Accessibility:
Situated on a plot of land several miles away from the Capital City Meridian, the Dashiell Estate is surrounded by green open fields and forest-laden mountains. Travel to and from the Residence can be achieved via ground or air transport. The location has been listed in the public archives of Meridian for logistical purposes and to facilitate contact with Balun Dashiell, given his leadership position, so that others can find and reach him if required.
Description:
The Dashiell Estate is situated on the continent of Ilyndraal, positioned several miles beyond the outskirts of the Capital City, Meridian. The land surrounding the Estate is composed of open green fields, slow-rising hills, and dense stretches of forest that lead toward distant mountain ranges. The area is quiet and largely untouched, offering a sense of privacy and natural seclusion while still remaining within practical travel distance of the city's administrative center.
The terrain is fertile and rich with life, wildflowers along the meadows, birdsong across the tree line, and clear streams that feed into nearby farmland. Despite the Estate's refined construction and advanced technology, the natural landscape remains the defining feature of the region. Open skies, fresh air, and the constant chorus of local wildlife establish the Estate as a place where one can step away from the demands of leadership and industry, and simply live.
It is a home set deliberately between civilisation and wilderness: close enough to serve, far enough to breathe.
POINTS OF INTEREST:
Basement/Underground:
- Private Hangar Bay: Hidden beneath the estate grounds lies a vast subterranean hangar, a feat of quiet engineering buried deep below the soil. When in use, the surface above parts seamlessly divides into grass and stone, retracting along concealed seams to reveal the reinforced expanse of the landing bay beneath. The massive roof recedes with a low mechanical hum, allowing vessels to descend or ascend in complete discretion before the earth closes once more, erasing all trace of movement from above.
- Emergency Shelter: Constructed with the singular purpose of safeguarding Balun's loved ones from the unpredictable turmoil of the wider galaxy, the bunker lies adjacent to the subterranean hangar, its reinforced corridors leading to a network of sealed chambers. Designed for endurance rather than comfort, the shelter contains enough space and resources to sustain multiple occupants for weeks, ensuring survival even in the event of siege or planetary crisis.
- The Workshop: Functioning much like a compact industrial warehouse, the workshop houses a state-of-the-art Molecular Furnace and an array of precision tools. Here, Balun continues his craft, designing new technologies, refining prototypes, and breathing new life into salvaged starship components. The space hums with quiet energy, a fusion of creativity and engineering discipline that reflects both his corporate expertise and hands-on ingenuity.
- Meditation Chamber: A sanctuary of stillness, the Meditation Chamber serves as a refuge from the weight of leadership, duty, and personal strain. Modelled loosely after the serene halls of ancient Jedi Enclaves, its design favours simplicity, smooth stone, gentle light, and the quiet hum of energy resonating through the air. Here, Balun retreats to find balance, centring himself and reconnecting with the subtle current of the Force that flows through all living things.
- Training Dojo: A chamber dedicated to discipline and focus, the Dojo is both a space of physical exertion and spiritual refinement. At its centre lies a broad sparring mat, worn smooth by countless hours of training. Along the perimeter, recessed seating allows observers, allies, or fellow Force-users to watch in quiet respect. Subtle lighting and minimalist décor evoke the calm precision of a Jedi training hall, an environment where body, mind, and the Force move in unison.
- Grand Atrium & Reception Hall: The entrance into the Estate opens into a sweeping atrium of smooth stone floors and high, timbered ceilings supported by columned archways. Natural light spills in through broad transparisteel windows, illuminating wall reliefs depicting the landscapes of Ilyndraal and small artistic nods to Joiol, preserving the lineage of the Dashiell family. Subtle airflow systems allow the scent of nearby pines and meadow grasses to drift indoors, creating an atmosphere that is at once elegant and unmistakably connected to the surrounding wilderness. This hall serves as both a welcoming point for dignitaries and a quiet transitional space where guests may shed the world outside before entering the warmth of the home.
- The Commons: At the heart of the Estate, The Commons serves as the primary living and social space for family and close friends. Furnished in warm earth tones and natural materials, it features plush seating arranged around a large stone hearth whose gentle fire crackles during cool evenings. Shelves display personal mementos from Balun's travels, including small relics from distant planets, carved tokens, hunting trophies, and the occasional piece of retrofitted technology repurposed as décor. Large windows open toward the gardens, allowing golden afternoon light to fill the room. It is a place built not for luxury display but for comfort, conversation, and the everyday life of Balun and Kellan.
- Kitchen & Dining Pavilion: A spacious, open-plan kitchen extends into a light-filled dining pavilion framed by retractable transparisteel walls that can be opened entirely on clear-weather days. The kitchen combines rustic practicality with modern culinary systems, artisan wood counters and stone cooking surfaces paired with precision heating units, cooling storage, and assistant cooking droids. The scent of herbs grows from planters along the walls, harvested fresh for meals. The dining space features a long, handcrafted table of polished local timber, large enough for intimate family dinners or gatherings with political associates and close companions. From the pavilion, diners can step directly out to the deck, eating beneath open sky or under the soft glow of evening lights.
- The Family Wing: Positioned away from the more public areas of the house, the Family Wing provides privacy and quiet for those who live within the Estate. Hallways are lined with framed holophotos: moments of Kellan's childhood, travels with Balun, and memories from Joiol and Meridian. Bedrooms within this wing are tailored to comfort above formality, each with wide windows overlooking the forest edge or rolling farmland. Shared sitting rooms offer space for reading, indoor play, or quiet conversation at the close of the day. The Family Wing is the emotional heart of the home, warm, lived-in, and distinctly personal, set apart from the expectations and performance of Balun's public life.
- Executive Office: On the second floor overlooking the gardens, the Executive Office serves as the command center for Balun's professional responsibilities and the operations of Dashiell Retrofit. The room is spacious but purposefully uncluttered, designed to convey calm control rather than authority. A broad desk of dark, polished wood sits near a windowed wall, offering a sweeping view of the farmland and distant mountains, reminding Balun of why he works, not just what he works for. Starship schematics, trade contracts, and correspondence can be projected holographically at will, floating in quiet constellations of light above the desk. Warm lighting, low shelves of trade manuals, and personal artifacts from old campaigns and business ventures give the room a sense of living history. This is where negotiations occur, strategies are shaped, and decisions affecting worlds beyond the Estate are made.
- Private Archives/Study: Accessible through a secured doorway adjoining the office, the Private Archives are a curated library of holobooks, physical texts, family records, and research materials. Shelves are lined with tomes from the Jedi Enclaves, datapads containing blueprints and designs, and personal journals preserved across the years. At the center sits a reading table with soft illumination, encouraging stillness and reflection. This is where Balun studies, meditates through written memory, and teaches Kellan the lessons of the past, not through doctrine, but through understanding. The space is quiet, shielded, and entirely personal.
- Holo-Conference Room: Designed for remote meetings with business partners, government officials, and the occasional less-than-legal contact, the Holo-Conference Room emphasises clarity and security. A circular table dominates the room, surrounded by high-backed seating and a recessed holo-projector array capable of forming detailed, full-body holograms. Acoustic dampeners ensure total privacy; no sound leaves the room that is not intended to. A three-dimensional galaxy map can be conjured in the center, allowing real-time navigation, logistical planning, or fleet coordination.
- Master Bedroom: The Master Bedroom is an expansive sanctuary positioned to capture morning light through tall panes of transparisteel overlooking the treeline. Soft fabrics, natural textures, and gentle colour tones create a sense of grounded serenity. A private balcony allows early morning meditation or quiet evenings beneath the stars. The room includes a walk-in wardrobe, a personal bath with a deep soaking tub, and subtle atmospheric controls to adjust scent, temperature, and illumination. The space is intimate, not extravagant, reflecting Balun's preference for comfort and quiet presence over opulence.
- Estate Monitoring Hub: Discreetly embedded behind an unmarked panel near the office wing, the Monitoring Hub oversees the Estate's defensive and environmental systems. Banks of holoscreens track shield integrity, perimeter sensors, local weather patterns, wildlife activity, and the status of starship arrivals. A soft hum of power runs beneath the room, never loud enough to intrude but constant enough to signal readiness. Only a handful of people have access clearance. From here, Balun and his trusted aides can identify threats long before they ever reach the property.
- Safe Room: Connected to multiple hidden access corridors throughout the second floor, the Safe Room is engineered to provide absolute protection for Balun's family in the event of intrusion or siege. Reinforced durasteel walls, internal oxygen supply, water recyclers, medical reserves, and emergency rations can sustain occupants for weeks. Holo-feeds from all cameras in the Estate can be viewed here, along with encrypted comm access for calling allies or activating evacuation protocols. The room itself is not meant to draw attention: it appears as a small, quiet meditation alcove until sealed, transforming into a fortress within the home.
- Kellan Dashiell's Bedroom: Kellan's room reflects both the joys of childhood and the beginnings of a larger destiny. Toys and story holobooks rest alongside practice sabers and early training devices. A desk displays his drawings, imagined starships, animals from the nearby forests, and scenes from stories Balun has told him. The room opens onto a view of the fields where Kellan often plays, learning balance, strength, and stillness. Subtle safety measures are woven into the design, shielded shutters, emergency corridor access, and gentle monitoring systems, ensuring he can be a child without ever realising the lengths taken to protect him.
- The Greenhouse: Located on the southern side of the Estate, the Greenhouse is a glass-and-durasteel structure that blends naturally with the surrounding fields. Sunlight filters through its curved panels onto tiered gardens, hanging planters, and hydroponic beds. The air is warm and lightly scented with herbs and flowering plants. Inside, exotic fruits grow alongside medicinal herbs once used in Jedi healing. A small workbench allows Balun or Kellan to tend seedlings when they wish, reflecting their belief that the growth of plants and of people takes time and care. Gentle water features create a peaceful, reflective atmosphere. The Greenhouse stands as a balance of technology and nature, practicality and calm.
- Gardens: The gardens flow outward with winding paths, stone terraces, and groves of tall native trees. Designed to feel wild rather than groomed, they encourage wandering and quiet exploration. Stone benches sit in shaded alcoves for meditation or private talk, and a few sculptures are placed sparingly so they don't distract. At night, soft biosynthetic lanterns dot the paths like fireflies, keeping the grounds peaceful after dusk. Here, Balun finds renewed calm, peace practised one slow step at a time.
- Agricultural Grounds/Farmlands: Beyond the gardens, the land opens into wide agricultural fields that stretch toward the foothills. Rows of crops and small orchards grow across gentle grasslands, tended by farming droids and occasional local workers. These fields supply the Estate and support nearby communities through shared trade. Livestock graze in open pastures under humane care, and simple irrigation systems and repulsorlift tractors maintain the land with quiet efficiency. The distant mountains form a peaceful backdrop, giving the farmland a sense of stability and permanence. This land is more than provision; it represents steady growth, a grounded home, and a way of living that respects the world it belongs to.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Following the completion of the Capital City of Jhaessa Prime, the corporate jewel that was named Meridian, with Dashiell Incorporated™ positioned at the height of civil authority, Balun Dashiell required a place of residence while also retaining a sense of privacy, peace and a safe environment where he could continue to raise his son
Previously, Balun and Kellan Dashiell had been residing in the world of Joiol within the grounds of the Dashiell Family's Manor, a vast residence with acres of property including grassy fields and forestry, with Balun's Cottage presiding on the treeline. It is this smaller, private housing that the new Home on Jhaessa Prime has been dedicated in sentiment, yet with the stature and modifications that he can now afford thanks to his corporate success, and current efforts in establishing Jhaessa Prime's future.
