Name: Dreadguard

Designation: Sentient

Homeworld: Generation 1-Kamino, 2/3 are varied to whatever world they were born on before becoming Dreadguard.

Language: Galactic Basic is the standard.

Average height of adults: 6'2-6'5 for males, 5'9-6'3 for females.

Skin color: Whatever complexion their initial race might have had.

Hair color: Varies on base species.

Breathes: Oxygen. Non-oxygen breathing species will suffocate after augmentation.

Strengths:

Force Dead: In the same manner as the Vong, the Dreadguard are force dead creatures. It happens to be their whole gimmick. This is done by using the Vong Shapers within the society of the Architects in tandem with modern technology.

Scientists must select subjects who are not force sensitive. Then, they use the Vong biotechnology to effectively turn 'off' the gene that allows midichlorians to effect their host. (This can be compared with the way modern day scientists can selectively activate or turn off genes in certain creature, IE curing a monkey's colorblindness by introducing the human gene that allows a full spectrum of color view in the retina.)

Carbide Ceramic Ossification: Advanced grafting of bones to make them much more durable. If the body rejects the procedure, the subject's bones will become brittle and easily broken.

Muscular Enhancement Lining: Applies growth hormone to the muscular system to accommodate the increased weight of skeletal structure. If rejected, the procedure will produce seizures and the subject will be crippled from the neck down, or killed from the extreme pain as the the subject's muscles are broken down.

Corneal Implants: Boosted perception. Equivalent to a cybernetic eye's sight capabilities. Bodily rejection can result in blindness.

Artificial Platelet injections: enchanted the body's ability to slow bleeding and clot wounds.

Summary: Enchanced muscle mass to allow the Dreadguard to move agile in heavy armor. Neccesary to combat force users. Bones have been hardened to reduce breakage. Vision is supplemented with implants to allow for better eyesight. Platelet injections reduce heavy bleeding.

Weaknesses:

High mortality rate: Vong Shaping alone can easily kill an adult being. The standard augmentations given to subjects can prove highly fatal even after surviving the shaping.

Extremely high metabolism: The Dreadguard consume twice as many calories as the average human per day. As such, they must eat high protein diets supplemented with ration cubes to function.

No blood transfusions: Dreadguard blood will reject the blood of most normal beings. Mistaken transfusions can stop the heart and result in near instant death.

Vitamin Supplements: Dreadguard spend the majority of their time in full armor. Their bodies do not receive the required Vitamin D naturally, and must be supplemented with cold hard drugs from behind the canteen. Also regular vitamins.

Sterile: Dreadguard have a 50/50 percent chance to be rendered completely sterile after augmentations.

Imbalance: Dreadguard spend the majority of their time in armor, as stated earlier, and when relieved of the excessive weight have trouble moving normally.

Weak Immune Systems: They spend the majority of their time in a private climate controlled environment (their armor) and are highly susceptible to disease.

Low sensitivity in extremities: Dreadguard have difficulty feeling sensations in their fingers, toes, etc. They will have difficulty dealing with smaller intricate objects, such as defusing a bomb, without some form of assistance

Extremely susceptible to falling Star Destroyers: We can't grab those with our brains. It sucks.

Stunned by bright lights: Bright lights can cause seizures and stun a Dreadguard far longer than normal sentients.

Wracking Pain: In response to the Vong shaping, Dreadguard can be struck with intense pain at random intervals.

Distinctions: All have dark blue eyes due to augmentation, and are physically larger than their base race.

Average Lifespan: Anywhere between 50 to a 100 years of age. Possibly shortened with rejection overtime to 60.

Races: The Dreadguard Mark I's, II's, and III generation.

Estimated Population: Around 4000 living of the first Generation, 14 survivors of the second, 320 planned third generation.

Diet: Standard foods supplemented with high protein ration cubes.

Communication: Verbal communication supplemented with hand signals.

Culture: Militarized, otherwise akin to their base species on an individual basis.

Technology level: Galactic Standard

General behavior: All Dreadguard and highly disciplined soldiers. They've been trained to be the very best they can be. As such, many Dreadguard will stubbornly stick to any task presented to them. Many have a certain arrogance after receiving augmentation and being disconnected from the force, seeing themselves as better than their average counterparts. They understand a military lifestyle, and often have difficulty or a complete disconnection with the civilian population.

Due to their background, some Dreadguard exhibit mildly sociopathic tendencies, and are often easily goaded into fights of any kind.

History: Many years ago, the first generation of Dreadguard was created to stomp out the last holdouts of the Sith Empire. Ten thousand cloned men and women were selectively bred, augmented, and stripped of their force sensitivity by the Architects and their Kaminoan benefactors. These soldiers became the fist of the Confederacy, and at their height, were the most effective military in the galaxy.

United in brotherhood and battle, the Dreadguard swept across the southern half of the galaxy, slaughtering Sith Warlords and annihilating their holdings in the name of freedom for all people of the galaxy.

They brought peace to the southern systems and served alongside both the Republic and the Confederacy against Sith intrusions.

The first generation has since been disbanded, their debt to the galaxy paid in full. In their place rose the Dreadguard MK-II's, soldiers from every galactic power united in their struggle to repel the Kra'ktharok, a sect of sentient Sithspawn that threatened to destroy entire worlds.

Together with the ASA's former leader, they crushed the Kra'ktharok warlords, but not without great cost. The Mark-II's suffered casualties that rendered them incapable of continuing as a military force.

Since then, the last few survivors have fought alongside the Republic on Kashhyyk and Prakith, helped the Ession forces secure their world as a Republic ally on the outer rim, and offered the last few of their men as guardsmen for the Senate Chief.

Now, the time has come for the next generation to take up the sword. Two attempts at Vong Shaping over fifteen thousand subjects has helped the Archiects to perfect the art, and humanoids of all races are now eligible.

Intent: To create a sub for the Dreadguard as a separate species to help clear up issues in PVP, and define them for new Dreadguard RPers.

Their history and culture will need to be expanded upon. If they have been around for this long and been in that many threads they do have a history.

In your dev threads please indicate which ones are developing each new generation of dreadguard. Please

Their general behavior will need some more expansion as well.

I would like to see more on what makes them different then spartans. They share the same augments they went through with the same risks. Being force dead something unique to a species whose shaped beasts at least some could be sensed.

Posted those threads to show the history. Edited to give a brief synopsis.

Behavior was updated.

Threads given show the development of Dreadguard as characters overtime. They were 'made' in skype roleplays. To supplement this, a Dev thread for the Mark-III's was created and linked in the sub.

As for the spartan issue, yes, that is where we've drawn inspiration for the recent generation. However, there are many differences. First, the Dreadguard have many more weaknesses than Spartans, as well as extensive medical issues unrelated to their muse. Their strengths are dissimilar. Dreadguard are not as resistant to damage as Spartans, and lack half the augmentations Spartans do.

Furthermore, the Dreadguard are consenting adults united as brothers and sister of war. They serve themselves, and loan their services to governments that need them. They are not single minded soldiers. They're regular people who have forced themselves to be rebuilt to counter the excessive use of Sith powers and the almost unbeatable forces of Vong and Sithspawn present in the galaxy.

I do not understand your last sentence.

After some discussion there are a few more edits that will be needed.

First and foremost the weaknesses are not enough. Yes there are more then what inspired them but they are ignorable weaknesses. Ones that will not adversily alter a character. I would like to see some more substantial weaknesses in for this. I would also

like to see more on the vong interaction. Why are the vong still doing this? They are allied with the sith, their creatures and society has flourished under the sith. Why would they aid in the creation of somethign to fight against their own interests?

Please go more into depth for the force dead, as vong creations within this galaxy at least some of them could be sensed and these are just soldiers who have been minorly shaped. I would say if they had been fully shaped their implants would have been a dangerous while with the vong creatures.

I've added a sensitivity to bright lights that can bring about seizures, but the rest of their weaknesses are crucial story points. Anymore would start to affect them physically to the point that there would be no point in making them.

The Vong are a race of beings. They have worked with numerous other factions on the past, and far longer than the OS have been a thing. That's like saying that since a large group of humans are in the One Sith, then all humans are in the One Sith.

Those Dreadguard that can still be sensed with the force are failures and do not become Dreadguard. They would not employ 'half' done creations, only the very best. Otherwise the number would be far higher than 300.

The vong are a species that work with others but that doesn't explain why they would engineer and create something to fight themselves. Why they would shape soldiers with the sole intent of fighting and killing their own things. Attacking their allies and aiding the enemy. In light of a vong civil war this will need to be expanded upon or removed from the submission.

Eyesight can be corrected and is not substantial enough a weaknesses. They will require more weaknesses that are detrimental instead of something that can be corrected or avoided. Armor visors can be customized to be corrective and protect them, they only need to show in threads where it is needed to avoid being out of armor.

Other than giving them an instant-kill weakness that every other PC will capitalize on, I've added random 'pain' attacks due to the Vomg shaping. Anymore weaknesses and the DG will be paraplegics. They can already barely function without their armor as it.

As stated before, Vong are not mindless. They are sentient. Vong have built Dreadguard to kill other Vong since the Horde was a thing. Vong have killed other Vong in canon for the lulz. The One Sith do not have a monopoly over the species. They're involved in many other factions for personal gain. They aren't a species nation. They're different groups aligns with different political powers - like humans, Graug, Twi'leks, and every other species under the sun.

If I absolutely have to, I will make more weaknesses, but keep in mind these are just regular people with slight bodily upgrades so that they won't be swept aside by FUs. They aren't Sithspawn. They aren't super soldiers. They're and equalizer.

No, that’s not how this works I’m afraid. I have total trust in my team of Codex Judges to provide fair judgements no matter which characters they play. And who’s to say another judge would be better or worse, how do we judge such a thing?

You may ask for the submission to be archived and then Second Chance it, in which case another judge will take it on. However, that is your second and final chance.
