Name: The Coruscant Underground.
Intent: To codify a resistance movement that was established a good while back and has done things.
Affiliation: A free Coruscant. Also, the Underground.
Availability: Common.
Type: Infantry, swoop/speeder bike.
Strength: The Coruscant Underground is trilateral-cell-based and has a flat command structure; as such, its total numbers are constantly growing and unknown to the organization. Total numbers are likely in the tens of thousands. The basic cell is three individuals.
Description: The Coruscant Underground has its roots in the supply-distribution networks that were used by the Levantine Sanctum for its successful, covert relief mission to Coruscant in the initial days of the occupation. From there, a trilateral cell structure was implemented. Each cell contains three people, each of whom knows (or recruits, or was recruited by) one person in another cell. This allows procedural recruitment expansion models, but causes issues for coordination and trust, as recognition codes cannot be reliably or securely changed for an entire network. Most large operations use a maximum of 3-4 cells. As a result, and due to strategic priorities -- the Coruscant Underground mainly chooses small, attrition-related targets -- most of the largest operations involve only about ten or twelve Underground members. On the plus side, however, the trilateral cell structure aggressively minimizes the damage that can be done by defection, capture/torture, corrupt ideology, or telepathy.

Members and cells of the Coruscant Underground generally work in two veins. Many live undercover throughout Coruscant society, at most levels. Others base themselves in the lower levels and launch guerrilla/sabotage operations upward. The Coruscant Underground is a semi-isolated but embraced member of the galactic Underground network, which endeavors to provide weapons and evacuate the family members of identity-compromised Coruscant Underground members and of active fighters. In the aftermath of the eventual conquest of Odik (long the Republic's last holdout in the Deep Core), the Underground-supplied survivors made their way to Coruscant and joined the Underground there. This has bolstered the Coruscant Underground with battle-hardened, if somewhat traumatized, combat veterans.

In order to arm as many people as possible, the Underground arranged to distribute the entire back catalog and warehouse surplus of Hekler'Kok Defense Industries arms, with an emphasis on slim, easily smuggled weapons. Linked below are special weapons not included in this category. The Coruscant Underground prioritizes concealable melee weapons and has access to a variety of unique, powerful secondary weapons.

The Coruscant Underground is aware of the newer, Rebel Alliance-affiliated Coruscanti Resistance, but the planet is large enough that they rarely cross paths. When they operate in similar spheres, the Coruscanti Resistance's larger teams, armor, and Rebel marines generally attract more attention than the Underground, allowing the lower-profile Underground to slip through the cracks.
