OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Dyomene
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Zaathru
  • Average Lifespan: Unknown
  • Estimated Population: Semi-Unique
  • Description: Winged, fanged humanoids frequently born without eyes, the Dyomene are a Sithspawn species created using DNA obtained from a Sangnir (originally a Miraluka) and a S'kytri.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 5'11" (1.8 meters)
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: All are generally pale white, though some exhibit purple or olive/greenish skin tones.
  • Hair color: Dark
  • Distinctions: While there are both male and female Dyomene, females are more common than males.
  • Races: Likewise, there are both Dyomene with eyes and Dyomene without, but the eyeless ones far outnumber those with eyes. Those who can see are extremely rare and are seen as specially blessed by the goddess.
  • Force Sensitivity: All
Strengths:
  • Wings: All Dyomene possess wings and are capable of flight.
  • Vampiric: The Dyomene are ferocious and bloodthirsty creatures, both literally and metaphorically. They feed on the blood of living creatures, and can use the blood they have consumed to augment their strength.
Weaknesses:
  • Eyeless: Lacking eyes due to their Miralukan heritage, Dyomene rely on the Force to perceive their surroundings. If cut off from the Force, they would be utterly blind. (There are some Dyomene who are born with functioning eyes do not have this problem, but they are exceptionally rare.)
  • Prone to Starvation: Without access to a steady supply of blood, Dyomene will become feral and eventually starve to death.
  • Sterile: Dyomene cannot naturally reproduce either with themselves or members of other species.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Hemovore/Carnivore
  • Communication: Galactic Basic, Shaalite, Zaathri
  • Technology level: Primitive; roughly on par with the Iron Age.
  • Religion/Beliefs: Devoted to the sky goddess Adamanthea, the Dyomene consider the skies their home. They live high in the mountains, only venturing down to earth to hunt or at the command of their goddess. Adamanthea regularly requests their aid in battle; they participated in the Slaver Crusades (also known as the Conquest of Ámathosia) and now monitor the land's borders to ensure no invaders are able to pass unnoticed.
  • General behavior: The Dyomene are mostly solitary creatures, preferring to dwell alone at their isolated outposts. They use the Force to monitor the borders of the goddess' domain and hunt for prey. Followers of Adamanthea and the other gods of the Pantheon are forbidden to be eaten (unless they commit crimes against the gods), but all creatures sentient or non-sentient are fair game; they do not discriminate. When they are found in groups, they typically follow a militaristic hierarchy, working together to strategize and defeat opponents.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Two very different people crash-landed on Zaathru. One was a female Sangnir, formerly a Miraluka. The other was a male S'kytri. Both were captured by natives loyal to Adamanthea, the Sky Goddess, and brought to Desdyrva, the Holy City. The goddess questioned them both. The Sangnir refused to answer the most basic of questions, even when she was offered shelter from the sun and fresh blood to drink. Her name was never known. The S'kytri, on the other hand, was impressed with Adamanthea. He gave his name as Thulsa, and pledged himself to her service.

While Adamanthea would ultimately kill the Sangnir, she was also fascinated by her vampiric nature. She preserved her DNA for future use. Crossing it with that of Thulsa and combining it with the dark arts of Sith alchemy, she created a new life form: the Dyomene, a race of Sithspawn who live to serve the Sky Goddess.

A nice Sithspawn! I like the history of how they came to be.

I also want to quickly note that "No Character or Species may be Immortal - Either explicitly or implicitly stated." They can live long lives, but at some point in the unforseeable future, their days will be numbered. :)
