The Darkness Likes Me

Vallory liked the sound of that...made her want to visit this place even more. Just to feel the dark side more and more. It was a powerful feeling, one that satiated her lust for power that she was beginning to have, ever since having met that 'cousin' of hers. "I quite like this place...liking it more and more." She sighed upon feeling this power, the dark side.

They stopped at a crossroads. A path left, and a path right. She tapped her foot in thought...then pointed left with her saber. "I say that way...cause right isn't always right, eh?" she said, though it was more of a joke and her look said that clearly.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Vanessa sighed. "if you like it so much, maybe after we remove the body of Tulak Hord, you can make yourself a home here." She shrugged. "I suppose it's for the best, after all." She ignored the joke, admittedly not finding it funny. They would soon come to a corner, around which was a long hallway. "Be patient, my apprentice. I sense we are heading in the right direction." Truthfully, they were. Soon they would reach a door.

"You go first. I insist."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory huffed at the idea. She would...but it was quite a distance from the Sorenn-Syrush dynasty, so she would rather live with them. There was no laugh at her joke, but Vallory did not really mind if [member="Vanessa Vantai"] found it humorous or not. "Perhaps a temporary estate here...or...something." They started off the direction suggested by Vallory, and they came to a door. There they stopped. Vallory looked to Vanessa as she said that. And then, with hesitance she pushed against the door.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"Now now, my apprentice, you're already a vampire. There's no reason to fall into the tropes. What's next, sleeping cross-armed in Tulak Hord's sarcophagus? You'd probably suffocate to death when the doors closed. Or get staked by an overly superstitious Sith." She knew the stories, after all - the Sith believed in such things as spirits, magic, and sorcery. It wouldn't be too far of a stretch for some moronic acolyte to come into the tomb looking for treasure, only to end up staking Vallory through the heart with their lightsaber.

"At least make it a proper home if you're going to do this."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory glared at [member="Vanessa Vantai"]. Honestly, she was unsure if that was an attempt at humor, or not. Whatever it was, it was a jeer at her race...and at her line. She held the small glare...but it soon disappeared. "If you think we would suffocate, you got another thing coming..." They could hibernate for a long time, her kind. As for the staking...that she did not like, not one bit. But then again she wouldn't even try hiding in a sarcophagus.

"So, where's this body we are trying to find?"

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"There are many things I have coming, and I've been avoiding them well enough so far. You aren't a good Sith unless you manage to avoid consequences from the do-good lightsiders." She said. "Relax, I'm not trying to poke fun at you over it. You're a cool woman, and I'm glad to have you as my apprentice." Her relaxed, carefree, and seemingly happy-go-lucky attitude seemed to freeze, replaced by a stoic and more commanding expression.

"The body is located in the sarcophagus. I want you to try and open it - use the Force to activate the mechanisms for the sarcophagus door and expose the body within."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory happened to gain a smile at those words. She was glad? She didn't say proud, but glad...well, it was a close enough step. And meant she was on the right track to being a good apprentice. [member="Vanessa Vantai"] then pointed out just where the body was. Vallory approached the sarcophagus, cautiously. "Nothing...nothing will jump out, right?" She looked it over...then throwing caution to the wind, began to use the force to attempt to open it right up.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"Nothing." She said, watching as Vallory's aggressive usage of the Force swiftly opened the outer, then the inner sarcophagus. Inside the inner sarcophagus was a shriveled Sith corpse in armor, a lightsaber clutched between its mummified fingers. Vanessa moved in, carefully trying to wiggle the weapon out of his hands before managing to successfully do so. "Gaze upon what's left of Tulak Hord. One of the greatest Sith lightsaber duelists of all time."

She was glad his spirit wasn't lurking around.

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory stepped back as the sarcophagus opened, more out of recoil upon seeing the body. And the odd smell of it having been in there for so long. She looked to [member="Vanessa Vantai"]. So this being was good in lightsaber combat? She wished she could have learned a bit before he kicked the bucket. But there would no doubt be others. She stood there silently for a long moment. "...Now what?"

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"Now grab the corpse and take it with us." She said. "I have a repulsorlift platform called from my shuttle that should be waiting for us at the entrance of the tomb. Once there, place the body on the platform. It will follow us into the shuttle and shackle the cadaver so we can head to Malachor and do what must be done - that of course being twisting and mutating this corpse into an abominable weapon of war capable of immense destructive potential."

Vanessa was pleased to see that the second phase of her project was proving to be quite suitable.

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory grimaced at the thought, a look of disgust at even thinking of picking that thing up. Slowly she took it and carried it in both arms. And gagged at the musky smell. "This smells horrible...Why do I have to carry this?" She started off while holding the mummified corpse in her arms, following [member="Vanessa Vantai"] out to where the repulsorlift platform would be. "Malachor?" She had not heard of this system. Another sith location? Embraced in the dark side?

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"Because if you try to carry him with the Force, you'll drop him. And we can't afford to have a damaged corpse for these rituals. Not with the test articles, anyways." She replied. Once they reached the exit of the tomb and headed to the repulsorlift platform, she would motion for her apprentice to drop the corpse on the platform in question. Stepping onto it, it would begin to ascend up the side of the mountain towards the shuttle.

"Once we get up there, I want you to reel up the lines we used to get down here while I prep the shuttle for launch and bring Mister Mummy on board."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory grimaced again. She hated the smell of the mummified corpse. The Sanguinius moved about the platform, and it began to move upwards to the top of the cliff. "So, what happens...if this fails?" Would they end up making a terrible abomination. Would it try to kill them? She wanted to know these things, before making it. It would no doubt be very dangerous. They arrived at the top, and Vallory got to reeling up the lines just as [member="Vanessa Vantai"] had told her to do. Then she got to bringing the mummy aboard the ship, setting it down and sighing out of relief. "Fiiiinallyyyy!"

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
[member="Vallory"]

"Then we are going to have a very, very angry Sith spirit possessing a dangerous war machine." She replied. "Combine an insane Sith spirit with lightsaber skills and the like with a suit made of an intelligent droid wired to the bones and you have a potentially lethal combatant. We can subdue it, though." She sighed as they would get into the shuttle, which would soon take off from the surface of the desolate Sith world.

Now it was on to the laboratory for the final stage of this experiment.

Vallory gulped. That sounded dangerous...a little too dangerous for her liking. "Let's...not let that happen." She sat down in the shuttle, wondering if this would end up going well at all for them. Her gaze remained on the mummy the whole trip.

[member="Vanessa Vantai"]

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
The shuttle would soon exit orbit and head to the jump point within the Korriban system. Vanessa would eye Vallory, looking for any sign of disturbance the Vampirika had with regards to the mummified Sith corpse that was sitting on the repulsorlift platform before the two of them. She sighed, thinking over the situation before voicing herself. "Bah. It might be good practice for that lightsaber I gave you."

Well, she'd probably get cut down, but it would be good practice.

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory kept her eyes on to the mummified corpse. She just could not take take her eyes from it. Hearing [member="Vanessa Vantai"] brought her out of it. No doubt Vanessa could be sensing her doubts, her worries. And she rarely doubted or worried. This, all this. It felt all so new to her, and dangerous. The kind of dangerous she did not enjoy. Yet curiosity combated these senses. She held the saber spoken of in one of her hands. She had had yet to use it. "Yes...maybe...how long will it be till we arrive?" she asked, lifting her head up to meet Vanessa's gaze.

"Patience. A few hours until we jump to the planet." She said, thinking over the various rituals she wouldhave to perform in order to successfully get this construct created. It would more than likely be difficult to work with, especially given her lack of a skilled surgeon to implement the microservos into the mortified tissue, but Vanessa would be able to do it. This prototype would certainly be beneficial to a degree unlike anything else she had before her.

"So tell me about your family, Vallory."

Vallory sighed, a few hours was it? That was some time most certainly. They just needed something worthy of passing the time with...And [member="Vanessa Vantai"] proposed an excellent suggestion. "I am of House Sorenn-Syrush. A proud family of my kind. I however am only half Vampirika. My other half is Vahla, force sensitive and flexible" she said with a smirk. She was always proud of her flexibility and force sensitivity, it helped get into tough to get to places that would require athletics and flexibility. "What of you, Master? What is your family like?"

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
[member="Vallory"]

"So if you're half-Vampirika, does that somehow make you less capable than a full Vampirika? That's a bit confusing to me, not going to lie." Vanessa thought for a moment about her own family. "Well, my father was a merchant, and my mother was a housewife. I'm not going to lie, I don't really remember them. I had to deal with the whole 'getting captured by pirates and used as a slave for the better part of my teenage years' thing. Then through a series of events I don't think I'll elaborate on, I ended up becoming a Sith." She said as the colors of hyperspace surrounded them.

"Don't get hyper-rapture now. The last thing I need is a crazed vampiress addicted by the pretty lights."
