OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make the SW universe more interesting, and to expand the ways in which technology. This is a form of organic technology. Not these creatures provide specific variable abilities, but also weaknesses unique to this type of organic technology. But to be clear, the use of this organic technology is not meant to replace technology but only act as a supplement.

  • Average length of adults: 5cm-20m [These measurements do not apply to combined Rael]
  • Skin colour: Black, White, Purple, Brown
  • Hair colour: N/A
  • Distinctions: These creatures are a massively adaptive species that were genetically engineered by the Bryn'adûl as a way of honouring the power of the organic, as a way of supplementing the damage of their limited technological resources with a naturally produced organic technology.
These creatures intelligence and capabilities are predetermined by their size, as their mass allows them to think more, and do more. Therefore, the larger the Crell the greater it is. This is almost unlimited due to their ability to consume one and other, growing in size.

The Crellderath are unique in their ability to change their molecular composition to suit whatever technology is required of them. They are servants of their masters in this aspect.
  • Races:

- Crellderath Incre'sa:
The Incre'sa are the smallest and weakest of the Crellderath. These symbiotic ceatures are those that are used to replicate simple programs and instructions, typically these creatures are used with basic weaponry such as small arms fire and personal armour and weaponry.

These symbiote's are only capable of replicating the capabilities of whatever item it is attached to. These Rael are smaller and take longer to adapt to their technological demands. They typically have thick black tar like skin with a soft reddish goo slithering underneath.

-Crellderath Kada'su:
These variants of the Crell that have eaten one of their own, consuming their intelligence and mass to become more capable. These Crell typically take on a more dark brown mixed with their normal black tar like appearance. The Crell can be used to replicate standard electronic machines, basic droids and small vehicles. They can also be applied to things like mines and grenades.

These Crell are strangely more passive than their smaller Incre'sa brethren, and require more prodding and starving to devour one and other and grow in size.

-Crellderath Vashdier:
The Vashdier are one of the most violent and carnivorous of the Crell. These creatures typically take on a sort of blackened crimson skin with black goo underneath, and are often vicious and will eat Vash, Kad and Incre'sa alike in their endless hunger however still remain passive and docile to the Draelvasier touch. These Crell are typically used to repair more complicated droids and higher grade vehicles, and sometimes in large groups they can be used to repair small starships.

-Crellderath Devalkier:
The Devalkier are aptly named, Devilkin. These creatures are used to used to repair anything from small starships to cruisers, their greater mass and intelligence allowing them a wider range of flexibility whilst still maintaining their particularly individuality. These Devalkier are typically worn with a white or bronze hide, riveted and cumbersome.

The Devalkier are where the Crellderath begin to branch into sentience, acting as a complex program similar to an AI, able to develop their own personality and sentience in later years of maturing.

-Crellderath Behemas:
The Behemas, one massive entity capable of a heightened level of sentience and even an ability to understand the force in a basic way at a young age. These creatures are incredibly rare, one in a hundred thousand and capable of replacing and upgrading ships. Typically used for large Star Destroyers, Battlecruisers or Dreadnoughts.

These creatures act as equal parts many operators and AI, able to replicate even the most complex of technological devices. These Crell have the greatest control of their molecular composition, able to shift in such a way as to fit any need of a ship and its crew.

  • Strengths:
+ Adaption: These creatures are referred to as organic technology by the Bryn'adûl, used to replace and repair damage and missing parts of a weapon. However, they cannot survive without the present technology.

+ Strengths: These creatures adopt the strengths and prowess of whatever they bond with, however are limited by said weapons capabilities.

+Self-Repairing: Over time these creatures can self-repair by drawing on energy/fuel reserves of nearby and available sources.

  • Weaknesses:
- Symbiote: The Symbiotic Crell cannot survive without their host technology once bonded with them.

- EMP: A powerful EMP can kill these creatures as they survive off of energy/electricity and therefore can be hurt by electronic or sonic attacks easily.

- Control: As they bigger they get, the more intelligent and independent they become. Therefore, as these creatures reach the later stages of semi-sentience and eventual sentience they must adhere to one owner for their servitude to be maintained without fault.

- Cannot be Sated: As with any creature, as time passes and it grows - so does its appetite. A Crellderath never stops wishing to feed but can stave it off, these creatures endlessly wish to feed on energy and one and other.

The Incre'sa -
  • Strengths:
+ These Crell are easy to control, and almost readily applicable and work like a basic computer program; adjusting itself to whatever task is set before it.
  • Weaknesses:
- The Incre'sa can easily be destroyed by flame.

The Kada'su -
  • Strengths:
+ These Crell can be used unlike their lower brethren in an autonomous fashion, able to operate without the assistance of a sentient, executing its own actions and able to program and use droids in combat.

+ They are durable, able to harden themselves in response to attacks.

  • Weaknesses:
- Whilst more independent they are still in many ways basic programs. However, due to the nature of their use have reactionary capabilities and thus have the ability to be overloaded with information, causing them to shut down. Comparable to going into shock.

The Vashdier -
  • Strengths:
+ These variants of the Crell typically increase kill counts of their pilots or the droids under their use. They also are capable of controlling more competent droids, such as battle droids and heavy vehicles and small starships.

+ As the Vash are semi-sentient they are somewhat conscious of their role as war-beasts. This makes them more vicious, and in some ways more compliant and others rebellious.
  • Weaknesses:
- Pain: The Vash can feel pain, something they previously could not as they have mutated into their larger forms. So, in some ways the technology they are the later variations of the Crell take over can be considered in some ways 'alive'.

-Rowdy: When not fed or allowed combat, the Vash will become undisciplined and rowdy - acting out and rebelling against their Byn'adul captors.

The Devalkier -
  • Strengths:
+ The Devalkier are one of the more commonly used variations of the Crell, typically for larger dropships and small cruisers and destroyers. They can repair and replicate the technological abilities of whatever type of ship they are attached to.

+ At this stage the Crell are growing close to complete sentience, able to learn and develop an understanding of the spoken word however not able to replicate it. They operate similarly to a dumb AI.

+ When enraged, the Devalkier can draw on the energy supplies of their bonded technology to supercharge their equipment for a short period of time.

  • Weaknesses:
- Unlike basic technology, these creatures are alive. They can feel the force and thusly their operations can be directly interrupted by a powerful enough force mind attack.

- The Vash further strive for independence, individualising themselves through bonding with their crew. Thusly, if the operator of their technology dies. They will mostly likely give up in a fight, and slowly rot.

The Behemas -
  • Strengths:
+ When enraged, the Behemas can draw on the energy supplies of their bonded technology to supercharge their equipment for a short period of time.

+ They are durable, able to harden themselves in response to attacks.

+ The Behemas is a being, and bonds with its owner and can amplify the Force powers of its owner when on-board or within a radius dependant on its size.

+ The Behemas is intelligent, able to communicate in multiple languages to its crew and to various species.

  • Weaknesses:
- Force Bonding with an owner has benefits but also drawbacks, when its owner dies the Crell can either become enraged or simply die out of a great sadness. What happens upon the death of an owner is dependant on the particular Behemas however extracts a heavy toll on its child-like mind.

- Unlike basic technology, these creatures are alive. They can feel the force and thusly their operations can be directly interrupted by a powerful enough force mind attack.

- Massive Power Suck: These creatures, on this scale require a massive amount of energy to survive. This can be incredibly costly.

CULTURE
  • Diet: Cannibalism | Energy/Electricity
  • Communication:
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behaviour: The lower in mass and intelligence the Crellderath, the less complicated it is. Their behaviour can be categorised by their level of sentience. The non-sentient Crell are like complex programs, capable of completing tasks and sometimes, especially with matured variants appear to enjoy violence. The semi-sentient Crell range from incredibly complex programs to in some ways AI, capable of free throat and apparent awareness of the force and morality. In their maturing years they can become more intelligent overtime however, they do have limitations.
The sentient Crell, the Behemas variety on the other hand are entirely different. These are massive creatures that think and feel the same way we do, in a primitive manner. They have beliefs and ideas based off of their experiences, and typically are indoctrinated into a belief similar or identical to that of the Bryn'adûl. They like their brethren are sworn servants of the Bryn'adûl.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
As the Draelvasier became more integrated within the Bryn'adûl, the Seers of the Drael advised Tathra that he use his scientists and knowledge of the galaxy to begin the creation of a new species as he had done once before with the creation of them themselves.

Tathra knew the Bryn'adûl had a tolerance for science, however still even he himself had a distaste for the cold of space, and how disembodied from nature one became in the realms of space. Thus, the project of an organic technology began with the basic attempts to create a species that in of itself would have properties that allowed it to molecularly program itself.

The first series of tests created a small pool of creatures that were adaptable, however where entirely too small to be of any use outside of small weapons fire. These were the initial creations known as the Incre'sa. When the Bryn'adûl continued their research at Tathra's behest, this was when they began their development into electronically feeding and cannibalistic creatures, teaching them to adopt a Hivemind like intelligence as they absorbed one and other.

This also in turn worked in cohesion with their own beliefs, allowing only the strongest into their service. It was also imperial that these creatures be able to masse more than weight, but rather to grow and expand their knowledge and intelligence on a massive scale. This in turn, lead to the eventual perfection of the Crell through continues tests leading to the first Behemas. Which was, eventually forcibly shut down and destroyed before more tests could be ran. However, whilst still in some ways unstable the benefits of the use of a Behemas unit are still being uncovered presently.

[member="Tathra Khaeus"] Hello! Please forgive the delay on the review but it took me a little time to read it fully. Your concept here is really very interesting! I'll dive right in...

You have a lot of great ideas here and it's clear you put a lot of work into this--But as it stands the submission is just a little bit beyond the scope of a single species sub. Before we proceed with anything else I would have to request that you split this up by creating different subs for the following:

Tathra Khaeus said:
- Incre'sa: Non-Sentient - Kada'su: Non-Sentient - Vashdier: Semi-Sentient - Devalkier: Semi-Sentient - Behemoth: Sentient
You can break it down in one of a few ways. One sub for each individually, or, you can break it down into three [Non-Sentient/Semi-Sentient/Sentient]. These would need to be fleshed out with any details that can be provided just like any other species sub.

While you work on those I can move this submission to the Pre-Codex. It can remain there for a couple weeks whilst the individual submissions get squared away. Once they get Approved you can tag [member="Irajah Ven"], [member="Jairus Starvald"], or myself to bring it back for live judging.

Does that sound agreeable?

[member="Tathra Khaeus"]

This Submission has been Archived due to exceeding the 2 Week limit in Pre-Codex. If and when you need it pulled back to Pre-Codex so that you can make adjustments to get it ready for live judging please tag myself, [member="Irajah Ven"], or [member="Jairus Starvald"] for assistance. Thank you!
