The Ember of Vahl

To some, the Ember of Vahl is just a cult. But to the likes of Maja it is a religion and her birthright - given she's Vahla. And it was her late sister's wish she fulfil that birthright.

You don't have to be a Vahla to be a member and you don't even have to be Force-sensitive.

So the plan is to have a sect of the cult within the Sisterhood. So if you're interested, please post below. I'll work on this over the next few weeks with as many are as interested and the only given at the moment is that it will be canon i.e. led by a group of six priests with no high priestess.

Hmm. The Ember of Vahl is lead by me.

Are you looking to start a smaller sect that is a part of the main Vahla migrant Fleet, or are you are going to start a completely different appostate sect to counter mine?

Either is good story and I'm easy.

Apologies if the response is terse but about to sample the Parisian nightlife.

OOC

I saw this as an Enber of Vahl as opposed to the Ember of Vahl. It's a religion and no doubt has many sects. So not a sub-sect or opposing the OS Ember. But happy to talk how they could interact.

IC

Being Vahla has been central to Maja's story since her second thread and discovered she was Silara's sister. So it has appeared in many of Maja's threads as a central part of her story and development.

But a year on and she still hasn't gained entry, so it made sense to kill two birds with one stone. Allow Sisters that weren't One Sith to join the Ember and to progress the key development story of Maja that remains untold - and I so desperately want to explore.

Much like Christianity or Islam are not monoliths united under one banner.

Come to think of it, maybe those cultists Sumiko and Maja encountered on Iktotch could be converted to the faith and be minions. After all, our heroines killed the creepy Preacher and gained the favour of the 'Great Huntress'. :D

Doesn't quite work that way.

Many Vahla belonged to a dark side cult called the Ember of Vahl, and all Vahla were expected to heed the dictates of the cult's central coven.

The Ember Of Vahl is run by the Six Chosen, and their word is expected law with all Vahla. Those Six Priests answer to Isolda through all of the roleplay i have established on chaos.

That is why i was asking to clarify if you are going to be working under The Ember of Vahl (like use one of the six priests if you like that i've been Npcing and create a coven), or if you are going to be doing an apostate cult and doing your own thing.

If you are doing an apostate cult, and are not going to be subject to the absolute rule of "word is law" by the Ember of Vahl, then that creates tension for you are going against what is established and expected for all Vahla-- even more with the Chosen of Vahl being the Eye of the Dark Lord of the One sith. It is something she would take akin to blasphemy.

Either story is good either way. I'm easy.

But The Ember of Vahl doesn't work in terms of different sects. Different covens still under the rule of the central one? Yes.

OK...an about turn.

I was about to post that the idea has to be scrapped as I had no desire to have an antagonistic relationship with any other sects of the Cult, nor be subservient to it.

And I was mistaken in my belief that the OS Ember was inactive - I have been assured it is definitely active.

But given that Maja's been blocked from being admitted into the Ember despite its activity (and why she's been refused I have no idea and haven't been told), I have run out of ideas as to how to continue what is a central aspect to her story. She promised her now dead sister on her wedding day she'd fulfil this aspect of her destiny.

So...we're going ahead. From my/the Sisterhood's perspective, this is not subservient to the One Sith's sect and will NOT be antagonistic towards them. But I can only control this side of the equation. The other side has promised consequences.

I know a couple of others have shown interest, so when I'm back off my LOA, I'll get into gear.

Oh, and Paris is lovely and tomorrow I'm off to Madrid :)

So...the current planet Development thread is my in to this story IC.

Maja will discover a crypt in the Temple and in it a small shrine to Vahl. Cue her thinking this is clearly fate and once done, we can have a thread for those interested to meet there and discuss the creation of AN Ember.

:)
