down the Dark Side.
    • Valley of the Ancestors: The Valley of the Ancestors is a series of structures located in a mountain valley near the southern hemisphere of Myrios. Here, the Emrick Dynasty are laid to rest when they either die of old age, or more often, when they are killed by their family members in their eternal political struggles. Each tomb is half a kilometer in height, and has the face of the Emrick Dynasty member carved into it, with the entrance located at the base of the statue. Since their arrival to Myrios, the Emrick Dynasty has built hundreds of these tombs in the Valley of Ancestors, creating a labyrinth of tombs that is nearly impossible to navigate from the ground.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
    • The Emrick Dynasty is led by the Grand Lord of the Sith, the self proclaimed most powerful member of the Emrick Dynasty. Both male and female Sith may lay claim to this mantle of rulership, and it must be won in a Kaggath, the ancient Rite of Combat rarely practiced by the Sith of ancient times, but brought back in more recent decades. The Grand Lord acts as the supreme head of state for the Emrick Dynasty and their pitiful kingdom, and their will is enacted through the Council of High Lords.
    • The Council of High Lords is made up of various Sith from the Emrick Dynasty of significant power and influence, the High Lords oversee the daily affairs of the Emrick Dynasty on the Titan of Myrios as well as Myrios. They are the will of the Grand Lord, and his actions are carried out by these various High Lords, though often in ways to conflict with the overall goal of the Grand Lord, or to simply annoy the leader of the Dynasty.
    • Beneath the High Lords are the various Sith Knights and Acolytes that make up the majority of the Emrick Dynasty. These family members are the main body of the Dynasty, and serve as the physical manifestation of the Dynasties' might and power. These warriors seek to rise through the ranks and take their place on the Council of High Lords someday, and most often serve one of these High Lords in the meantime.
    • Far below the Emrick Dynasty itself are the various slave families that live aboard the Titan of Myrios and in the Black Citadel. Originally the servants gifted by Sheev Palpatine when the ship was first built, these servants have since intermingled with the population of Myrios. These various lineages of slaves serve the Emrick Dynasty faithfully, and many on Myrios wish to join this caste of servants to rise out of the poverty they live in, even if it means to become a slave to their Sith overlords.
    • At the bottom of the Emrick Dynasties structure are the natives of Myrios, seen as little more than a chattel workforce to the Sith. They live in abject squalor, as any resource of worth is confiscated by the Emrick Dynasty for their own use. This rung of society is kept docile through regular and overwhelmingly destructive raids by the Emrick Dynasty against any groups of resistance. Bloody examples are made of these dissidents, and only the promise of salvation through service to the Emrick Dynasty sees many of them go on with their lives.
  • Membership: There are roughly fifty members of the Emrick Dynasty alive in current times, the smallest the family has been in centuries. To join the Emrick Dynasty itself, one must either be born into it, or be chosen from the natives of Myrios to marry a member of the Dynasty if the native is found to be strong in the Force. This combination of methods ensures a steady stream of new blood and genetics filter into the Dynasty.
  • Climate: The Emrick Dynasty is rife with political intrigue and bloody backroom politics. The outright murder of family members is frowned upon, unless done so through a Kaggath, but covert assassinations are far more common. Emrick Dynasty members are constantly maneuvering to secure the loyalty of others both inside and outside the Dynasty, and build a powerbase to rise through the ranks. The ultimate goal for all current members of the Emrick Dynasty is to one day grow strong enough to challenge the Grand Lord for the Throne of Darkness, and take their place as the ruling lord or lady of the family and Myrios.
  • Reputation: The Emrick Dynasty is both despised and loved by its subjects on the Titan of Myrios and Myrios. The families of slaves in direct service to the Emrick Dynasty see them as harsh, but benevolent masters. They are powerful beings that provide them with housing, food and safety far above what the natives of Myrios receive, and almost worship the Dynasty for this. The natives of Myrios largely despise the Emrick Dynasty for their tyrannical rule of their world, but are mostly docile from countless purges and raids launched against them to keep the world in line.
  • Curios: All members of the Emrick Dynasty have the family crest tattooed somewhere on their body. This tattoo is bestowed upon the family member using a precision tool on the day they create their first lightsaber in the Forge of Emrick.
  • Rules: The Emrick Dynasty follows the Sith Code as the backbone of their society, and this code is used to shape their way of life and how they govern their domain. As well, the outright murder of fellow Dynasty members is frowned upon, and may earn the murderer a death penalty depending on who they killed. The Kaggath is used to settle all matters of high importance within the Emrick Dynasty, as well as to ensure the strongest Sith are able to move up.
  • Goals: The Emrick Dynasty seeks to extend their influence beyond Myrios, and begin the process of recruiting new Sith to their cause. In time, the Dynasty wishes to establish a new Sith organization with the Emrick’s at its head, and begin to challenge the might of the rest of the Sith across the galaxy, as well as their ancient enemies in the Jedi.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Emrick Dynasty was founded by Loren and Vaton Emrick, two members of the Imperial aristocracy within the Galactic Empire of Sheev Palpatine. Close confidants of the Emperor, the Emrick's were privy to many of the Sith Lords secrets and goals. Held in favor by the Emperor, they were gifted one of planet ships he built for his favorites in the Empire, a self sufficient vessel named the Titan. To further their ties to the Emperor, the Emrick's were both force sensitive, though not to any degree worth the Emperor's attention, or concern.

When the Galactic Empire fell, the Emrick's took their vessel and fled from the Core, intent to escape the encroaching New Republic forces. The Titan was not equipped for such a long distance trek, but pushing he vessel to its very limits the Emrick's were able to get through most of the Mid Rim before the hyperdrive on the Titan finally gave out. Marooned in deep space, the Emrick's set course for the Outer Rim at sublight speeds.

During their slow journey, Loren and Vaton began to study ancient texts they had acquired before their flight from the fragmenting Empire, discovering more information on the ancient tenants of the Sith, and learning the full truth of what Palpatine had been. While neither Emrick was strong enough in the force to truly call themselves Sith, they began to adopt the teachings of these ancient works, and when their children were born, they passed the teachings to them.

In this way, the legacy of the Sith was propagated within the Titan for several generations. During their journey, the Titan came across several planets, trading with them to acquire the resources and supplies that they needed. The grand children of Loren and Vaton were able to repair the vessels hyperdrive, and the Emrick Dynasty began to journey more widely across the Outer Rim. These travels unearthed many Sith teachings and works, each one poured over with reverence by the current generation of Emrick's. With the new knowledge, and continued genetic development, the Emrick's began to grow stronger in the Dark Side of the Force, eventually earning the right to call themselves true Sith, though they had done so for decades already.

Eventually, nearly two centuries after their isolated journey had begun, the Emrick Dynasty came across the world of Myrios. Isolated, and barely at a feudal stage of development, the Emrick Sith saw a chance to create for themselves a Sith dominion, and emulate the ancient Sith they had read so much about. Armed with blasters and antique lightsabers found in Sith ruins, most barely functioning, the Emrick Dynasty and their servants landed in the capital city of Myrios, Illion, and took it by force. Outnumbered many thousands times over, the Emrick Dynasty forces used their superior technology and limited grasp of the force to rapidly overwhelm the technologically inferior resistance. It took them three years and countless dead, but in the end Myrios was subjugated to the Emrick Dynasty Sith. To show their new control of the planet, the Titan was renamed to the Titan of Myrios, and from the sphere ship the Emrick Dynasty began their rule.

It was not long before the Emrick's began to mingle with the Myriosian people. Though they were still seen as their inferiors, those Force Sensitive within the Myriosian population of sufficient strength were taken from their families at a young age, indoctrinated by the Emrick's, and eventually married into the family. This new influx of blood increased the number of Emrick's, and further developed the individual strength of the members of the Dynasty.

The Emrick's ruled Myrios for several centuries in tyrannical isolation. The world was developed, though only to provide the Emrick Dynasty more resources manpower. Following the principle developed by the Dynasty during this time, known as the Rule of Blood, each generation of Emrick Sith showed new strength, building upon those that came before, often upon the very bodies of those killed so others could advance. This legacy would eventually culminate in the rule of the Grand Lord Darth Bertal.

The strongest Emrick to live, Darth Bertal decided that the time had finally come for the Emrick Dynasty to spread across the stars like the ancient Sith of old. Taking a ramshackle fleet of ships procured over the generations, Bertal led the Emrick Dynasty and the armies of Myrios on a glorious campaign of Dark Side conquest.

He lost.

In the first battle of the crusade, a squadron of vessels belonging to an unknown organization turned back the Emrick Sith armada. Thousands were killed, and the Titan of Myrios was crippled during its escape. Only by sheer luck was the Emrick Dynasty able to survive. From five hundred members at the start of the campaign, only three hundred remained. Among the many wounded was Darth Malcharion. His life saved only by technological implants put into his body, the new Sith Cyborg decided that Darth Bertal had failed the Dynasty.

Darth Malcharion challenged his cousin to a Kaggath for the Throne of Souls, but he refused. A civil war erupted between the followers of Malcharion and those of Bertal, the halls of the Black Citadel ringing with the class of lightsabers for two days before the fighting came to an end. Of the three hundred survivors, barely fifty remained. In the ashes of Emrick Dynasty, Malcharion declared himself the new Grand Lord, and set about making plans for the future of the Dynasty.
