Music
Coruscant - The Walk

Light and cacophonous noise thundered out into the Coruscant night. The walls shuddered, the floors buckled and heaved, the entire sector seemed to breath as the rolling wave of sound crashed outward and over a massive gathered crowd. Some danced, some drank, some simply stood within the midst of the chaos enjoying the throng of revelers. It was a party unlike any other, welcoming all throngs of life and divided into what each one might enjoy most. Thousands crowded through the district, losing themselves in the music that surrounded and bled into them.

The Walk had come to life. Every club, every corner, every dance floor filled with celebrants and escapists. So many had come they now spilled out into the streets, musicians and entertainers carving out their own little marks of territory as the revelers flew to them like moths to light. This was a night to be remembered. A celebration for the Sith who had won their great victory. A way for the people of Coruscant to forget their toils.

It was a renewal. A celebration. A carnival donated to the people of Coruscant. Here the hardships of their lives were forgotten, the battles they won celebrated. The sound cleansed them of their sins, and brought them new ones.

--
Felix watched it all from a balcony high above The Walk. His eyes flickering over the crowds as he leaned into the narrow railing before him. From this high the throng of people appeared to be more of a sea than a crowd, the ebb and flow of those moving acting as gradual waves rolling through the streets below. Eventually they would be counted. Surveillance cameras, drink tabs, all sorts of different sales would be tallied and placed upon the ledgerbooks.

To his eyes though, it appeared that all Coruscant had come.

It was a ridiculous assertion of course. This planet held billions, and even had they wanted to only a fraction of a fraction of that number could ever have fit here. Still, he couldn’t help but feel pleased. Weeks of advertising, tickets for free drinks, and plying of those who now held sway here had landed their attendance numbers far higher than anyone had dreamed of. It would be a good day, for both the legitimate businesses and the other players at work here. “You did well, little brother.”

Teslyn crept up behind him, silent as she ever was. Up here, far above the streets, the music wasn’t quite as drowning. Though her voice still had to be projected, Felix could hear his sister well enough. To his shock, there was no sarcasm in her tone. A scarcity in his memory.

He would have to cherish the complement.

“Mother and Father will be quite pleased.”
Felix smiled, though only dipping his head in a nod as he mused on the fact of that. The last decade or so had been a quiet time for the Coratanni Cartel. At the behest of their parents they had withdrawn from the public eye. Limiting operations and allowing everything to simply subsist ‘until the time was right’. Felix, and more than a few of his siblings, hadn’t seen the logic in it. There had been arguments for days, even weeks. Nikolas had practically abandoned them all for a few months. Eventually though they had settled, and despite it all, the quiet had been rather good for them.

Not that most wanted to admit it. ”I expect they will be.”

Felix answered finally.

“But there is still work to be done.” The night was very young, and the party had only just started. He hadn’t worked for weeks on all of this to just spend it up here in his families private apartments. There were things that needed looking after, people whom he had to speak to. This party was more than just a ploy to get half of Coruscant drunk. Anyone who was anyone would be here tonight.

Throughout the Walk a dozen different clubs remained closed, each one designated for a more private affair. Drawn away from prying eyes, and given to those who wanted to enjoy an evening of revelry but absent the rabble shambling through the streets. It was there that Felix would have to visit.

”Do me a favor, Sister, hold down the fort and ensure Rava doesn’t break anything.” He glanced over towards his other sibling, already indulging a bit too much. Teslyn quickly following his eyes ”I have some people to meet.”

Lily had been working hard, working smart, being sensible. While it was good and she craved the routine and organised manner in which the work at her enclave was providing. There was something in the back of her mind, something that itched a desire that she couldn't find in the enclave. A craving for behaviour that some might consider unseemly for a Jedi Knight, a leader. Where she could let her hair down, enjoy her favourite pastime and reconnect with a part of herself that had been stored away since her last relationship.

So, in search of a way to scratch the itch, Lily went. Even if it was for a night, or two. Something to just break away from how things had been for so long, especially since she had talked about her hobbies and such in several conversations with others as of late. It brought the idea that she needed this reckless escape to just reconnect with herself. See if it was still part of her or if this was something that had been lost to time. News hit that there was an event going on Coruscant that clicked right away with what she was seeking.

It was stupid though, Coruscant was Sith Covenant territory, if caught there, Lily would be in massive trouble. If... And who would think it was really her? She could use an alias, would anyone think the Echani Jedi Knight be out clubbing like she intended? Especially since Echani tended to look quite similar to other races so that could also be an angle she could play into. It was dumb, she shouldn't go. But Coruscant's club district really didn't have an equal in Lily's mind. The event looked really fun.

Which is how Lily found herself on Coruscant, dancing in a club. Her hair loose, her dress provocative on purpose but also perfect for dancing in a club. Lily felt her body relax and sink back into the dancing that she had not gotten to do in so long. Having a few drinks between songs, enjoying the presence of men, women and anyone who would dance with her. Anyone who dared to think they could keep up and handle the Echani while she being very much a free spirit.

If this was what the Masters at the Academy meant when they told Seris Velmora she needed to broaden her horizons, they really should have been more specific. The soirée had been fine. Better than fine, actually, once she'd found the bar and people worth talking to. She had worn the dress, borrowed jewelry she absolutely could not afford, behaved herself reasonably well, and made an honest effort at seeing the parts of Sith society that apparently existed beyond training rooms, battlefields, and people trying to kill one another. Seris could even admit that she'd enjoyed herself.

But this? This was much better. The Walk seemed to pulse beneath her boots as Seris disappeared into the mass of bodies filling the district. Music thundered loudly enough that she could feel the bass in her chest, neon and holographic advertisements painted shifting colors across the crowd, and everywhere she looked there was something happening. Dancing spilled out of clubs and into the streets. Drinks changed hands faster than credits. Someone nearby was shouting something that Seris couldn't understand and probably didn't matter. There were enough people packed together that moving through them became less walking and more surrendering herself to the current.

Seris wore dark red again, though there was nothing formal about it this time. She'd chosen the outfit herself, which meant it was fitted, comfortable enough to actually move in, and paired with boots instead of the sort of shoes someone expected her to suffer through for appearances. A few pieces of jewelry remained. She had discovered at the soirée that she rather liked jewelry. That particular lesson in Sith culture had apparently stuck.

The grin on her face had appeared within minutes of arriving and hadn't gone anywhere since. Much better. She collected one of the drinks being handed out along the way, took an experimental swallow, decided she liked it enough not to care what was actually in it, and continued deeper into the celebration. There was no objective. No instructor waiting to evaluate her. No opponent she was supposed to defeat. No artifact to retrieve or creature to hunt. For once, Seris had nowhere she needed to be and absolutely nothing she needed to accomplish. Apparently that could be fun too.

By the time she found one of the larger concentrations of dancers, whatever hesitation she might once have possessed about throwing herself into a crowd of strangers was long gone. Seris slipped between bodies and let the music take over. She wasn't particularly interested in whether there was a correct way to dance to it. She moved the same way she approached most things: instinctively, energetically, and with enough confidence to make questions about technique largely irrelevant.

There was something strangely familiar about the feeling. The noise. The movement. Bodies shifting unpredictably around her. Having to react rather than think. Except nobody was trying to hit her. Seris laughed at the realization, lifting her drink before finishing what remained and abandoning the empty container at the first appropriate opportunity. Maybe she really did need more hobbies.

That was when she noticed Lily Decoria Lily Decoria . Not because Seris sensed something strange about her. She wasn't probing the crowd through the Force or searching for threats. Tonight, suspicion had been left somewhere back at the Academy alongside her training clothes and lightsabers. She noticed Lily because the woman looked like she was having fun. Real fun. Not the measured amusement of nobles pretending they weren't watching everyone around them. Not someone standing at the edge of the crowd trying to look like they belonged there. Lily was dancing, drinking, and throwing herself into the celebration with exactly the sort of reckless enthusiasm that immediately caught Seris' attention.

Seris watched her for several beats. Then her lips curled into a competitive little grin. "Oh, you're good." Whether Lily could possibly hear the assessment from where she stood was irrelevant.

Seris started toward her. She slipped through the dancers rather than forcing a straight path, shoulders twisting between people until she emerged close enough to Lily to make her intentions obvious. There was no introduction. No polite request to join her. Seris simply caught the rhythm again and started dancing alongside the stranger as though they'd arrived together.

For the first few moments she said nothing at all. She was testing her. Not consciously enough that Seris would have called it that, perhaps, but the instinct was unmistakably hers. She matched Lily's energy, adjusted when the other woman moved, and gradually pushed a little harder herself. Faster when the music demanded it. Closer when the crowd compressed around them. A playful challenge offered entirely through movement.

Eventually she leaned closer, enough that shouting might actually accomplish something over the music. "I'm Seris!" There was no surname. No title. No announcement that she was Sith. Just Seris, flushed from dancing, dark hair already beginning to lose whatever careful arrangement she'd given it before leaving the Academy, and visibly delighted to have found someone who seemed capable of matching her.

She leaned away again before adding, louder this time, "And you're already making following my orders way more fun than the last party!" Seris laughed and immediately threw herself back into the music. She could learn Lily's name in a minute. For now, she wanted to see if the stranger could keep up.

A planet that is entirely made of metal. Coruscant has always been the galactic hub of activity for anything really. It is normally a planet that Xiyoh wouldnt normally go to. Especially now that Coruscant was now deep within Sith Covenant territory and she did not need to mess with the Sith at this time. But however, she knew that Sith rule tend to be either orderly or chaotic. And when something is of either of those two extremes, there is bound to be people who will wish for something else entirely. So Xiyoh was here to try and recruit people for the cult.

Changing into an outfit that could blend in with the locals better, and began to walk the strees, A few of the people she spoke to didnt seem entirely interested in about her cult. Alot more pressing things on thier minds at the moment. Xiyoh though would not give up and her actions had led her to a rave that seemed to be happening. Various lifeforms danced to the music, going wild as they many of them wore ripped clothing of various kinds. Xiyoh felt that perhaps she was a bit too modest for this sort of event but she wasnt gping to walk out now. The Ember Weave cultist moved in and then made her way to a bar, ordering a drink.

Her eyes scanned the crowds of people, wondering which one could she talk to and try to convert. The bartender must have noticed the serious look on Xiyoh's face as he handed her the drink she ordered. He told her to try and liven up and enjoy herself. Xiyoh would sip her drink as her eyes then found Lily Decoria Lily Decoria and Seris Velmora Seris Velmora . The whited woman, she remembered meeting before. on Sullust, granted that meeting wasn't very long. Her golden eyes traced over the form of the Jedi woman before looking to the other woman. That one Xiyoh did not know, but certainly had an interesting look on her. For now though, Xiyoh is just watching them both as she sipped her drink, content with observing for now.

Lily moved with the music, letting her body talk and express the desire to be free and uninhibited in the moment. She was there to be fun and not focus on what duties there were waiting on Lily. There were many who attempted to talk or observe Lily as she moved. That was going to happen and it happened to plenty of other women dancing at the rave. That never bothered Lily, part of what she came here was for the desire to dance and be seen dancing like this. It was freeing and she could be a little more flirtatious and teasing than she allowed herself to be when working as a Jedi.

When another person approached her, Lily didn't immediately catch what was said, the music was loud. Deafening a lot that was around her and she was too focused on taking the music in and feeling the beat move her. However, the stranger made her presence known as she got in closer and danced very closely with Lily. Something she was not against, but a little surprised with the lack of an introduction. Lily felt a little competitive edge from the way that this other woman danced, something that seemed to suggest that she was wishing to look just as good as Lily. There was a soft giggle from Lily at that thought, that was the thinking that Lily was exactly not doing. She found the best way to dance was to not overthink it. Just embrace the music.

The Echani demonstrated this by not competing at all, just keeping the uninhibited and joyful dancing, soul being entwined with the music. A manner of dancing that wasn't designed to be seductive or sensual but expressing her desires to be unattached to the galaxy for the night. Attempting to ignore the disasters, the pain, the fear and just listening to the beat. When an introduction was given, Lily's silver eyes flickered over to the other woman, Seris, "Daisy." A false name but one that should at least prevent a Sith from realising that she was a Jedi. That had been the hope at least.

Lily felt the eyes of another on them but then, there were many eyes around that lingered on them that Lily couldn't spot who was paying close attention. "Just here to have fun so glad you are feeling that energy!" Lily commented as she continued to dance.

There was something wrong with this competition. Seris couldn't immediately figure out what it was. She pushed a little harder, letting the pounding rhythm dictate her movements as she tried to draw the stranger into the same wordless contest that had begun the moment Seris joined her. It wasn't anything serious. There wasn't even really a prize beyond the satisfaction of knowing she'd managed to make the other woman work to keep up. Seris simply liked competition. Fighting, training, racing—apparently dancing too. If two people were doing the same thing, then surely there was some way to determine which one was doing it better.

Except Daisy wasn't trying to win. Seris caught onto that eventually. The Echani wasn't backing down from her either. She kept moving with every bit as much enthusiasm as before, but there was no answering escalation when Seris pushed, no little glance to see who had drawn more attention, no attempt to turn Seris' challenge back upon her. Daisy just...danced. Completely surrendered to the music and apparently unconcerned with whether Seris, or anyone else in the crowd, thought she was doing it better than them.

For several seconds Seris looked almost puzzled. Then she laughed. It was loud, spontaneous, and mostly swallowed by the music as Seris finally abandoned a contest that only one of them had been participating in. Her movements loosened almost immediately. Rather than trying to anticipate Daisy so that she could answer whatever the other woman did, Seris simply let herself move alongside her. There was still plenty of energy in it—Seris wasn't particularly good at doing anything halfway—but the competitive edge gradually disappeared. And somehow it became even more fun. Maybe the Masters were onto something after all.

"Daisy?" Seris repeated when she managed to get close enough to hear the introduction properly. Her smile broadened. "That's cute!" There wasn't the slightest hint that she questioned it. Why would she? Daisy said her name was Daisy, and Seris had considerably more interesting things to think about than whether a stranger at a rave had provided proper identification.

Daisy's declaration that she was here to have fun earned an enthusiastic nod. "Exactly!" Seris stayed close enough that conversation remained possible without either of them having to stop dancing, though possible was being generous given the volume around them.

"Apparently I spend too much time training and fighting!" she shouted, sounding considerably more amused by the accusation than offended. "My Masters decided I needed to get out more. Socialize. Experience things." There was a dramatic roll of her eyes at the last word, though the grin undermined whatever complaint she was attempting to make.

"I tried a soirée first!" Seris' expression immediately suggested that Daisy ought to appreciate the magnitude of the sacrifice involved. "Fancy clothes. Fancy drinks. Everyone standing around talking about politics and who's important and who's related to who." She leaned closer, dropping her voice despite the fact that doing so merely meant she had to practically shout beside Daisy's ear anyway. "There were rules."

Seris pulled back with an exaggerated grimace before laughter overtook it. The soirée hadn't actually been terrible. She had met interesting people, discovered a certain enjoyment for dressing up, and learned that she liked jewelry considerably more than she'd expected. But compared with this? "This is way better!" She lifted both hands briefly as though the music, lights, dancers, alcohol, and general chaos surrounding them constituted irrefutable evidence. "And technically I'm still following orders." That realization seemed to please her enormously.

Seris let herself disappear into the music again for a while. It was easier now that she'd stopped trying to prove anything. Daisy had the right idea. Nobody here cared how technically accomplished either of them was. Nobody was grading her. Nobody was waiting for someone to make a mistake so they could exploit it. It was strangely freeing.

Eventually Seris drifted closer again, dark hair already considerably less cooperative than it had been when she'd arrived. "So, Daisy!" Her eyes narrowed playfully. "Are you actually from Coruscant, or did you hear there was a planet-sized party and make the same excellent decision I did?"

As she turned with the music, Seris' gaze happened to travel beyond Daisy toward the bar. Golden eyes caught hers. Seris' attention lingered. The woman wasn't familiar. At least Seris didn't think she was. She'd met enough new faces recently that she wasn't entirely confident in that assessment, but this one didn't immediately stir a memory. More interesting was the distinct impression that the stranger had been watching them.

Seris raised an eyebrow. For a heartbeat she simply looked back. Then the corner of her mouth curled upward into a small, curious grin. There was even the slightest tilt of her head—less an invitation than an acknowledgment. Yes, I see you. She didn't approach. If the woman wanted something, she knew where to find them.

Seris turned back toward Daisy, slipping effortlessly into the rhythm again as though nothing had happened. For tonight, the mysterious woman at the bar could wait. Seris had only just discovered that dancing didn't require a winner.

Xiyoh would narrow her eyes for a moment. One of them seemed to have noticed her staring at the pair while the other was seemingly oblivious or did not care she was. Then again neither of seemed to be moving to her which perhaps Xiyoh did sort of expect. One of the two women however gave subtle hint of an invitation to join them on the dance floor. Xiyoh looked out to the rest of the dancing denizens to monitor how they were moving. None of them danced in a similar manner, just seems to be various amounts of different ways one contorts their body to fit the vibe of the music. Xiyoh tapped her chin for a moment as she then would finish off the rest of her drink.

The Ember Weaver then moved onto the dance floor, seemingly gracefully pushing herself through the crowd of people. As she approached the pair, Xiyoh would give a small smile between the two women "I hope I am not going to interrupt your flow. But forgive me, my dancing is a little more graceful compared to what many people here seem to be doing." Xiyoh then began to move to the sound of the music. Not so much as dancing with the pair but more so moving in the same space as them.

Xiyoh's movements were elegant less of the usual type of rave dance. Still she swung her hips to the music doing her best to let music try and flow through her like they were the flames she loved so much.
