Description: A large space station tethered to a terminal on the ground. There are several docking bays for orbital ships to land in or dock, depending on size. Larger than any office build on the ground, The Dammerung contains over a thousand offices and is where much of the executive administrative work for Paragon occurs. It is located above Hapes to satisfy the law that states all major financial transactions must occur on Hapes itself. Government regulator offices exist on board as a result. Its tether is a super tensile cable that can propel a sizable elevator pod to and from the ground terminal. The interior has a bright, white ultra modern theme with lots of soft bevels stylishly married to sharp angles. Black accents appear to punctuate the predominant white. There is liberal use of live flowering plants and colourful holograms and screens to break up the monotony. The place looks positively high-tech and beautiful.

History: The Dammerung was built to satisfy Hapan financial transaction laws while still centralising Paragon Enterprises. It was built in C.Y. 4500 as a smaller space station with fewer office buildings and was unarmed. Over the centuries to follow, the station was expanded periodically and retrofitted with the latest technology available. In time, Corporate management felt it wise to improve its deflector shielding and add Ion cannons on point-defense mounts after a scare involving the Empire's incursion attempts during the Galactic Civil War.

Despite the Imperials never making it past the Lorelli Reach, their ships seized or destroyed and the Consortium's security reaffirmed, House Zhan took no chances and made the defensive investment as well as securing limited technological information on how the Star Destroyers worked. R&D gained an entire deck to themselves and many concepts were developed and archived on the Dammerung's central computer system. Few made it off the station to be proposed to the Queen Mother who at the time authorised only a certain few innovations at the time, preferring to spread out innovation incentives to all Hapan Defense Contractors... presumably finding some amusement in watching the companies compete.

Today, the Dammerung is still in place and operational, employing over a thousand executives, engineers, scientists, and corporate security. It continues to be a think-tank for new military designs, much of which gets forwarded to its brother station, the Orbital shipyard and munitions factory Morgandam, which orbits Gallinore's closer moon, Nessus.

Links: Will have one when Morgandam is written.
