Rationale: The Children began as a simple idea. Abyss had learned how to use the media, words and manipulation to reach his goals. After the one sith had fallen, he gathered those who belonged to the intelligence branch of the fallen empire, to work out a plan to regain some power from the shadows. Slowly, by playing it save they gained followers on a small scale, brainwashing those on the lowest end of the foodchain, making the fanatic preachers that shared the words of the children through the population without the need for Abyss and his men to show openly.

While Abyss and his men invest a lot of time to make it seem otherwise, the Children are noting else than a cult that manipulates and brainwashes people into submission. They promise the same things other cults do. Being part of a community, security in live and death and finding a higher purpose in live. They teach that anyone is equal, but anyone higher up in the command structure is aware that some are more equal than others. To function properly the Children work closely with the other groups working the galaxies underworld, using their abilities to influence minds to help them with smuggling, security and in some rare cases slave training. In return the Children earn money for offering these services. Yet to keep a multi planet cult financially afloat more than a small amount of irregular income is mandatory, so the children have began to pick out wealthier and mire influence candidates for their brainwashing, making them believe that they have to give their money over to them if they want to reach a higher level of being, in live as in death.
